Dawnbreak RP - The Lores of Magic: Dark
Dark magic is naught but a force of destruction in its purest form. The lore of darkness is the oldest magic Malosians have known, stretching back to when they lived inside the caves on what would become modern-day Malos. Raw dark magic takes the form of a black or amethyst mist that clings close to the ground, or as large spires of stone protruding out of it.Despite its origins dating to be as old as humanity’s earliest days, dark magic is a rather dull form of sorcery. Spells involving the lore of darkness are primarily for combat, to bring an end, or incapacitate your opponent before they do the same. The darkness cannot bring warmth on frigid nights, scry into the future, or accelerate the growth of plants; it is only meant to destroy.
Because of their affinity for dark magic, harnessing the lore comes easily for humans, needing only the barest of knowledge to cast the weaker spells. However, for most other races, the ordeal is a lifetime of maintaining focus lest they lose their connection, or the destructive nature of dark magic engulfs them.
