The Commonwealth Times - August 2017

Monthly Commonwealth Highlights
This month, we've been working in the shadows. August has been a month that shall be closed with a Nuclear Conflict. The Commonwealth is working to fight its enemies and expand its influence and foreign policy goals.

Congressional Updates
The Grand Council & Popular Council are working on plans for N-Day and supervising the Commonwealth Defense Forces and SpyOps Division.

Social Spotlight

Preface
Originally we were going to interview The liberty coalition, but we were not able to get into contact with them in time to feature the interview this month. We will feature them next month, and have instead featured New Legland who is a member of the same region (Canterbury).
The Commonwealth Times
When did your region first get involved with the SCUT?
New Legland
My region Canterbury joined SCUT sometime in early June. Apparently, my founder The Liberty Coalition had planned to join SCUT without my knowing (I didn't mind much). I had heard about SCUT before but glossed over it, much likeany of the other defending/raiding organizations in NationStates. I was glad to be joining one of these organizations, however.
The Commonwealth Times
What is your role in your region/organization?
New Legland
I was one of the "founding fathers", you could say, of our region. As such, I was one of the more trusted members of the region. As of right now, The Liberty Coalition has appointed me "Executive Ambassador." I'm just one of the officers who runs and is trusted with the affairs of the regional government.
The Commonwealth Times
What is your opinion on the way the Commonwealth functions?
New Legland
To be honest, I don't know much about the affairs of SCUT. I left the discord a couple of months ago because our region had voted to leave. It wasn't until recently that I learned we were still affiliated with SCUT.
The Commonwealth Times
Have you participated in any declassified major military operations with the SCUT?
New Legland
I have not participated in any such operations. The only military operation in which I have participated was a small detag of the region StarClan that was independent of SCUT.
The Commonwealth Times
How involved are you and what do you plan to do in conjunction with the SCUT?
New Legland
The most involved I was with SCUT was being the General Council Representative for Canterbury. I had voted on a couple of polls on the discord, but that's about it. Right now, I'm glad that my region is hosting the base of operations for SCUT for the second N-Day. As for the future, I'll get more involved in SCUT's government and possibly participate in military operations if I learn more about raiding/defending.

The Commonwealth Times
When did your region first get involved with the SCUT?
The Holy Empire of Loaf
One of our embassy regions was a SCUT member and I was researching interregional organizations. I was added to the SCUT discord as ambassador.
The Commonwealth Times
What is your role in your region/organization?
The Holy Empire of Loaf
I'm the executive Founder in the region The Great Experiment.
The Commonwealth Times
What is your opinion on the way the Commonwealth functions?
The Holy Empire of Loaf
I've elected not to join the Commonwealth, because we aren't extremely into Project Seeker-like roleplay and some of the Commonwealth's policies seem a little far-reaching. Having an executive Founder, it didn't seem like we'd get much in return for having to obey interregional laws and putting the SCUT emblem in the corner of our flag. I'm sure it works great for other regions, though.
The Commonwealth Times
Have you participated in any declassified major military operations with the SCUT?
The Holy Empire of Loaf
No, I was on vacation during the SCUT summer operations.
The Commonwealth Times
How involved are you and what do you plan to do in conjunction with the SCUT?
The Holy Empire of Loaf
I'm having less and less time to play NationStates, but maybe in the future I can sign my region up for some SCUT military operations. Our Constitution doesn't give much decision making power to the Founder, so joining is not up to me.

News Around the Multiverse
This weekend, there shall be a multiversal nuclear warfare simulation (N-Day) in honor of the de-escalation of nuclear arms in an effort to maintain peace. This simulation may or may not involve the use of a new realism technology that SCUT scientists have been developing where our simulation warheads contain a very realistic isotope: Uranium 237 & 2/2. This isotope will allow for our enemies to understand what would happen to them in theory, if they were to engage in a conflict with us, for whatever petty reason they have.

The Barracks

The Commonwealth Defense Forces deploy in the defense of the Commonwealth and its allies to maintain peace and order in the multiverse.

This month, the CDF has liberated StarClan and is currently undergoing preparations for N-Day operations.

Project Seeker

This section details the updates of Project Seeker.

There have been no updates on Project Seeker, as of late. We shall potentially move this section to be a dedicated entry in the "Letters to the Editor" section.

Selven writes:
The The Holy Reich of Bunicken has lost its WA Delegate after 220 days of service. A new one shall be appointed by popular vote.

Excellent. If there's any turmoil in the transitional process, we can potentially provide some aid. May your people's new delegate serve them well.

Irrodoll writes:
Once upon a time, there was a dark force in the Kingdom. This force was an evil spirit that often took on the shape of a Black Sheep. This spirit had made its way into the village, disguised as a human, though it was once caught in the form of a Black Sheep by a Knight, returning from duty. The King banished the spirit with the help of the local Priest. Upon the King's death, his spirit remained and defends the kingdom from The Black Sheep. Now, the King has found the Black Sheep's lair and is on the way to vanquish it once and for all. Go to The Castle.

Morriband writes:
If you are the regional leader of an allied or partnered region (that is, affiliated, but not a member, outpost, or holding) contact me via telegram about getting into the new discord and ensuring that diplomatic regulations are met. Thanks!

Yet another SCUT leadership announcement. As usual, no comment from me: just make sure you do this if it applies to you, since it helps the organization quite a bit. Thanks again, guys.

Commonwealth times editior writes:
Okay so since this is technically me writing myself a letter (#ForeverAlone), I'm not going to comment on it below.

I just want to thank everyone who reads, upvotes, shares, and pins our issues. It really means a lot to me that you all like this content. If you want to join SCUT, just telegram me or Morriband. If you want to see something in particular, get interviewed, advertise, or anything like that, then telegram me! If you want to become a staff writer, you can telegram about that, too.

Thanks again guys!
