Meijer Takes Confederacy Out

Hausmacht Tonight
with David Kohler

☆ The Situation ☆

MEIJER TAKES CONFEDERACY OUT

In a move that was suspected in recent days but still surprising, Chancellor Edison Meijer has officially taken the Confederacy out of the Central Pacific Empire. His resignation as Vice Delegate and the Confederacy’s defection are effective immediately.

Chancellor Meijer met with his senior advisers this afternoon at the Residence in Hausmacht to consider and discuss the Confederacy’s future within the already “faltered” Central Pacific Empire, and the consensus was that it would be better for a fresh start. Meijer also expressed his “enraged” concerns.

He made it clear that he believes the new Prime Minister to be severely “amateurish” and that the regional government and its “blind trust” in a “banjected leaker” shows instability and that it is a “dangerous” foreign policy. The merger agreement between the CPE and Libertatem, and along with it their “diplomatic relations have been voided due to incompetence, backdoor motives, and extreme dishonesty.”

Chancellor Meijer believes “several” leaders in the Central Pacific Empire are behind the “wanted failure” of the merger discussions since he worked on it with Libertatem’s Pevvania during his time as Minister of Foreign Affairs. “This whole problem is the fault of an amateur Prime Minister and the vindictiveness of a banjected leaker, and they will forever be responsible for what happens now and going forward,” he said during a press conference.

Meijer also strongly believes "much information" was kept from him by the Prime Minister and other leaders, due to his pressing support for the agreement. "I was appointed Vice Delegate to help facilitate the merger process, and keeping certain details behind my back was deeply unfortunate," an infuriated Chancellor said, "it's their loss."

David Kohler asked Chancellor Meijer if he believes the future of the Central Pacific Empire will be bright, and he simply said, "No."

"I have also been told that I am taking assurances too easily, and that is not at all fact," Meijer insisted. "Factually, I am done taking the assurances of others seriously until positive results are produced, and my fellow Confederates feel likewise," he continued. "We've seen it all," Meijer concluded.

In his second interview with David Kohler, Chancellor Edison Meijer said that the Confederacy is "still considering going solitary" and putting an end to all regional involvement. While the Confederacy has wide political capital, he explained that "no serious decisions" have been made at this time.

"I also want everyone to know that we here in the Confederacy will always harbor the most positive respect for the Central Pacific Empire," the Chancellor announced, "as we have been through a lot while beside them, and that they will never be forgot no matter where we go from here."

UPDATE

In a statement released from the Residence this evening, it seems that Chancellor Meijer met with his HOMCOM advisers to discuss the "regional future" of the Confederacy. A major topic discussed was a "hopeful fresh start" with the Central Pacific Empire, as Meijer is said to regret his fleeing from the CPE. A meeting between the Chancellor and the regional Prime Minister is very much desired.

Here is the resignation and defection notice Meijer submitted:

Chancellor of the Confederacy
The Residence | Hausmacht

For Immediate Release

Citizens of the Central Pacific Empire:

There has been no greater honor for the Confederacy than to be a citizen of the Central Pacific Empire. We have experienced and learned much, especially during our time as your Defense Minister, your Foreign Minister, your Vice Delegate, and most definitely during our time as your Prime Minister. This will never go forgotten.

The mucked affairs pertaining to the sudden removal and banishment of Ambassadors, and our amateurish leadership believing alleged intelligence by a former and vindictive member of Libertatem, and the use of that information to end talks are unacceptable. This is extremely damaging foreign policy, and the inside talks about merging with another region with the leaker should raise some very serious questions about this government, and its backdoor motives. Very disheartening.

With this, I am announcing my resignation as Vice Delegate and the defection of the Confederacy from the Central Pacific Empire, both effective immediately. I have discussed this with my advisers, and they believe we must place the credibility of our citizens foremost. While we are saddened, our future is more important. Good luck to you all.

Keep Strong,

Edison Meijer
Chancellor of the Confederacy
