Custadian Fighting Ships

Custadian Fighting Ships

Carriers

Strenst-A full sized carrier class capable of carrying 50 straight-wing aircraft, usually a complement of 35 FC-09 Buzzard multirole fighters and 15 BT-16 Goshawk tactical bombers and up to 15 helicopters. this capital ship is the centre of Custadia’s carrier groups and the backbone of its fleet. It is capable of fighting surface ships, submarines and aircraft and is able to support land forces. It is equipped with state-of-the-art electronic warfare and sonar equipment. A typical Custadian carrier strike group contains five combat ships: one carrier, two frigates, one destroyer and one missile cruiser. There are 140 examples of this class in service.

Kzerl-A class of helicopter carriers/assault ships, the Kzerl can carry 30 helicopters, the composition of which depends upon its mission. Its main purpose is to support amphibious assaults carried out by the battalion of marines carried aboard and other land units. It is also capable of acting as a command centre should the need arise. There are 30 examples of this class in service.

Destroyers

Yriz-The only destroyer class in service with the Custadian navy, the Yriz specialises in fighting aircraft and surface ships, carrying advanced radar and a large array of anti-ship, surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missiles, all aided by advanced radar. It has space for one small HU-95 utility helicopter. There are 200 examples of this class in service.

Frigates

Zwirla-Again the only operational class of its type, the Zwirla specialises in anti-submarine warfare, carrying hull-mounted and towed sonars as well as a dipping sonar aboard the specialist HF-98 helicopters it carries. The helicopters are also capable of transporting the onboard company of marines into combat. These marines are instrumental in the class’s other role as a cost-effective power projection vessel. Its main gun and a small array of anti-ship missiles provide limited anti-surface ship capability. There are 400 examples of this class in service.

Missile Cruisers

Wuzukoy-Dedicated anti-surface ships being only recently revisited within Custadian naval doctrine, the Wuzukoy is a brand-new class of missile cruisers, armed with a large array of devastating supersonic anti-ship missiles and heavy conventional artillery, its purpose is to give the Custadian fleet an edge against any surface formations. There are 160 examples of this class in service.

Submarines

Narsk-These nuclear-powered hunter-killer submarines are dedicated to destroying enemy submarines and surface ships whilst remaining undetected, a task in which they are aided by cutting-edge sensor arrays and weapons systems, including fire-and-forget torpedoes. There are 300 examples of this class in service.

Kruska-These play a very different role to the Narsk. They are designed to cruise at depths lower than even most submarines can survive for extended periods of time, relying on their nuclear reactor for power, allowing them to get within range of the enemy homeland to launch their nuclear payload without the enemy ever knowing where they were or that they were coming at all. There are 100 examples of this class in service.

The fleet also contains logistics vessels and small ships for very specialised tasks such as minesweeping and riverine/coastal patrols.
