I figure that we share the COVID-19 pandemic in our NS countries (if it exists in your roleplay).

COVID-19 was first identified in Lightford in a traveler who returned from Wuhan, China on 29 January, 2020. Two days later a public health emergency was declared and nonessential travel to China was barred. Citizens returning from foreign travel are detained in a deferral period before finally returning to their legal place of residence. By the start of March development of tests have began and since then over 1 million of them have been performed. On 15 March, 2019, a nationwide ban on education, public events, nonessential work, travel, and outings has been imposed. Freedom of movement has been severely restricted. Citizens are forbidden from leaving their residence within the country let alone anywhere else. Armed forces members too are quarantined in bases. Lightford has been the stictest it has been ever. As of 13 April, 2020, there are over 100 thousand active cases of the coronavirus.

The pandemic has left detrimental impacts on Lightford. Over half of the workforce isn't working which has contributed to a recession. The GDP has fallen by 5%. The government is also suffering due to heavy spending on employment leave, stimulus, and healthcare. The economic stress from this problem is more severe than the Great Recession. Military funding has been the lowest at any point in modern history after high focus on it since the end of Lightford's isolation period of the 1880's-1930's. Furthermore 40% of Lightfordians have reported a decline in their state of well-being. Suicides have surged after the 2000's depression and suicide epidemic which peaked in 2010 and has rapidly dwindled until the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to panic buying, stores have seen shortages of commodities. Particularly food, drinks, alcohol, masks, hygiene products, and medical supplies. The fall of tourism has made Lightford much less lively and cosmopolitan which is a stark contrast to its usual state. Lightfordian sexuality has been impacted. People have had less intercourses and intimacy due to coronavirus fears. Births are projected to see a dip by 2021. Some sources even projected that deaths will outnumber births by next year which will contribute for the population of Lightford to (temporarily) decline for the first time.

On the other hand though, there are also some positive things. Despite being packed, healthcare is still advanced enough and has been relatively successful at treating the disease. Also minimal deaths have been recorded. In Winterview City, not a single resident has died of the coronavirus probably due to the city having a younger population in relation to the country in general. Some businesses have flourished during the pandemic. E-commerce, for-profit websites, television, social media, and hygiene companies have made large gains. There are several methods of retaining optimism. Music such as Lightfordian patriotic music is widely sung on stream and played on the radio. Lightford's ubiquitous pornographic industry has also seen an exceptional surge. Consumption of it has increased and porn is often used to ease feelings of stress in times like this. Substantial progress for a vaccine has been made. Most Lightfordians think that using the internet to contact the outside world feels the same as in-person was. Many feel that the pandemic can subside swift enough and business can return to usual.

Ejoland has a high prepardness for war. Ejolandic children get civil defence training already in elementary school, and every citizen who is not seriously handicaped have to undergo militia training from the age of 18. So when the COVID-19 pandemic started somewhere far away, the entire population was just put through short mandatory disease control courses, and provided with gas masks with particle filters. Many municipalities alredy had gas masks handed out to their population, though. In those cases, everyone would just bring their gas mask to the course and get it inspected. The borders also became more restricted, of course. Anyone who wanted to enter the country, have to be kept in quarantine for a period, and get tested for the virus. The population was encouraged to stockpile food and other necessities in their homes already before the disease came to the country, so there was not much panic buying.

Most things go on as usual in Ejoland, even after some people have got the disease. People can still move around freely, they just have to use gas masks. People who travel and/or talk a lot in their work, often wear hazmat suits. Ejoland have huge prepardness stockpiles, but some industries have still been refitted to produce protective gear and medical equippment. Partly to replennish the stockpiles, partly for export. The National Civil Defence Corps have been partly mobilized, to assist with the disease control. The same goes for most healthcare reserve personel. Some restaurants are closed, some still function as community centers, but don´t allow eating. Some of them provide take away food, of course with extreme safety precusions in the kitchen. This is also the case with most pie bakeries, which dominate the fast food scene in Ejoland. Many municipalities have closed their schools, others provide extra personel to check that the children follow their disease control routines while in school.

Retirement homes are placed under special protection, and are partly staffed by volunteers who have agreed to live there and stay in quarantine with the elderly. Any staff member who live outside, have to be tested often, and wear special protective gear in order not to spread the virus at their work. The health care system have, as stated above, mobilized extra resources, but still have to work hard with all the tests. Ejolandic scientist, just like those of many other countries, work on a vaccine, and gladly share their findings on this field with the international scientific community.

The republic of cassadia

Citizens of Cassadia, драгиь друзья,

The non-work week in our country is coming to an end. However, doctors, nurses and all medical personnel continue to work intensely.

It is a difficult time for them now. They are holding the line of defence against the advancing epidemic: they are treating and saving people as well as preventing the contraction and development of the disease. I am confident that all Cassadians will share my heartfelt gratitude to our medical personnel.

People working in other fields that are vital for Cassadia and society are also doing their duty now. I would like to sincerely thank you all, without exception.

And, of course, I would like to thank volunteers and people who care, everyone who understood and felt their personal responsibility in countering the epidemic and who strictly follow the recommendations of the authorities and medical specialists, take care of themselves, their families and the safety of those around them.

The nationwide non-work week as well as the self-isolation regime declared in many regions made it possible for us to gain time to take preventive action, to mobilise all the government bodies and to increase the healthcare system’s resources to counter the epidemic as effectively as possible using our own experience and the best practices from other countries.

I believe it of great importance that overall we have managed to protect the elderly from the serious threat so far and prevent outbreaks of the epidemic at kindergartens, schools, universities and other educational institutions.

Of course, now we have to think about our next steps and decisions. Let me stress that when making decisions we have to understand that the threat is still present. Virologists believe that the global peak of the epidemic is still ahead of us, including in Cassadia.

In this context, I have decided to prolong the official non-work period until the end of the month, or through April 30. Let me stress that wages will be retained.

At the same time, the situation is changing, and it is different in different regions and even in individual municipalities. We have a very large country with varying population densities and regions where the coronavirus has already created a serious threat to people. This applies, for one, to Carthage where the trend has not been reversed yet despite the measures taken by the Regional and provincial authorities. Meanwhile, there are regions where not a single case of the disease has been identified, although there are fewer of them as time goes on.

Therefore, restrictions should be tightened in some regions, whereas local, spot solutions may be sufficient in others with a high level of preparedness. These specific distinctions must be taken into account.

In this context, the regional heads will be granted additional authority in line with my Royal Decree. By the end of this week, they will have to plan out a set of specific preventive measures that are the most rational for their regions in terms of the health and security of the people and the sustainability of the economy and key elements of the infrastructure.

Let me repeat that the regions themselves will make decisions that are based largely on the objective situation. These decisions should determine what regime to introduce in a region or its individual municipalities under the Royal Decree, which companies and organisations need to suspend their activities and which can continue operating with strict observance of public health.

Let me add that, as before, work will continue at government bodies, companies with continuous production, medical facilities and pharmacies, shops selling the basic necessities and all vital services.

If there is a need to impose additional restrictions on backbone companies and educational and research organisations, the regions will have to coordinate the decision with the Crown-Government.

It is critical to ensure interaction between different levels of National and local government, including the regional, provincial and municipal governments. I therefore asked my plenipotentiary envoys in the Regional districts to closely coordinate this work in the affected sub-division provinces. All information must go to the Crown-Government Coronavirus Effort Coordinating Board for processing and analysis and be used in decision-making.

Of course, the regional authorities must coordinate their actions with the sanitary and epidemiological authorities. The key and unconditional goal here is proper protection, health and safety of the Cassadian people.

We will see where the situation goes from here and make further decisions and, situation permitting, will adjust the duration of the announced period of compulsory days off to reduce it.

I have another point to make. As we implement measures to combat the epidemic, we must not forget that it is just as important to preserve jobs and incomes. This is a common priority for the Crown-Government, the regional authorities and for businesses. An efficient and steadily performing economy provides the basis for achieving our key goals, including in healthcare.

Fellow citizens, please continue to strictly follow the instructions issued by the authorities and the recommendations of the doctors and specialists, and to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Our shared responsibility and mutual support remain extremely important and, in some cases, decisive. Even this short week has shown that with the proper understanding of the complexity of the situation, we can manage to reduce the risks effectively. I am sure that we will continue to act in the same coordinated and reliable manner. Most importantly, we must be proactive.

I'm not sure what an exact response would be for Evokice regarding covid-19, but there would be a very strict lockdown in place here in Evokice since healthcare is taken very seriously.
In real life, covid-19 is fcking with me because my exams (im in my last year of school before uni) are now postponed by two months which has ruined my family plans to move country since i am now stuck here longer :')

You already know that the Socialist Republic of Ejoland have cut its diplomatic relations to Cassadia, and you know why. We have no interest in any embassy sharing programs with you - you would probably use that for esionage and terrorism. And I don´t use the word "terrorism" as loosly as you. Funny, taken in regard how you go on about respecting each other´s internal affairs.

Our position, based on what our people have decided in several referendums, is that we have nothing to say each other which can not be said in telephone or over radio.
