Welcome back Lemming!

The discourse has been sorely lacking without you!

Todays ranking is the Most Advanced Defense...

Needless to say nothing has changed in ELEVEN days!!!!

Anyone not in the Top 5 needs to buy more from my 'Everything for War and Coup' catalog.

Buy now and buy often.
And as always, we thank you for your support.

Woah. My ranking has slipped. I best stock up.

(OOC Rant)

Ok. Wow. Just... wow. So I picked a response to an issue to essentially favor commerce in regards to a World's Fair/Expo thing... I just wanted to lower my taxes a little.

And it increased my death rate by 24%, and dropped my national average lifespan by TEN YEARS, for a decision that should've had a minor tax adjustment and boosted my economy a little bit.

What the *(&(*&

Is there a place I can complain to the administrators about a poorly designed issue? This is WAY too much.

WTF I can't even. One little pro-economic decision that should've only affected whatever the World's Fair/Expositions are about (which really shouldn't be much) and all of my efforts to raise my lifespan (I was almost up to 40 years) over the last year are TRASHED.

Unfortunately, it seems that the issues enclose a zinger/poison pill at the very last moment. These zingers are NEVER good for your people.

I had one that me to require that all the children undergo celibacy and sterilization classes/ appointments as part of sex ed. This would have been BAD for my pop, so it got dismissed. It has gotten so I just look for the zinger, and skip the issue. I'm sure that is what happened. Very sorry.

They must have been listening to your rant Mads...
Today's ranking is Healthiest Citizens.

The Usual Suspects welcome a returning member back into their group.
Nice to have you back Lemmings.

Well, most of the US didn't do very well in this poll.
While Lemmings (5) and Onyx (10) are in the Top 10,
everyone else is DEAD last!
(At least ElinTol and I are making you look better- Madrocea.)

Do you think I should stop installing Biological weapons on the playgrounds/testing sites?

[ooc: Agreed, the zingers used to be the occasional bit of goofy fun. Now they are downright spiteful and omnipresent.

But then how are you supposed to judge the everyday effectiveness of said weapons on the populace?

Well it does assist with the age requirements...
:)

Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys :)

That really sucks and makes no sense. :/ I guess the place to mention it is the 'Got Issues' forum.

In Lemmingtopias, the fierce annual debate about whether the mummified body of the Divine and Perpetual Emperor Lomax should be tested to see if he was murdered has reared it's ugly head. The mummy is being removed from it's display for the winter, as usual, where it is taken by a special train to the Lemming Mountains to rest at the Winter Palace, where it will also have it's annual preservation work. The body will return to Lomapolis in the Spring, when a new High-Priest to Emperor Lomax will be selected.

Rumours have circulated about his death since the Emperor died nearly 17 centuries ago, but for the last twenty years an on-off battle has raged through the courts between a group of historians and scientists who want the body tested to see if a cause of death can be found and the Imperial Commission who have refused to allow it.

The present legal dispute rests on whether the police are required to investigate a murder that occurred so long ago. Even if the court finds in favour of this, however, it wont necessarily grant access to the body and the dispute is thought unlikely to be resolved for many years.

In Bettisia, we'd agree to noninvasive and nondestructive methods of investigation- FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY!
However having the police look for a Murderer who committed his crime 17 centuries ago, doesn't seem like a good use of your resources. That is unless your people live a LOT longer than Bettisians.

Today's ranking is another popular one- The Largest Black Market...

Ummm...
Never seen this before!
Really. Well. Wow!
Ok the ranking shows that 5 of the US are the Top 5.
(Congrats to Onyx for beating the rest of us out.)
Lemming needs to step up his profiteering however; he is back on page 3.

[Igor: Thy Eternal Emperor ought to have built a Mathive Golden Throne to thuthtain hith life, like mine own Eternal Goddeth.]

I don't know where I got that idea, but it should keep me going for at least forty thousand years. And, Igor, please don't call me a "goddeth". Not in public anyway.

Storm at the Winter Palace

In a bizarre turn of events, the train carrying the Mummified Body of Emperor Lomax has been diverted to an undisclosed location somewhere near the Lemming Mountains after trouble was reported at the Winter Palace.

Monks were filmed fighting one another with brooms, mops and molotov cocktails after a journalist asked the Abbot at the Palace whether the Divine Emperor's body should be tested for a cause of death. It is the first time that the tensions in the monastic community have come to light over the national debate and it appears that some of the monks took issue to the abbot condemning the testing proposals.

The disturbance escalated when local security forces stormed the palace in an attempt to quell the fighting, causing the embattled monks to cease fighting each other and to turn their attention to the security forces in an attempt to defend the sacred space from intrusion.

His Holiness the Lemming Sage is reported to be on his way to the Mountains in order to diffuse the situation before the Divine Emperor can resume his journey to rest at the Palace over winter and have scheduled preservation works carried out.

I hadn't thought about that, sorry.

No, not that I know of. I'd totally forgotten it existed until it popped up for a bit earlier.
