The judicial power in the OSK is vested to the Supreme Court of the OSK (Supreme Tribunal in the Organized States of Kappa). The Supreme Court is the highest authority of judicial power in the region and the region's highest federal court. The Court has entire jurisdiction over all lower federal and state courts when federal law or the Constitution is taken into account. The Court is also delegated as the body which reviews the constitution, laws, and Decrees for unconstitutionality.
The Supreme Court of the OSK is headed by a Chief Justice, who is with 3 other Minister Of Justices's (MOJ). These judges are all appointed by the President and approved by the House of Commons. The current Chief Justice, The odyessians , retained his term through the appointment process. Justices maintain a lifelong term, which can end by death, resignation, or impeachment. The Court meets in the Discord Supreme Court chat, which is located on here
Function
The power exercised and function of the Supreme Court of the OSJ is legally provided by the Constitution. The main role that the Supreme Court plays is the ability to review laws and decrees for unconstitutionality. This power is above the authority of all the other branches.
The Supreme Court plays a key role in the impeachment of members in Government and Justices. Although the House of Commons has the power to initiate an impeachment, the Court will try Assembly members. If a Justice is the one in question, the other Justices will try them with the Prime Minister of the House of Commons.
Cases reach the Supreme Court when a case at the state level is appealed by the defending party and successfully makes it through the Appellate Committee assigned to that state.
Structure
The Supreme Court is fixated at a 4 member limit, with one of them being the Chief Justice. Although the number was fluid, this is amended by a public referendum each election cycle.
The President is given the task of appointing those they deem worthy to become a Justice, commonly a noble or studious member of society. The person in question is approved by the House of Commons with a majority.
No Justice has been successfully impeached as of this time.
