The spread of diseases throughout the Empire, most notably the mutant outbreak in former Yikestopia and the recent outbreak of Covid-19 in Osajia, has led the WA World Health Authority to issue health advisory alerts for both Yikestopia and surrounding regions and Osajia. the WHA's Epidemic and Pandemic Alert and Response Centre has also sent teams of medical experts to both diseased areas to assess the situation on the ground and begin work on halting the spread of both outbreaks.

"I would first like to thank all of the people who helped this campaign, even if we didn't win. Given the current standing of the race, barring some unpredictable thing, we have lost this election to the newcomer, Bladias. As such, I would like to concede the race to Bladias, and the UCF in general. We didn't win this time - but, believe you me, we will win the next one. I am currently drafting a constitutional amendment for determining the election cycles of the Empire, but, until then, congratulations, Prime Minister Bladias!"

"Well, Wolf, I don't think much of any repercussions will happen. This can most similarly be attributed to the first Invictan election that the Islands themselves took part in; the only difference is that he lost. Now, when the Islands did finally win the election, he was the subject of a coup and the subsequent total break up of Invicta, but I sincerely don't think that will happen here. The Empire has always, and always will be, more stable than Invicta."

Great Edmundia and Osajia
The Great Edmundian Federal Government has instituted an immediate travel ban effective for all of Osajia. Meanwhile, the Mother Country has reported its first case of Covid-19, an Osajian man in his 40s in Great Edmundia on business who reported to the Sable Ferret City General Hospital with flu-like symptoms. The man has been isolated and is being treated. Authorities say that, considering where the man has been in the past two weeks, dozens of people may have been exposed to the virus already.
The front runner candidates for Sultan have been established: Abdul bin Hassan, the son of the former Sutan; Ali Abd al Majid, the chairman of the reigning Communist party; Abrar al-Rashid, a far-right wing media mogul; and Afzal bin Akbar, a leading democracy advocate. They will debate each other in 2 days time.
Given the current lack of a cohesive leader at the moment, there is little chance of a nation wide quarantine. However, individual provinces are beginning the quarantine process. Already 37 people have been reported to have died, and the cases have skyrocketed to 2000.
Over the course of the day, Covid-19 cases in Edmundia have spiked. There are now 9 patients in isolation in Sable Ferret City. The Sable Ferret Municipal Council has issued a prohibition of all mass gatherings of more than 5000 people in the city starting from tomorrow. The city metro has also been shut down. Sable Ferret City Transit said in a short press statement that its sanitation employees will be working through the night to disinfect the trains and stations.
In other news, a WA team has just crossed the border from Central Yikestopia into the Yikestopian wasteland accompanied by a unit of Imperial Army troops. They will spend a week travelling across the ravaged country, surveying the extent of the Yikestopian mutant outbreak and collecting samples which, it is hoped, could lead to the development of a vaccine for the mutant virus which still has not been named yet.
The guys over in StGeorgeislands have proposed that we join their defence pact, the TRIDENT Defence System. I think this is a good idea as well for our mutual defence, plus there are almost no commitments we have to follow on our end once we sign up. Once this current general election is over and we sort out the Preamble Act, I think we should put this to a vote.

BREAKING - CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
Cases have spiked in the Edmundian Covid-19 epicentre of Sable Ferret City, with about 250 infected. The Great Edmundian Federal Government has introduced extraordinary measures to isolate the city, cancelling all flights in and out of Sable Ferret City, stopping all train and bus movements and instructing residents to stay at home. The Great Edmundian National Guard has also been mobilised, and National Guardsmen are assisting local police in manning roadblocks on highways leading out of the city.
In other news, the first case of Covid-19 in Gladesopolis has been detected, with a 50-year old man who arrived on a flight from the Altonianic Islands a week ago in isolation at Royal Gladesopolis West Hospital with flu-like symptoms. Health authorities are now looking into the man's movements to track who might have been infected with Covid-19. The commissioner of the Gladesopolis Ambulance Service, Greg Hogan, has said in a press conference that dozens of people may have been afflicted with Covid.
The Imperial Government has also announced that, starting on Tuesday, the travel ban on Osajia will extend to the Altonianic Islands as well.

The Liki Islands Department of Health has announced that the Islands first case of Covid-19 has been detected in Lahabana. An Altonianic woman in her early 20s has been isolated in the Lahabana Hill Hospital. Given the Islands' status as the Empire's premier tourist destination, the emergence of cases here has not come as a surprise to analysts. Authorities are not working to trace the woman's contacts, although there are fears that, as the woman is young and does not seem to have serious symptoms, she could have been out in the Liki community while infected for weeks.
Authorities in the Liki Islands have urged calm. However, as Liki Islands relies heavily on the Tourism industry, there are fears from experts about how a global travel shutdown due to the Covid outbreak may adversely impact on the Liki economy.

The first case of Covid-19 in New Edmundia have been detected. A nurse at an aged care centre in the suburbs of Port Lanfax recently returned from a holiday in the Altonianic Islands tested positive for the virus and was immediately taken to West Bay Hospital. The care centre has been put under lockdown, and staff and patients are being tested for coronavirus.

Citizens in Lava Guava and The Texan Revolution have now been confirmed to be harboring the virus. Given the placement of the Islands as the epicenter of the disease, the Islandsian Health Department (IHD) sees no reason to cancel flights to "stop" the spread of infection throughout the nation; however, if the rest of the region decides to embargo travel from the region's biggest populace, then the Saged Government will not object. The first case in both nations are Osajian tourists.
The disease is now effectively global; Bladias, Depressea, Arabic Khemed, and other Edmundian colonies are the only parts of the world without the disease.
The cases are already exponentially rising, especially in the cramped living on densely populated islands; just today alone, cases have skyrocketed from 10,587 to 23,904. The Saged government, in an unprecedented move, has placed the entire nation under quarantine.

Osajia has banned ALL travel to the entire world; even foreign citizens will be unable to get back into the country.

In other news, the Osajian election will be held tomorrow; it will decide whether or not democracy will become the norm in Osajia, as the race has become more and more a two-man race, even more so after the debates two days ago. The race appears to be between Abdul bin Hassan, the son of the former Sutan, and Afzal bin Akbar, a leading democracy advocate. Ever since they had truly abysmal debate performances, Ali Abd al Majid and Abrar al-Rashid, the other two major candidates, have both debated dropping out, in order to avoid the career shattering event of losing the biggest election in national history in a landslide. Ali Abd al Majid has bent to the pressure this morning, and has dropped out, significantly increasing bin Akbar's chances; al-Rashid on the other hand has decided to stay in, and is pumping a total of 500 Million Great Edmundian Royals worth of Osajese Truth Royals. Given this turn of events, bin Akbar is the odds on favorite to win the election, at least in the gambling den city of Les Fyjas.

Libertian Edmundia has yet to report a single case of Covid-19. However, the Libertian Edmundian Federal Government has already outlined its response, arguing that, as a small Imperial outpost surrounded by hostile neighbours, it needs its citizens to be at full health to maintain national defence. As of today, all flights and boat traffic in and out of Libertian Edmundia have been grounded. Airports have been completely closed, and Libertian Edmundian National Guard troops have been deployed to close land border crossings. Governor Ho Chi has also passed an emergency executive order requiring all citizens to submit themselves to coronavirus testing. Additional legislation is currently being debated in the Libertian Edmundian federal parliament that would allow police to detain any individuals who test positive in specially built virus containment facilities, and authorise officers to shoot people in breach of containment rules as a deterrent.
BREAKING - YIKESTOPIA VIRUS UPDATE
Onto a different outbreak, and we have some good news coming out of Great Edmundia. Researchers at the Alpine Hills University in Rydesville have announced that they have been able to successfully synthesise the virus that is the root cause of the mutant outbreak in Yikestopia. This is a major first step in developing a vaccine and possibly a cure for the disease that has ravaged almost an entire continent. This development has been shared with both the government and with universities and research centres across the country, as well as the World Health Authority's Epidemic and Pandemic Alert and Response Centre. Meanwhile, the WHA mission in Yikestopia has reported that dispersed all over the land are pockets of survivors, and that there may be a lot more factions now operating in Yikestopia than aerial reconnaissance previously suggested.
BREAKING - CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
There are now 300 cases of Covid-19 in Sable Ferret City, and 25 people have died from the disease. The local council has responded by placing the city in a complete lockdown, banning gatherings of 10 or more, closing schools, shutting down public transport and urging citizens to, wherever possible, work from home. The entertainment industry has been completely thrown into chaos as a result of the ban on mass gatherings.
Gladesopolis has also seen a rise in cases, with 12 now infected in the capital, as well as its first death. There are fears that an outbreak in the capital could lead to the shutdown of the Imperial Government.
In financial news, the major Great Edmundian stock exchanges, the Sable Ferret City Index (SFCX) and the Gladesopolis Stock Exchange (GSE) have all recorded major losses. However, some of these losses were recouped at the end of the day with the encouraging developments from Rydesville.
