The Preambule Arc is complete! Thank you for tuning in.

Le réapparition du royaume (EN: The Reappearance of the Monarchy), alternatively Royaume: le Préambule (EN: Monarchy: The Prologue) is a Linkslice of life roleplay series created by yours truly, Illusia and Neverendia. Started in August 2020 as a one-off, boredom post, it escalated into a series of posts that focused on the life of the Illuverendian royal family outside of their responsibilities as well as personal relationships between the characters.

The theme, aside from a slice of life roleplay series, varied from its first post to the most latest ones. It began as a serious one-off roleplay post between formal affairs, and into family time, then into romance and relationships as time progressed. The series is an integral and important part of the Illuverendian canon timeline despite its rather easy-going nature.

Le réapparition du royaume is also the first part of the Royaume series, a full-on varying series of literary stories focusing about Illusia and Neverendia that I am creating - hence its alternative title, Royaume: le Préambule.

This factbook is an index to all the RP posts, alongside, a character biography list for all people involved in the series. Thank you for reading this and have fun!

TECHNICAL NOTE: Due to the ever-increasing size of the factbook, I encourage readers/onlookers/whatever to please use the Table of Contents sidebar on the side to get on to what part of the factbook will they read. It is particularly hard to deal with - scrolling up and down can be outrageously tedious, and I myself got tired of that.

Alyssa Midford

"I strive to get what I have lost in the past." - Alyssa to Friedrich

Alyssa Midford is the main character and prime focus of Le réapparition du royaume, starting from part 3 onward. On part 5 onward, the story continues within the perspective of her eyes. She is the incumbent Queen of Illusia and Neverendia, and rules the state under an Linkabsolutist style of governance. She is the first child of Reinhart von Eisner and Emilia d' Midford.

Appearing as a very menacing ruler once at the guise of her royal attire and sitting at the bounds of her throne, in personal, Alyssa is a soft-hearted and kind being. Behind that persona however, lies her traumatic past, and once harboured a strong sense of vendetta.

A grim past

Thirteen years prior to the timeline of Le réapparition du royaume, Alyssa saw the death of her mother, who had committed suicide, over a marital argument and blackmail with her father, Reinhart von Eisner. At that point, she had lost her entire family, with only her little brother Wolfgang left that she sees as a family to her. Fearing for the worst fate, Emilia's constituent, Azusa Takanashi, interfered, and took the two children into her tutelage.

Takanashi spared no time and told them of the truth. Through her as well, Alyssa grew a sense of hatred, and rapidly descended into a full state of vengeance. Her brother Wolfgang also was gravely affected, and both Midford children sought to get back at their father, at all costs.

Rise to power and achievement of vengeance

In 2047, eight years before Le réapparition du royaume, Alyssa rose to power as the Queen of Illusia and Neverendia; retransforming her mother's legacy of a Linkstratocracy into an absolutist monarchy, much like her ancestors. With the country in her hands, her seething desire for vengeance that had grown ripe was now due for harvesting. Two years after her rise to power, she launched Operation Vengeful Child, successfully capturing Reinhart.

Fueled by her anger and hatred that had been shelved and stacked throughout the years, Alyssa executed her father with no mercy. At that point, she had fulfilled her vengeance, and fell into a state of remorse and grief, as her heart was completely cleared of negativity.

Emilia's return and redemption

Months after the end of Operation Vengeful Child, through some otherworldly miracle, Emilia returned. However, Alyssa was doubtful of her identity and engaged in an arcane fight. She lost severely, but Emilia assured her victory after revealing her identity. Alyssa then tearfully accepted her back into their life, and was keen to show her the achievements she had made for the past two years.

Though difficult, Alyssa managed to shift her entire life altogether. Wolfgang, her brother, personally said in an interview in 2053:

"From being reclusive, blank, and crying all night, Alyse changed ever since Mother came back to our care. I did change too, but I think Alyssa had the most impactful one. She started becoming more approachable... she became very friendly to everyone else, very apologetic, and always ensured she had a smile on her face. She had also started going outside of the palace out of random, citing reasons to "re-connect herself" with things. Personally, it was cute - and I'm glad she has been improving."

- His Majesty, Crown Prince Wolfgang Ludwig Midford, The House of Midford, 2053.

Personality

Alyssa has two personalities, as she states: her professional self and her personal self. Her professional self is primarily concentrated whenever she goes to work - as the Illuverendian monarch, she is strict and very commanding, expecting zero nonsense from her own populace. While she began to be ruthless, after her changes, she became more of a benevolent ruler, and often had royal appearances in many occasions. Despite this, she follows her strict protocol of being a royalty that she had preset upon her rise to power in 2047.

When not at work, Alyssa's personal self kicks in. As herself, she is indifferent to a typical Illuverendian citizen, and opts to wear common clothing in contrast to her regal wardrobe. She is extremely kind and low-profile, and insists that the rules of the country be applied to her as well - in contravention of her own royal protocol. As a civilian, Alyssa is more expressive in her emotions, speaking in everyday Illuverendian language to convey such. She also has a hobby of visiting her aristocratic friends at random.

Alyssa has a special fondness for pastries and baking. Through her professional self, she extensively promoted culinary arts, with more attention focused on baking and pastry making - so far as trying to open a bakeshop within the grounds of the Enigmastadt Palace, albeit the Herrscherrat rejected it. On her personal self, Alyssa's baking and pastry making skills are next to none - as she has a passion for such.

"The world is full of nonsense yet is sensible at the same time." - Wolfgang to himself

Wolfgang Midford is one of the main characters of Le réapparition du royaume. Introduced in part 2, he is the younger brother of Alyssa, the incumbent Crown Prince, and the High Magistrate of the LinkHerrscherrat, the country's legislative body.

The youngest, second, and last child of Emilia and Reinhart, Wolfgang is a more serious, protective and nearly twice as no-nonsense than his older sister. A commander of his own Schwarzbrigade battalion, he exhibits ruthless tendencies and would do whatever it means necessary to finish their job.

Wolfgang's personal attitude is a polar opposite with his sister. Behind his rather menacing image lies a pure and kind soul. Within the premises of the public, he prefers to keep a very low profile amidst his royal appearance. He looks to diplomacy as an answer to problems, a contrast to his ruthless persona.

Childhood - "Raising a Cold-Blooded Man of War"

"Oh, my childhood?... I wouldn't talk about it much, but I think everybody deserves to know. As a child, prior to Mother's death, I was your casual boy - yes, just your normal, run-o-the-mill aristocratic child who's living in a large abode and trying not to break those fancy big vases across the hallway. When she died however... things changed. Alyssa and I became orphans under Lady Azusa. Unlike before, Alyssa and I diverged ways. She grew to become a ruthless queen while I was trained to become a cold-blooded man of war - no compassion for the weak, and no mercy for those who oppressed my way. I had that idea implanted for so many years to come - that I was merely nothing but a tool for my sister's bidding... and for our vengeance."

- His Majesty, Crown Prince Wolfgang Ludwig Midford, The House of Midford, 2053.

Like Alyssa, Wolfgang saw the incident that happened to her mother eight years before Le réapparition du royaume. Taken by Azusa Takanashi out of fear as well of them falling into the hands of Reinhart, the two were orphaned. Wolfgang suffered more than Alyssa, as he was not informed about the death of his mother until the following morning of her suicide.

As the two were orphaned, both of them diverged paths, but sought vengeance. As Alyssa pursued her burning desire through consolidating power over the country, Wolfgang was trained by Azusa to be a soldier. To him, war became more of a mind game, and a relatively easy solution to every problem. As times progressed, Wolfgang grew less compassionate, though sought back to Alyssa, who was on the midst of regaining what the country had lost for a while: a monarchy.

Thanks to their training and experience however, both sides saw no compassion even to each other, and Alyssa treated Wolfgang as a tool to her plans to come to fruition. Nevertheless, Wolfgang accepted his fate - as their intertwined desire was to get revenge on their father.

Rise to power and achieving vengeance - "Applying What I Learned"

"The very day I saw his lifeless body fall flat down on the regal carpet took out a large grieving feeling out of my chest."

- an entry from Wolfgang's diary

On 7 September 2047, Alyssa consolidated power in all of Illusia and Neverendia and reestablished the Illuverendian monarchy under her control. Wolfgang effectively became the crown prince. Under Alyssa's orders, he also took over the Herrscherrat and became its incumbent high magistrate.

Around 1 February 2049, Wolfgang was granted command of the Schwarzbrigade's 13th Division under the behest of the SB head commander, Chihaya of Alcott-Midford, which was his aunt. There, he called his unit as Wolfgang's Wolfpack, and there he also met one of the SB's mysterious individuals, codenamed Totermeister, real name Annika Valhallerens, who then became his second-in-command of the unit.

When Operation Vengeful Child finally started, Wolfgang personally led his division into the attack in Reinhart's home. His division managed to capture him and took him to the palace - in which Alyssa oversaw his execution. Wolfgang witnessed every moment - and much like his sister, fell also into a state of remorse but recovered rather quick and used the opportunity to reconnect with her.

Emilia's return and progression - "Moving Forward from the Past"

"The hatchet has been buried. This ends my tenure as the ruthless Wolfgang everyone knows. Auf Wiedersehen. It was a fun ride. Let's move forward from the past."

- an entry from Wolfgang's diary

Months after the end of Operation Vengeful Child, through some otherworldly miracle, Emilia returned. Unlike Alyssa, Wolfgang did not cast much doubt into her identity. When Alyssa complained to him, he urged her to "sort it out properly". Being rash, she still insisted on a fight, but lost anyway. When Emilia finally confronted both of them, Wolfgang removed every doubt in his mind and spared no expense of time to seek a mother's embrace.

Through the course of Wolfgang's personality transitioning, his relationship with his second-in-command, Annika, deepened, and by the time Le réapparition du royaume started, the two have been in a six-month relationship. Thanks to her, he regained a lot of his emotions, and like Alyssa, his smile.

Along with that, his royal presence gradually increased. His purview of him being a "tool" to his sister's bidding finally faded, and the two had rapprochements, repairing their sibling relationship piece-by-piece. Wolfgang stood by her side as she slowly changed throughout the years. By the time of Le réapparition du royaume the Midford children were entirely new beings.

Personality

Unlike Alyssa, Wolfgang's personality in both professional and personal are the same. He has a tendency to be brutally honest. However, exceptions to the same personality apply - especially in his work in the Schwarzbrigade.

As his unit commander, Wolfgang lives on the saying "nothing personal" - to him, all his actions as a soldier under the SB are, after all, his job. This creed was born after the day Operation Vengeful Child happened, which was a personal operation, but had lifted his spirits. His rather chill behaviour has been revered by his soldiers, and most of his fellow officers envy his persona. Through this, the 13th Division also disproved the unlucky premonitions about the number 13.

Outside of the SB - within royal affairs and his personal life, Wolfgang is a more laidback, diplomatic and friendly person. While his face may look menacing to the normal bystander, his persona is good-spirited.

Emilia Katerina d' Midford

"I'm proud that they have eclipsed my prominence and have gone greater to further heights than what I did." - Emilia when asked about what she feels on her children's achievements

Emilia d' Midford, simply known as Emilia, is the mother of the main characters, Alyssa and Wolfgang. She is the prominent side character of Le réapparition du royaume, appearing in almost every Movement. She is also one of the Queen's Royal Advisors, being the first one, and also fulfills duties of Alyssa when she is incapacitated alongside Wolfgang.

The youngest child of the prominent Midford clan under the Alcott-Midford branch, Emilia was well-known to many as Mary Catherine, or simply Mary for short. At a young age, she was introduced to the world of aristocracy and the nobility. Somewhat around that time as well, she met Chihaya Miyamizu, an orphaned Illuverendian who was a victim of the authoritarian Autriche era, known as the Ekelepoche. Miyamizu was adopted into the Midford household at the behest of Markus, and became Mary's adoptive little sister.

Following the history of their linage, Mary and Chihaya joined the Royal Illuverendian Armed Forces, but were dishonourably discharged for mysterious reasons in 2017. Their influence to the Armed Forces did not mean they left alone, however: many Illuverendian soldiers mutinied, sparking the military half of the Illuverendian Revolution, which culminated in the toppling of the Autriche monarchy on 8 July 2017. Mary was seen as a hero, and even if it was against her own wishes, the Illuverendian Republic was established.

Leading a pseudo-republic and stratocracy

Mary then became the supreme commander of the Illuverendian Self-Defence Forces, the military entity of the Illuverendian Republic, taking orders from the president, Edward Comey. However, the ISDF maintained extreme government control, and while the people believed Mary took orders from Comey, it was the other way around, as the president was incompetent and unable to handle the instability that the Autriches had left in their wake. Eventually, years later, Comey disappeared - and the ISDF took over the government. Under Mary's orders, the Illuverendian Republic was dissolved; it was transformed into the Stratocratic States.

The ISDF then became the Illuverendian Armed Forces, and Mary led the state as its supreme commander. Here, she met and interacted with Reinhart von Eisner, an Illuverendian Gefreiter (private). She and Eisner then had a growing affair, and eventually would be married around 2027.

Marital and personal life, 2027 to 2047

The sudden marriage of Mary was not met with no opposition: Clarissa, her mother, strongly objected to her daughter's marital status, especially being married to a "pathetic Gefreiter", as she puts it. Markus, her older brother, also held strong reservations against Reinhart, but these oppositions were ironed out by the birth of Alyssa in 2029.

Mary proved to be a competent mother and government official at the same time. Her constituents, especially Chihaya, who was her second-in-command, would often take over her military duties in the cases when Alyssa needed urgent care. Reinhart remained in service under his wife's behest, but still spared time for his children at the end of the day. A year later, Mary gave birth to Wolfgang, her second and youngest child. Her versatile handling of her personal life and the Illuverendian nation was renowned upon, even by her parents who were staunchly oppressive of her marriage.

However, her life was not always within calm waters. Mary and Reinhart engaged in several arguments, and had fights, in which some have escalated to have Illuverendian Armed Forces assets break their fights. While they did reconcile, the fights intensified in the latter half of her marital life, which would then end catastrophically.

Divorce, suicide, and resurrection

In 2041, Mary had enough of her being abused by her husband and filed a divorce. As Illuverendian stratocratic law was in effect, Reinhart was also discharged from the Illuverendian Armed Forces, albeit honourably, at Mary's orders. Reinhart and Mary officially parted on 23 October 2041, with her having custody of Alyssa and Wolfgang.

The following year later, on Alyssa's 13th birthday, Reinhart was invited at the wishes of their daughter. While his presence was gladly appreciated by their children, Mary did not. On that night, the two argued, and Mary was abused once more, driving her to commit suicide - in which she did, but not before writing a letter. She was found dead by none other than the birthday girl herself - Alyssa - who had awoke from a nightmare, and wanted companionship. Turmoil broke across the nation after news came out, and her children would bear vengeance.

Mary would not stay dead for long, however. As she wielded similar mysterious powers as her constituent Azusa did, she would come back to the world in 2049, months after her children achieved revenge. She took in the name Emilia Katerina, but was only known on her first name. Alyssa, not recognising her, fought against her, and lost severely. Only then would she realise Emilia was her mother after showing a locket - in which Emilia had given to them on their childhood. Accepting her back into the world, Alyssa changed significantly, and soon enough Emilia redeemed bits of her authority, as Alyssa gave her positions in the government. Emilia, at first, refused to do so, but eventually relented after knowing her previous constituents, and Chihaya, were working for her daughter.

Personality as Mary

In her previous life, Emilia - as Mary, was a ruthless leader, preferring to have things done the harsh way. While she did not care about the Illuverendian populace, Mary did not want her authority to be questioned. This was due to her reading about the Sanadan way of governance, a prolific Strangereal ideology that was rampant around the period of the Illuverendian Revolution. The membership of the country under the Strangereal alliance of Hotel Lala exacerbated her authoritarian outlook even further, and soon enough the people grew weary of her attitude.

After the birth of her children and the eventual end of the Sanadan trend across Strangereal, Mary slowly became more docile and had slow rapprochements to her people. However, her authoritative control maintained, yet she was also susceptible to weaknesses, in which Reinhart exploited that drove her to end her life.

Personality as Emilia

Upon her resurrection, Emilia drastically changed - from a frail and ruthless person to a ladylike noble and an extensively caring mother. After her children had recognised her, Emilia vowed to be more careful to both of them, and to never leave them alone again. As an upstart noble of the higher rank and holding the peerage of the House of Alcott-Midford, Emilia holds a prestigious responsibility over the clan, as its last living matriarch.

On normal occasions, Emilia is a gentle lady who prefers to be on her own space. She is quiet most of the time, but this silence is often seen by other royal advisors as menacing due to her stature and facial expressions. While with her children, however, she is very expressive and compassionate, often going as far as spoiling them much to their dismay. Their royal positions do not make them immune from their own shenanigans, though: Emilia is a very strict parent, and will not hesitate to punish them accordingly.

Despite Alyssa mercilessly executing her father and serving justice to her former life's suicide, Emilia still holds a partial grudge to Reinhart. However, she insisted on her return that the two forgive him, in which Wolfgang did first prior to the story, but took Alyssa long enough - so long that she forgave him only in Movement III. The partial grudge still remains today, yet slowly dissipating.

Friedrich von Brandt

"Just live your life to the fullest." - Friedrich's life motto

Friedrich von Brandt, known by his nickname Fritz, is one of the prominent characters of Le réapparition du royaume. Belonging to the prominent House of Brandt, he was introduced in Movement VII as a noble who accidentally bumped into Alyssa, and would eventually become one of her closest companions from Movement VIII onward, and in Movement XXII, her boyfriend.

Belonging to the LinkHouse of Brandt's Brandt-Lusaminia branch, Fritz lived a life of isolation at first, as he was born during the Stratocracy, where the nobility had been abolished. Born and raised in Hohenscholz, where most members of the Brandt dynasty had been born in as well, Fritz grew up in an isolate environment, as his family had to no longer assert their noble prestige, even if their name was part of the historical dynasty that had brought the country into a first golden age.

From his words himself as he wrote:

"The life of the family during the Stratocracy felt like a stab in the back, not just to us, but to other nobility as well. You can't even assert that you have a von or of in your name, it's useless. Even the officers in the armed forces that were former nobles were treated like slop. It was one hell of an era."

- Prince Friedrich Alexander von Brandt-Lusaminia, Die Familie von Brandt-Lusaminia.

Early life

Nicknamed Fritz, Friedrich was born to the Brandt dynasty's Brandt-Lusaminia branch, the third and most recent branch family of the prestigious House of Brandt. He was born in 8 July 2029, during the peak years of the Stratocratic period of Illuverendia, where the noble ranks and peerages had been abolished. The House of Brandt-Lusaminia, along with the surviving Brandt branch, Brandt-Rossweisse, went to private, keeping the affairs to themselves alone.

During his childhood, Fritz had been fascinated with his family's grandest of achievements, especially to the first patriarch, Emmerich von Brandt. This information was well-available to him, due to the House of Brandt-Lusaminia hoarding all documents pertaining to the dynasty after the Illuverendian Revolution, in fear of being destroyed by the republicans. This fear was exacerbated after the Stratocracy rose to power, in which house patriarch Heinrich Augustus Leberecht collaborated with his fellow branch, Brandt-Rossweisse, to form a secret network to keep the documents free from the Stratocratic Clique's hands.

Fritz's opinion of the Stratocracy dwindled as early as 6 years of age, through his father's words, and the experiences that he showed. This affected him as he grew up, and by 13, he started becoming an anonymous dissenter, writing stories that subtly attack the Stratocracy's hardline policies. Encouraged by his father, he used a pen name, and his stories became well known to a number of Illuverendian dissidents, as well as to nobles that are member of the Stratocracy's armed forces, which also had harboured an amount of dissent against the Supreme Commander, Mary Catherine Midford.

As Fritz grew, he had two siblings that followed, those being Heinrich II and Tabitha, both born in 2037, with Tabitha only a few months younger.

Rise of the Second Golden Age

As the tides of change swept after the death of the Supreme Commander and the Stratocratic Clique began to crumble, Fritz intensified his dissent. The stories that he made now escalated in publications, making its way through newspapers. The Clique, enraged, handed down a bounty of over 4.4 billion Illuverendian marks on him. But this only made him stronger, and the publication of the bounty only helped in plummeting the Clique's reputation.

An attempt to arrest and try him in 2045 failed, when efforts of fellow dissenters and the houses of Brandt-Lusaminia and Brandt-Rossweisse lured the Stratocracy bounty hunters into a trap, known popularly as the Revenge of Franziska, where said hunters perished in a clash with a new contingency of the LinkBrandtians. Fritz felt the pressure on his life intensify, but he stood firm with his decisions. Eventually, in 2047, the Clique fell.

As the Clique fell, Alyssa rose to power, ending the Stratocracy permanently, and re-established the United Kingdom of Illusia and Neverendia. Fritz initially was disgusted at the thought of a Midford, the same family that he had developed a prejudice with, to re-establish the monarchy - a prestigious merit that his family extensively holds dearly with. However, after Alyssa nonchalantly berated her own mother and ordered a number of Stratocracy collaborators arrested and tried for their crimes, his opinion changed drastically, being one of the first people to feel the Midford rapprochement that she would be soon known for.

Rise to the Herrscherrat, forming a bond with Alyssa

In 2050, Fritz's father was handpicked by Alyssa to be a magistrate of the Herrscherrat. Heinrich gladly accepted, but refused to have a co-counsel, unlike other magistrates of the council. Heinrich used this to orchestrate a plan to re-polish the family's reputation, in which he did, with utmost success. Soon enough, Heinrich then assigned him as his co-counsel, but still did not give him much appearances.

During Movements VII to IX, after Alyssa's hospitalisation and subsequent break from royal work, Fritz bumped her by accident, in Grace Park. Although initially nervous at their first contact, and not to mention its awkward nature, Alyssa shrugged it off, and ensured him that everything was fine. Finding a liking on his gentlemanly demeanour, Alyssa decided to go on a "little date" with him, with both enjoying their day.

Fritz got to know more about her, and so did Alyssa. Although it wasn't the first time they met, as Fritz had been present in multiple noble occasions, both sides never took much notice. When Alyssa invited her to the Enigmastadt Palace's gardens and had a little emotional breakdown, she gave him an embrace that sure soon would develop a bond between both of them. Soon enough, Fritz confessed to her, but Alyssa left him with no answer.

In Finale, he confessed to Alyssa once more, this time with the intent of her becoming his girlfriend. She then gave her answer- a romantic yes, sealing their feelings and officially becoming a couple.

Personality

Fritz is staunchly supportive and proud of his family, a trait that most members of the House of Brandt are known for. However, he is always careful of citing his clan's achievements - amidst its popularity to every Illuverendian, and is particularly humble about it, often correcting people to refer to his ancestors, primarily from the Brandt-Mottehausen branch, which is long-extinct.

Fritz can be daringly serious and brutally honest to what he feels owing to his experiences in early childhood and teenage, yet also a jolly person most of the time, preferring to "live life to the fullest" - it being his personal mantra.

As the Prince of Brandt, he spends his time mostly on writing. He is a patron of the literary arts, and he himself is an author. The dissident stories he had made were compiled into a book, and became part of Illuverendian history as a symbol of resistance against the Stratocracy. After the reestablishment of the Illuverendian monarchy, he has switched from dissent to creating fictional stories once more. As part of his effort to win Alyssa's heart, he has often made 'sugary' poems in honour of the woman.

Jeanne Elizabeth

"I have no intention of disclosing my personal life." - Jeanne

Jeanne Elizabeth of Albemarle, better known through her nickname Ellie, or the nomenclature Enigmatic Noblewoman, is an Illuverendian side character, introduced in part 10. An introverted noble and the Countess of Albemarle, she prefers to be in her own room and doing her own business.

Little is known about Jeanne and her personal life - especially if one is not affiliated with the household of Albemarle. However, she and Alyssa are childhood friends, with the latter often escaping the grasp of her parents just to play and socialise with her.

Early life

Ellie was born in 16 May 2030, in her family's namesake town of Albemarle in present-day Historic County of Gathorea, to the nobles Frederick Elwell of Albemarle and Jasmine von Wiedenheft. At this time, the House of Albemarle lost its peerage due to the Stratocracy, which mandated the abolition of the Illuverendian royal government and its peerages. However, the respect to Ellie's family remained high, and the Albemarles were affiliated with the Stratocratic Clique.

During her childhood, Ellie partly abused the connections of her family by going to and fro the headquarters of the Clique to see Alyssa, who was one year older than her. Seeing the need of a playmate, the latter's parents decided to give exclusive permission for Ellie to enter freely. This did cause Alyssa, however, to also abuse said rule, and often escaped the grip of her parents, often going to the estates of the Albemarle family, much to her mother's frustration. Nevertheless, the two were the best of friends.

Like most children of the Illuverendian nobility, Ellie was homeschooled. Although the House of Albemarle trusted the Stratocracy's government, Ellie's parents decided it was best that she stayed at home and to avoid the overly militarised life outside of her house. This contributed to her introversion, with Alyssa the sole person she likes talking to the most.

Alyssa's disappearance and growth

In 2042, as Ellie turned 12, a high-profile incident throttled Alyssa's life into a whole new level of suffering. Her mother had committed suicide due to blackmail and marital arguments. She lost her entire family, with her brother the one remaining. The House of Albemarle learned of this issue, and so did Ellie, who was saddened for her dear friend. Alyssa then disappeared upon being adopted by one of her mother's constituents, but not before she sent a letter to Ellie, noting that "she will be far away for a while".

The latter received the said letter - initially, with excitement, hoping she'd seek refuge in their home. However, seeing its contents, Ellie was saddened, and accepted that she would never return, for a while, at the very least. Her introversion continued to proliferate, exacerbated by the 'loss' of one of the people she saw to be sociable.

Return of a childhood friend, as a leader

Five years after Alyssa's disappearance, news of government change proliferated in the Stratocracy, with them announcing the abolition of the Stratocratic Clique on 7 September 2047. Ellie was surprised - she knew it was her friend's birthday, but decided to wait and see what would happen. On the very day of Alyssa's eighteenth birthday, she became the Queen of Illuverendia, with her coronation and return being widely televised and proliferated through news outlets.

Shortly after her coronation, a day later, she called on all the noble families of Illuverendia, the Albemarles being one of them, and bestowed to them their royal peerages once again. Ellie, being present for the sake of noble affairs, then crossed paths with her childhood friend once more, but much to her surprise, Alyssa wasn't the same, and acted seemingly "odd" and "closed". Nevertheless, she accepted her peerage as the Countess of Albemarle once more.

After the controversial Operation Vengeful Child where Alyssa personally ordered the capture and execution of her own father, she sought back to the people she valued - Ellie being included. In a private conversation at the Albemarles' estate, she and Alyssa had a long emotional talk, with the latter explaining the reasons why she left, why she changed, and profusely apologised for "abandoning" their friendship. The Countess of Albemarle shrugged it off, telling her:

"It's already happened, Alyse. All you can do is to think of the present."

- Jeanne Elizabeth, Countess of Albemarle, Wise Words of Ellie by Alyssa.

Shortly afterwards, the two mended their friendship, much to the countess's annoyance as Alyssa acts extremely childish around her. Of course, this annoyance is just a joke.

Personality

Ellie is a particularly introverted person, and therefore is quiet and/or shy to speak, most of the time. A self-admitted Kleberling, she has the capability to speak all of the Illuverendian regional languages, as well as the capability to use the unified Illuverendian Sign Language.

With Alyssa, however, she expresses a more lenient side in things, but still remains slightly introverted. As both are introverts themselves, they usually communicate in Illuverendian Sign Language when found together. It is a rarity to hear them talk vocally, unless they are in private, or there is a noble occasion. Both share a common suffering, however: when alone, they cannot enjoy their solace, due to the population recognising them. To combat this, Ellie often wears a hoodie while wearing overly casual clothes to blend well with the Illuverendian youth.

Despite her status as a noble, Ellie refuses to engage with such affairs, citing them as a precious waste of her time, much to the ire of her parents, and her guardian, that being her grandmother. Ellie also expresses disdain for being 'policed' still by her own grandmother, despite being at the legal age otherwise to do what she wanted. In terms of noble affairs, however, when she is invited by Alyssa herself, she usually has no choice.

"I'm small, but I pack a punch. Um, is that good enough?" - Annika

Introduced in Movement I as a random character and gains more relevance on the onset of Movement V, Annika Valhallerens is an Illuverendian noblewoman and soldier. A member of the distinguished Valhallerens clan, she is the subcommander of the Schwarzbrigade's 13th Division, being the right hand of Wolfgang Midford.

A pureblood Sarkazian, Annika hails from the illustrious Valhallerens-Wassenschale branch family, with some roots from Kazdel and Sarkaz, but mostly an Illusian family. She is well-known to many, being the CEO of Valhallerens Group of Companies, in which she gained position after it was passed down to her.

Physique

Annika is a petite, brightly-green haired woman. She has green-irised eyes, similar to her hair. Her height is particularly below average, in which she humorously pokes fun of and poked fun at.

A prominent feature of Annika are her two massive protruding horns, which are black in colour, somewhat rugged in appearance, and has several green patterns, akin to her hair. These pair of horns comes from her Sarkazian lineage, and are made out of a hard element that has been compared to ivory. Similar things can be found on Kazdelian-blooded Illuverendians, but with differing patterns. Annika attributes the Sarkazian genes to hail from the Wassenschale clan, which is her mother's family.

An avid enthusiast in fitness, Annika keeps her weight on an average level.

Early life

Like most Illuverendian characters in Royaume, Annika was born during the Stratocratic period. She was born to Asuka Serena van Valhallerens (née Wassenschale) and Karl Wernher Valhallerens, and is their second child, after Illusia.

The culture
Most citizens are Buddhist,Jewish, and Cristian. The kingdom celebrates the birth of Mohammad and the birth of Jesus. We also do fasting, but we have our own holiday! We call it the birth of Russo (the Russian god) and we don’t eat for the entire month of May. But on each night the family can have a nice big dinner and before the sun rises in the next day as well.

Wolfgang Midford
