January 3rd, 1837. Outside Parliament Hall, in the capital city of Alstin...

It was a chilly morning as a massive crowd gathered just before the steps of Parliament Hall, where a massive podium was erected in the center. They had gathered from across the nation there to bear witness to inauguration of the new President of the United Republic. After nearly an hour of waiting, a procession arrived from the Domus Regia, with a well-dressed middle-aged man with light brown hair and wearing a broad-rimed glasses and a top hat, at the head. The man, who was the President-elect Alfred Jones, made his up to the podium where Chief Magistrate Ishmael Midas, Council Speaker Thaddeus Hayes, and several members of Parliament, government officials and other high profile guests were waiting. Upon reaching Midas, Jones placed his left hand on a copy of the Lectio Sancti, the Chantric holy text, while raising his right hand, and began to recite the following oath:

"I, Alfred Francis Jones, do solemnly affirm that I will truthfully and faithfully execute the office of President of the United Republic, and, to the best of my ability, shall preserve, protect, uphold, and defend the Constitution of the United Republic of Alstin."
As soon as this done, the Chief Magistrate turned to the assembled crowd "Ladies and gentlemen, Alstinians all," Midas began. "I present to you, the 26th President of the United Republic of Alstin: the Honorable Arthur Jones!!" At that moment, the crowd erupted in applause as Midas stepped away from the podium, allowing for Jones to approach the podium to address the crowd.

"Friends! Alstinians! Countrymen! Lend me your ears!" He began to speak aloud, prompting the crowd to quiet down. "For a century and a half, our beloved Republic has bore witness to countless events. It has experienced times of need and years of plenty; Has engaged in armed conflict, and lasting peace; Has seen old kingdoms fall and new dynasties arise beyond its borders. Through it all, not only we have stood firm, but also have remained true to those values that have been espoused in both the Constitution and Omnibus Canon; Values such as Liberty, Equality, and Justice for all that have become hallmarks of Alstinian Democracy. Those values have now become more essential than ever before. Across the globe, new ambitions have begun to reveal themselves in many old and famous states; Ambitions of imperial expansion and colonization. My fellow Alstinians, if we are to ensure the continued safety and security of our Republic, we must make significant strides and efforts to expand our influence beyond our borders, and export our ideals to new lands. We must undertake a grand initiative to promote a lasting era peace and prosperity around the the world. And it is my belief that only then can we ensure that our destiny is made manifest, and that we remain 'One Nation, United and Free'! Citizens of the United Republic, my fellow Alstinians, lets us unite and endeavor towards a brighter future in this brave new world!"

As soon as he finished, the crowd erupted into a rapturous display of approval, with considerable and applause emanating from them as they chanted: "Jones! Jones! Jones!" Indeed, a new era on the horizon. Only time would tell how the United Republic would fare in it.

Nymareg

January 5th 1837,Winterschlaf Castle, north of Nymeria

The sun was already low, as the King of Nymareg, Nyfanael III. visits the chambers of his son. Lucius, the Crown Prince of Nymareg just arrived back home from the war against the southern Kingdom of Cadomina. As the Warlord of Nymareg, Lucius was the highest authority in the nymarian Military after the King. It was to his acts, that the the final battle against the forces of Cadomina could be dicided in the favour of Nymareg. Thanks to him, the nymarian territory could be almost doubled and spread to the main land. A big achievement for a nation that consisted only of one big island for centurys.
Still, Nyfanael is not visiting his son to congratulate him. The people of Nymareg are celebrating Lucius as their hero and praising him as their new King. His father fears the loss of his power and title. But he is determined to stay the King of Nymareg.
As he enters the room, he sees his son standing at the window, looking into the white mountains. It looked like the sun was almost touching the tip of the highest mountain.
Without taking his eyes of the horizon, Lucius stated:”I knew you'd be coming”
After a minute of silence, Nyfanael replied:”You did? Did the mountains bless you with foresight?”
“No, but I'm sure that even you, the king that does nothing but sitting his ass sore on his throne, realizes what it means for you, if the masses are desiering for a new King”
“There will be no new King!”, Nyfanael shouts.
“Father”, Lucius said: “I just won a war that grandpa and you couln'd finish. The people want me, the ministers want me, the generals want me. I AM THE KING, no matter who sits on the throne!”
Nyfanael raises his fist ready for a punch:”HOW DARE YOU SPEAK LIKE THIS TO YOUR FATHER?!”
Lucius doges the punch, thrown by a man who never was a fighter, but a man who abuses his power, a man who beats his wife his daughter and his son. In the eyes of Lucius, his father was nothing more than human scum.
“King Nyfanael of Nymareg, poisoned by his enemies... how does that sound to you, FATHER?” asks Lucius as he draws a dagger out of his boot.
Falling onto his knees, the King begs:”You wouldn't kill your own family would you?”
“What a disgrace to our country, the King is kneeling”,were the last words of the prince.
As the dagger penetrated the Kings heart, the sun set behind the mountains and the room got cloaked in darkness.
The man died, so did the prince, but a new King was born.
The next morning

The message spread like a fire. “THE KING IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE KING! As a last act of resistace, the Cadominal goverment send an assasin who poisoned King Nyfanael III.
HAIL KING LUCIUS! Long may he reign!”

Tales from afar

It was the middle of the day in the Imperial Palace in the centre of Línghún, the streets were filled with merchants from the south eastern realms as it was common for them to bring food goods to the north during winter in order to make up lost food. The richer families were always the first to be served and the merchants are given permission to set up in the Imperial Walls in order to show off the grandeur of the Emperor.

Fang Liao, one of the southern Viceroys has also travelled to the capital with news to tell the emperor. He gather with him three merchants dressed in fine raiment and walks them to the entrance on the Inner Sanctum, the Emperor's advisor Zhenya Wu meets the name at the entrance. "Greetings Fang Liao, what news might you bring to the emperor?" Fang Liao would return the grace of bowing "I bring news that I believe should not be spoken in the near the ears of the people." Zhenya Wu looked in surprise only few times had lower members of the Jinse Dynasty avoided his question. "Then please follow me Liao".

Zhenya Wu guided Fang Liao into the Inner Sanctum, the merchants show their awe of the design. The floors reflected the images of people walking on them, the dark brown walls with golden imprints of dragons, the throne made from Jade and Gold symbolising the wealth of the emperor. All five of the men would bow before the emperor who sat in his throne, Zhenya Wu would address them. "My lord, I bring forward Viceroy Fang Liao of Min-Zhe and merchants associates." The Emperor thanks Wu. "What is it Viceroy? Very rarely do I see you make the effort to travel to Línghún." Liao would be quick to respond despite the insult "My lord along the coast Merchants have seen reports of 'ships'. They appear to be flying by the accounts of these Merchants." One of the merchants would speak "Yes my lord, they were made out of wood and sail much like our own but their design is different."

There would be a brief moment of pause before the Emperor would start laughing "How comical! flying ships, what a joke. Leave me Liao and take your mad merchants with you." Liao and his merchants would leave in shame. After being guided out of the Palace by Zhenya Wu the emperor would speak to him, "Block and redirect goods to the other Viceroys in the south east, Liao has clearly gone mad listen to traders high on opium." Wu would bow "Yes my lord"

Ashamed with himself Liao would return to Min-Zhe region and then later back to his city of Wenzhou.

January 6th, 1837

The newest Chancellor of the Aleciton Lands, Heinrich Gutenburg was just inaugurated the morning of that day. Hundreds of thousands of Alecians swarmed the capital to see this occur. Nothing else has really happened in the Aleciton Lands, it was awfully quiet, which was rather unusual. Maybe something could happen.

A cold wind is coming from the east.
A mountain so high the clouds lay on it's peak.
A large temple made of ancient stones lays here, above the clouds.
A small child will sit in the very center of this circular sacred place.
A child that will tell truth.

- The XXVII Holy Spirit of the Stone Circle Deities

Mirella Wails stood in the center of the giant arch of ancient schist.
She revolved around her own axis while staying on the spot, enjoing the many pictures that were hammered into the stone pillars over time.
A small picture of a man holding a trident catching a bird fascinated her the most.
"This one mommy" she said while pointing at the mumbo-jumbo on the pillar.
After she noticed that her mom didn't react, she turned around and looked around to see where she was at.
"mommy?" Mirella couldn't see her mother in the otherwise empty temple.
She took a few steps over to the archs outer circle, where the steep cliffs of the Nusadan mountain range begun.
A small pack of birds flew through her field of view, and dived down into a cloud, that hung inbetween the rain forrest covered mountains.
"the trident man is my favourite..." she whispered to herself while swingin her legs through the air, sitting on the edge of the temple.
"So is it, small woman?" a deep voice sounded from behin her.
Mirella almost fell from the edge being startled by the voice.
The monk grabbed her arm, to prevent her from slipping down the wet schist stone.
"Young lady, you must watch out... you could fall very depp." He said to her smiling.
Mirella noticed that he didn't have any teeth.
The monks face froze, and he jumped backwards from Mirella as if he had seen a monster.
"Oh no... my holiness... how could I" the man now whimpered, almost screamed in fear, while dropping to the ground and kissing the stone floor.
"THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS ARRIVED" another monk who came out of nowhere called around the temple.
Mirella was completley paralized by her confusion, while she watched the monks singing and celebrating.

January 10th, 1837, on Hyväämaa, the island west of Suur-Suomi

The winter blizzard blows in the land of the Finns. This appears to be a year like any other, to an outside observer perhaps. But an outside observer could not never truly understand these lands, in fact, such a person would barely be able to tell that this land, the icy far north, was even inhabited. But if anything was for sure, it was that people did live here. Suur-Suomi was a hostile land, but its people had become hostile to adapt to it, and something was brewing in these mysterious lands. One man stood, withering against the blizzard: the Grand Duke. Ahead of him was the final bit of resistance: a union of local tribesmen, assorted angry farmers, and those who wished to do away with the concept of government altogether. The army stormed into the resistance, and it was more of a slaughter than a battle: their disorganised forces simply could not stop the Grand Duke's trained army. With that, the Greater Finland was at last united, and people rejoiced in the streets, for the war was finally over.

The capital would be moved to Viipuri, the home of the Karelians, a smaller group that had little influence. This was mainly to establish a middle ground between Finns and Estonians which wanted the capital to be their homeland's capital. The Grand Duke would lead this country, though a potential parliament was a topic of debate between government officials, with some thinking it would increase popular support, while others believed it would undermine the nation's interests.

Suur-Suomi was finally united, and ready to open up to the world stage. May its national unity hold its people together, for all eternity.

January 12th, 1837
Ruhtenburg Imperial Palace, Stockbuhel, Germania

The orchestra could be heard through the walls of the palace as they played outside; the many drums and trumpets and crashing symbols filling the young, new Kaiser with pride. Pride for his people and his nation. Frederick von Ruhtenburg II was being crowned Kaiser today - he would become Germania's emperor. He looked at himself in the mirror, dressed in his black coat and trousers, and his chest decorated with medals. He looked down to the table beside him, where a pickelhaube sat. A polished, chrome, shiny pickelhaube with a golden eagle atop it. The same one his father had worn, and his father before him, ever since the first Germanian Kaiser. He wanted so badly to put it on - and he knew he had to - but he was held back. He hesitated, as some part deep down said he wasn't yet worthy to adorn a helmet so important to his bloodline and his nation. He took a deep breath, picked the hat up, and placed it atop his head; smiling as he returned his gaze to the mirror before him.

After another 15 minutes, he was led to a room where priests, generals, and nobles were all gathered. The Pope himself was attending to crown him personally; to make his title as Kaiser official. He kneeled down before the Pope, and raised his right hand as to take the Kaiser's Oath.

"Frederick von Ruhtenburg II of the Germanian Empire, son and heir of Alfred von Ruhtenburg VI of the Germanian Empire, do you swear to uphold God and the nation He has given you charge over?" The Pope asked. Frederick was quick to respond with "I swear." It was an oath he was obligated to fulfill; not only to God but to his nation, and his people. It was an oath to put God and the nation before himself at all times. Some previous Kaisers and Kaiserins had fulfilled the oath to their dying breath, while others completely forgot it in the fogs and illusions of personal wealth and luxury. Not him. He would keep his oath, unlike his grandfather, who feasted on cake while the commoners starved. And if it weren't have been for his father, Alfred VI, Germania would have descended into chaos.

"Rise up." the Pope said as Frederick stood from his kneel. He turned around to face the priests, nobles, and generals. "I present to you, people of Germania, your new Kaiser, Frederick von Ruhtenburg II!" Frederick's heart swelled with pride as the room erupted in applause. He was Kaiser now, and the responsibility of his people's prosperity and glory had been given to him by his bloodline and by God. And he planned to not waste any of his time.

Meeting with the Germans to the South

Martin Hjalmarson, the Grand duke, stood silent in his palace in Viipuri. While the public rejoiced, he knew that this nation would not and could not last without allies. While there was no other nation on the direct border of Suur-Suomi, the savages in the unclaimed land posed a significant danger to a young state like his. Therefore, he had asked the leader of Arcanstotska to come to his nation to discuss an alliance. The Kaiser was asked to arrive in Viipuri, to establish trade, communications, and possibly, treaties.

On their estimated arrival date, the Grand Duke went to the port to see whether he could see Germanian ships arrive. The ice in the port had been shattered the morning before, for his arrival, and trade ships were going back and forth, bringing goods from the rest of the country, as most of the roads had been destroyed during the unification war, and building roads in the frozen forests was hard.

Frederick soon received the Finnish invitation to Viipuri, hoping to gain an ally to help in the event should any neighboring city states and minor states decide to team up with each other and gang up on Germania.

January 15th, 1837. Off the coast of Min-Zhe...

After nearly two weeks of aerial transit across the Notos and Central Seas, an United Republic Navy flotilla appeared over the waters just outside of Wenzhou Harbor. The flotilla, consisting of four brigantines and one fully-rigged ship, had left the port of Elmongo on an official expedition northwest to the lands of the mysterious Jinse. The flotilla commander, a 45 year old Commodore by the name of Thomas Bradford, had orders from the President to establish preliminary diplomatic relations of the Imperial Government, and open up limited trade between the two nations.

As the flotilla positioned itself near the entrance of the Harbor, Bradford, accompanied by a company of United Republic Marines, boarded a few smaller vessels, and made their way ashore, and hopefully meet with the local government officials.

Peopled gathered near the entrance to the Harbour where the strange vessel had docked, Imperial Guards sanction of the area stopping people from entering. Merchants, Sailors, Nobles, Servants and Children alike gazed into wonder at the craft gently floating in the air.

News had reached Viceroy Fiang Liao like wildfire, spreading from every echelon of society to him. He rushed from his manner to the Dock in order to see for himself. When approaching the dock he could see the silhouette of the vessel, it was just like the Merchantshad told him two weeks ago. "Made of Wood and Sail". He reached the docks greeted by the City Commander who bowed, he escorted Liao to the man calling him self 'Bradford'.

Fiang Liao appeared before the man wearing a gold like robe with dragon imprints on it.

He greeted 'Bradford' with a Bow. He introduced himself "Greetings I am Viceroy Fiang Liao of the Min-Zhe Region, owner of this city 'Wenzhou', may I ask what brings you to our humble city?"

The Commodore, in wearing his full naval dress uniform and adorned with several awards of merit, quickly snapped to the position of attention, and upon slightly bowing his head towards Liao, he began to speak.
"I am Commodore Thomas Bradford of the United Republic Navy, commander of the flotilla that you currently see before you," He said to Liao as he gestured towards the ships that were positioned at the mouth of the Harbor. "We have traveled here above and across the sheer expanse of the vast sea on the direct orders of the President of the United Republic of Alstin."

Bradford then reached into his uniform jacket, and from the inside pocket, pulled out a wax-sealed letter emblazoned with the insignia of Alstin. "Those orders were to convey the request of the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between our two nations, and the allowance of open, yet limited, trade between us as well. Additionally, I have instructed that this letter, written personally by the President and detailing the aforementioned requests, be delivered to the Emperor himself, for the contents of this letter are meant to be read by his eyes and his eyes alone."

The Grand Duke had a look of displeasure on his face when the airship arrived. Was this why he bothered to break the ice of the port in Viipuri? He quickly shifted his expression when the ship got closer, and as the ship docked in the harbour, being hung with a rope on a mooring post, due to a lack of sufficient infrastructure for airships. Martin welcomed the Kaiser. "I am glad to see our request has arrived and was accepted by the Germanians. Please come into the palace, it's frigid outside, and I imagine even more so for people less used to our climate." He turned around and escorted the Kaiser, keeping a few guards in between them. The palace wasn't too far from the port, and its light shone bright into the crisp winter morning atmosphere. The door was opened and the Duke went inside. Once they had arrived, he sat down on a soft chair. "Please sit down. So, I heard you were interested in an alliance against the raider scum in between us?"

"Indeed" the Kaiser replied as he took his seat, "and particularly an alliance against more than just raiders and uncivilized peoples. I mean a defensive alliance against all threats, other nations included. You're not the only one who needs allies - the tribes and small city states surrounding Germania still pose a threat regardless of their size."

Ferro and Maya looked as the coffin of Ferro’s brother, and Maya’s deceased brother-in-law, was being buried into the ground. Before so, the priest carried out a small ceremony, it was the passing of the throne to his younger brother Ferro, the priest took Ferro’s hand and placed a small pocket watch on it, the priest said to Ferro...

“You, Ferro Helix, swear to uphold the honor of our glorious empire, to uphold our culture and protect our lands from the unwanted?” said the Priest while looking straight into Ferro’s eyes, Ferro replied saying “Yes, in the name of the blood of time, I swear to uphold this nations glory, no matter what the cost may be.”The priest took the pocket watch and stained it with Ferro’s blood he had received in a vile from him. The clock dropped his blood onto his shoe, Ferro held it tight until it stained his hand as well, Anya later her head on his shoulder. The coffin started to be lowered into the ground, Ferro felt like his brother was still with them next to them, his brother had always been there for him, he considered him his dad at times, he rarely spoke to his father after what had happened. What his father did, disgusted his children, and he was overthrown.
