DEUTSCH: Während dieser ganzen Zeit habe ich also die Absicht, meinen PC am Ende des Jahres wieder aufzubauen, und ich habe mit der Planung begonnen. Im Moment ist mein Zimmer dank der Heizung, zu der mein PC geworden ist, normalerweise viel wärmer als der Rest des Hauses! Mit dieser Veränderung geht auch ein neuer Speicher einher. Ich stelle auf alle SSD um. Ich werde also in den nächsten ein und einhalb Monaten, wenn ich dieses Semester des Online-College beende, meinen "Cyber-Fußabdruck" ausräumen.

Islanders dressed up in their fanciest suits and ritziest ball gowns to rub shoulders and drink champagne with their fellow defenders at the first ever Liberty Gala. Players from all over NS joined in for the revelry and got to know one another through games of Among Us, impromptu VC parties, and a congo line to other regions' Discord servers. Besides making new friends, players paid respects to old ones, through panels and essays from experienced defenders, as well as an extensive family tree that traced mentor-trainee relationships through several generations.
But it wasn't all fun and games at the Gala, as players were also split into teams to compete in Defender Telephone, Trivia Relay, and a Detag/Chase competition. Players also had a chance to show off their individual skills in trigger jumping and chasing competitions, with results determined by a nail-biting few milliseconds! Despite the competitive nature of these events, players were quick to praise one another and keep their spirits high. In the end Team Obama proved themselves to be the best defenders (or perhaps just the most enthusiastic), and were awarded 1st place in the Defender Games. Though the end of the Gala is bittersweet, everyone returned home with new friends and plenty of fun memories!
XKI went all in to celebrate Halloween this year, with plenty of events to get everyone is a spooky spirit!
~The Cultural Office hosted a Regional Pumpkin Event, in which Islanders could submit different designs for an XKI jack-o'-lantern. The simultaneously beachy and spooky palm tree design, suggested by THX1138 proved to be the region's favorite. Grea Kriopia, in a live pumpkin-carving session, expertly created this Halloween's fantastic Regional Pumpkin
~Chief Executive Markanite called upon Islanders to collect candy in a Trick-or-Treating themed Scavenger Hunt that had everyone scouring the forums for candy. Margaux proved themselves to be the most adept candy-hunter, finding an amazing 928 sweets, and winning 50,000 tacos as a prize! Wischland and Free Las Pinas also showed their candy finding skills, coming in second and third place respectively.
~The region didn't let the fun stop during Z-Day's zombie incursions. Islanders worked together to cure the zombie plague and save one another's nations, coordinating in Discord and the regional RMB. Player's cure spamming saved trillions of lives, and placed XKI on the Z-Day rankings at #13 for most survivors, and #5 for Most Survivors + No Quarantine. Meanwhile Louisistan led zombie-loving nation to spread the undead scourge from 10000 Zombies to the rest of the world. Whatever side Islanders took, they had a blast working with another to deal with the zombie threat.
~Margaux was named
Rookie of the Quarter. Besides his service as Secretary of state, Deputy Senator for Himes West, in TITO, and as a recruiter, Margaux has been a fixture on the forum and Discord, bringing joy to all with his formality and respectful discourse. Congratulations Margaux on the well-deserved award!~Islanders sallied over the The Union of Democratic States to spend the weekend socializing with friends there. Members of XKI and UDS got together to play a variety of games and roleplay together in a mutual
story-building event. Laughter and camaraderie abounded, and Islanders returned home with lots of new friends.~Senator for Lyonnesse East Thedairos held the
House Shield and Cup Competition, in which recruiters from XKI's different houses competed to contact and recruit as many new nations as possible. Led by the recruiting machine also known as United Counties of Escanaba, the House of Improving Wordiness took both the House Cup and House Shield. The House Sceptre went to the House of Aersoldorf thanks to Free Las Pinas's high recruiting success rate. Congratulations to the winning Houses and thank you to all recruiters!~October's
Featured Nation was Zaberaz Hapang whose excellent work as a Welcome Buddy and recruiter shows their diligence and commitment to making XKI an even better region. Keep up the good work ZH, we can't wait to see what you'll do next!~Following HumanSanity's assumption of the Delegacy, October saw an Endorsement Drive to get HS's endo count up to an ambitious 500 endorsements. Although HS's endo count was still a bit short by the end of the month, the hard work of TIBOE prompted over 30 nations to give HS their endorsement, with more sure to come soon.
~The A Taco Archipelago International Convention concluded after a month of excellent roleplaying and nation-development, all hosted by Wille-Harlia and Thedairos. Islanders were asked to create factbooks on their nation's military, design a map for their nation, and even write a battle speech! The convention ended with a bevy of awards and congratulations for each event winner.
A poll by Jabberwocky asked Islanders to pick which dinosaur they would save from extinction. Following lots of dino-based discussion in the RMB the Brontosaur and Raptors both proved popular.

Bei mir hat das Wintersemester offiziell erst vor einer Woche begonnen, daher darf ich mich jetzt weiter dem Studium widmen. Parallel arbeite ich noch als Hilfskraft am Institut, wodurch ich auch selbst unterstützend in der Lehre tätig bin. Wird also ein arbeitsintensiver Monat. Da merkt man richtig den Unterschied wie schwer es ist mickrige 40h im Monat zu arbeiten und wie einfach es ist 40h in der Woche in MMOs zu stecken. :D

Wie auch immer, Elmo ist auf seiner Weltreise auf Deutschland gestoßen und Elmo sagt, dies sei eine ziemlich epische Region. Elmo wird eine Weile hier bleiben, bevor er seine Reise um den Globus fortsetzt. Nimm ein paar Kekse, die ich auch von Cookie Monster gestohlen habe. Sie scheinen ziemlich gut zu sein. Ich habe sie im Müll gefunden. Ich meine, frisch aus dem Ofen. Also hat Elmo immer einen Raketenwerfer dabei, damit Elmo boomt.

Oder-Land, Trollarien: Wie es der Zufall will, bin ich kurz mal WA-Delegierte geworden. Mir wäre es recht, wenn wir die Endorsement-Verteilung wieder so rearrangieren können, dass die Mehrheit wieder an Yermaney geht. Ich gönne ihm diese Position von Herzen, da er als Gründer seit Jahren dafür sorgt, dass wir eine Gruppe in einer nicht-englischen Sprache beibehalten können. Ich sehe immer wieder Regionen anderer, kleinerer Sprachen entstehen, oft aber wieder verschwinden, weil NationStates gemeinsamen Interessen oder Sprachen keine personenunabhängige Kontinuität gönnt. Selbst finde ich in der WA die Diskussionen unter Spielern weitestgehend unattraktiv und irrelevant. Nur super selten stimme ich bei irgendwas mit ab, am ehesten bei einer Liberation, weil dabei Angelegenheiten des Griefing, die normalerweise auf Webseiten Moderatorensache sind, bizarrerweise Plebisziten der Nutzer überlassen werden. Am Posten als Delegierte bin ich also gar nicht interessiert. Könnte bitte jede Nation, die mir freundlicherweise ein Endorsement gegeben hat, ebenfalls ein Endorsement an 
Yermaney geben. Vorübergehend könnt ihr auch gerne ein oder zwei Endorsements von mir entfernen. Herzlichen Dank für eure Hilfe!
Hexerei und Zauberei: das mit dem Granteln ist mir in Österreich auch schon aufgefallen. Aber lieber mal ein bissl grantig und gleichzeitig ehrlich, als überschäumend. Amüsierst du dich über Vokabular wie Mistkübel oder Schlagobers? Ich finde, es ist einer der wunderschönen Aspekte des Spracherwerbs, Zugang zu Sprachvielfalt und liebenswerten Eigenheiten zu gewinnen. Hoffentlich hast du mal in einem Sommer Gelegeheit, selbst Marillenknödel herzustellen, die finde ich besonders gut. Ansonsten kannst du ja mit Kaiserschmarrn anfangen, der ist unkompliziert.
Astariia: Ich wünsche dir viel Erfolg bei deinem digitalen Aufräumprojekt. Eine externe Festplatte für Sicherungskopien wird hoffentlich während der Umstellung deine Sorgen vertreiben. Es ist auch nicht schlecht, eine verschlüsselte Datenkopie, z.B. auf USB, bei Familie oder guten Freunden zu hinterlegen. Für den hoffentlich niemals eintretenden Fall, dass die Bude abbrennt, sind die Daten der eigenen Arbeit und Korrespondenz nicht alle weg. Auf jeden Fall viel Erfolg mit dem College!

The saar commune: Du musst halt deine Lehrtätigkeit mehr MMO-mäßig gestalten, dann vergehen die Stunden wie im Flug. :-D Aber im Ernst, wenn es dir gelingt, irgendwie ein spielerisches Element reinzubringen, und sei es auch nur auf einem inhaltlichen Nebenschauplatz, werden die Studis es dir wahrscheinlich danken.

As the longstanding delegate of a large, founderless region for more than eight years and counting, this nation has demonstrated utmost dedication and unparalleled service for its constituents in the Philippines. In its dream for a shared world, it has kept the region open to all aspiring members despite the increasing demands of ascending in the international stage. Never has it been under an Ariusgrad administration that the region locked itself from invasion, facing the powerful forces head on with incredible skill in consensus building and maintaining alliances. As an integral member of the URA, the region under its exemplary leadership has since been key to many initiatives.
In a day or so, the landmark proposal will be taken up in the Security Council. Every manifestation of support will be most beneficial, for this is not only a recognition for a largely unknown region such as the Philippines, but also an interesting development, a great message, for all regions which may not have marquee reputation relative to the world, but which credentials are nonetheless noteworthy.

Opinion: Commendations? Meh. Maybe in the past, commendations - not in their totality, but as a tendency - used to have a semblance of a function. A public letter of recommendation. A vague notion that a person looking for experienced players to associate with, or to ask for advice, might possibly find helpful pertinent knowledge in such a text. There've been extensive efforts to undermine any usefulness: Accept commendations written by griefers. Write commendations for people who have griefed. Ex post, associate past writers/recipients of commendations with griefers and/or griefing. It's one of the effects caused by the website's peculiar policy of legalising griefing. As a result of commendations being written, people go to great lengths and spend lots of their free time on rendering commendations rather pointless. Some people have weird priorities in life. If liberations were unnecessary, and condemnations were only written for consensual actions such as RP writing skills, then commendations might actually have a positive function for players, encouraging interesting consensual interaction. As the website's system is, meh.

HLI Deutschland ist an fünfzehnter Stelle der größten nicht-englischsprachigen Regionen im Spiel.
Wir sind von der Anzahl der Spieler nicht besonders groß, da wir ja auch Marionettenstaaten willkommen heißen. Aber wir sind erfreulicherweise beständig. :) Es gibt auch Regionen, die den tag Non-English verwenden, aber de facto bloß Englisch schreiben. Keine Ahnung, warum sie die Kennzeichnung dann überhaupt verwenden. Wenn ich mir die Liste der als Muttersprache meistgesprochenen Sprachen der Welt anschaue, gibt es nur für wenige von ihnen eine Region, wo man sich auf dieser Sprache mal nett unterhalten kann.

The Kingdom of Norbien is divided into three separate provinces, namely Maura-Norabe in the north, Pare-Norabe in the southwest and Kurêve/Kurêvia in the south-east. Since the city of Grestine is located in Maura-Norabe it has both the status of being both the State and a Provincial Capital. Historically, the Norbian Kingdom consisted out of only Maura- and Pare-Norabe (literally „Upper- and Lower-Norbia“), however, after a lengthy military campaign in the year [REDACTED], Kurêvia got conquered and annexed. Despite now being fully assimilated into the Norbian culture, a noticeable part of the Kurêvian population refuses to recognize the Norbian government and royal family and don‘t consider themselves to be Norbian. Since the „Unity of all Norbian realms“ is an incontestable part of the Kingdom’s constitution, all regionalist/separatist parties are banned on a both federal and provincial level. In reaction to this, Kurêvian-nationalist terrorist cells and Guerilla groups have formed, who try to gain the independence of Kurêvia by violent means. Their attacks and assassination attempts are still causing numerous casualties to this very day.
