Televisions across all of Satterstan are interrupted by a special news announcement. A female news anchor speaks in the background as a camera turns to face the stage in the Satterstanian Capital Building's conference room-

“We interrupt this program to bring you an important news alert. We are just moments away form an impromptu news conference at the capital building. No word yet as to what will be discussed here, however there are may rumors going around. Vice President Christopher Linox is about to take the stage, let's listen in to what he has to say.”

The room goes quiet as Christopher approaches the podium. He straightens up his papers and looks to the crowd.

“My fellow Satterians, there is no easy way to say this. Today, our nation had just been hit with a great tragedy. Early this morning, our beloved president, Hiro Romano, has died.”

The room erupts in murmurs.

“People, people. Please... I will not be taking any questions. As you can understand, this is a difficult time for us. As of ten minutes ago, I have been sworn in as your new president, for emergency purposes. I swear to you, I will do everything within my power to keep order in this nation. I am nowhere near the man Hiro was, however I will do my best to do right by him and be the president you all deserve. We will be releasing more details later on, however, as you might understand, we are currently still investigating what may have caused his death. I thank you all for your understanding.”

He walks away, and the screen goes back to the news station as they continue their reports.

Thalia had been silently observing the caves as they walked. They gave her an uneasy feeling, however what really stood out were the strange symbols on the walls. The way Ursa looked at them seemed to indicate she might understand at least some of what these meant, however if she did know anything, she wasn't sharing her knowledge.
She had resigned to studying the architecture, as it was one thing she could understand down here. It helped ease her weariness of these strange caves. That is, until they stumbled upon the dead changeling.
"I'm not sure how I feel about this honestly Jess. I think we should all watch our backs in here. Nyx knows who or what is down here, but judging by the architecture down here, it's either an intelligent race, or some beast trapped by said race. Either way, if this dead changeling says anything, it is that whatever it is, does not want to make friends."

Yay!

How goes the RP updates Vardian empire and Saman empire? Filled with enough holiday cheer yet!?

The changeling swarm

“The human is right,” Feithid spoke. “Whatever monster lies in these caves, we must kill it. Remain vigilant.”

“No!” shouted Ursa, who turned her attention away from the symbols. “Lower your weapons.”

“What makes you say that?” Jess asked skeptically, her finger near the trigger of her rifle.

“There are no monsters in this cave,” Ursa smiled. “Though there is something amazing.”

The group of pegasus soldiers looked at each other confused and Feithid hesitated to utter a retort. Before Ursa could continue, the changeling drones snapped to attention, looking upwards at an overlook just ten feet away.

“Would you look at that,” came a voice on top of the overlook.

Snapping her attention at the now populated overlook, Jess saw a peculiar sight. The creature that had addressed them mostly resembled the pegasus accompanying her: it was a mare, it had a white coat and a muddy green mane, however instead of wings it had a small horn atop its forehead. On its right was a tall male human with pointy ears and to its left a stout midget human with a beard.

“Unicorn,” uttered Ursa.

Jess stood with her mouth agape, Feithid looked surprisingly indifferent, her changelings still at the ready. The pegasus troops appeared in disarray, a third of them taking combat stances, another third of them amazed, and a final third terrified. For what would these creatures they were rumored to have killed off millennia ago do to them?

“These don’t look like jus’ another bunch o’ bugs to kill,” spoke the stout midget to the unicorn.

“Dwarven scum!” Feithid shouted up in irritation.

“Do not bicker please,” the unicorn responded, holding her hoof up to silence the dwarf. “As interesting as it is to see a pegasus and human, I am forced to ask you to identify yourselves and your intentions.”

Ursa was the first to step up, confidently looking the unicorn in the eye.

“Major Ursa Minor, commander of this troop of Terra Pegasos and here in aid to these changeling rebels,” finishing her introduction, Ursa turned to look at Feithid and gestured for her to do the same.

“Feithid,” the changeling reluctantly answered. “Leader of these changelings. Searching this cave for resources.”

“What about the humans? What are they doing with you?” the pointy eared humanoid asked.

“Names Jess,” shouted Jess. “I’m just out here looking for fun.”

(OOC:Satterstan)

Her Most Serene Imperial Majesty, Empress Izanami, officially condemns the actions taken by the Satterstan national government in its assassination of Kokotov's diplomat to Kokotovia. The Imperial Government demands repatriations be paid to the Imperial Government, the Civic Government, and the victims family and the handing over of the agent who participated in the attack. The Imperial Government also demands the relocation of all changelings in Satterstan to Kokotov as soon as possible. The Imperial Government is willing to pay for the cost of relocation in order to bring the changelings in Satterstan to safety.

If these demands are not met then appropriate actions will be taken by the Imperial Government against the Satterstanian government and peoples.

I am going to another country to see some family, probably won't be able to post anything, they live in the countryside.

The cheer is oozing out of me at this point, almost as though it was a grossly incandescent glow.

HA-HEY A DARK SOULS REFERENCE!

As for RP updates, I'm working on other stuff (the theological stuff is good at this point, as well as the prose writing and poetry) so it could be longer.

I know I'm awful, and it really does make me sad when I can't update.

Mayhaps as an early Christmas gift, I'll restart my own little sub-plot (but with a timeskip cuz HHHHEEEYYYY drama) and finish that horrifyingly late Changeling thing.

Also, how long has my official title been "Linkin Park Groupie"?

Such is the price of war, the thought strikes me as I look across the once proud cityscape of Andryzen, it's factories and streets blasted down to the proverbial bone. The city hall stands almost defiantly two miles to the east of me, marked out by the smoke that still billows after weeks of prolonged bombardment by the enemy.

VLF.

I spit the venom of that simple little phrase to the ground beneath my boots and stomp down, hard.

Gustav Hendricksonn, my grandfather, died to keep this country out of Kurst’s hands. I will not besmirch his legacy by failing my home here.

Around me the other men of the 113th Mounted Infantry mull and wait in a wide trench dug into the street to protect us from VLF mortar fire.
Our position overlooks the entire city, dug into the western hills of the so-called “Estate District”.

Before me spreads, while certainly no inferno with the light of day drowning out the light of fires, a hell-scape. VLF troops occupy the eastern areas of the city, right to the canals. Blood Gracht, the others call it, where the blood flows like water (or in Andryzen’s case, industrial runoff).

Behind the trench rumbles a Faust armored transport, and I smell obscura drifting from it's armored shell. I'm no supporter of drugs, especially while on duty, but I understand the need for it at times. Andryzen is a meat grinder, no doubt.

I sit and rest my head on the wall of the trench.
I'm tired, but by God I'll make my family proud.

Such is the price of war, I reflect as sleep takes hold.

My word! An RP Update? From me?

*SCREAMS AT THE PARADOX*

So I used a different writing style this time around, and focused on one of the many many regular soldiers serving Vardia instead of high-up politicians or super-duper-special ops types. Did I do good?

I'd write more but it's 10:00 p.m. and I'm apparently a 40 year old man.

So I went to FYE today, expecting to find nothing intersting...I left with Motörhead's Bad Magic, Abbath's Abbath (yeah I know, real brilliance with the name on that one), the special edition of Sabaton's The Last Stand, and Ghost's Meliora. My little brother got that last one, but hey it's still metal (damn good too) so I'm counting it.

Linkin Park is metal. The FYE near me is in a poorly maintained mall, I prefer the other 3 malls near me better, kind of. Mostly just one of the three others better, theys gots an apple sore.

Radio rock, at the most!

I've got three malls near me as well, though my FYE is in the nice one.

But back to the metal thing; try Judicator's At The Expense of Humanity or Sleepy Plessow. John Yelland's vocals crush out most other American bands.

Both are concept albums; the first about the rise of Prussia (and Frederick the Great), while the second is...well, a bit weird.

Doooooooo iiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

It's (begrudgingly) catchy. If I had the choice between it and most everything on the radio, I'd choose Caravan Palace.
