It was 96 here yesterday, and right now it’s 60. Damn Hurricane

Yesterday was overcast and in the 70's. We got to make our burnt offerings.

I really enjoy the green industry. Hardscape is something I’ve always loved, and to be able to do it everyday with the great crew that I have is a joy. I’m glad I’m one of the few who can say I love what I do. Seeing a job site transform As we progress just fulfills the soul. I owe a lot of that to my guys, I’ve got a great crew that works hard. I’m the youngest foreman where I work. I’m proud of that. With my guys we can do anything. They’re incredible. Coming to work everyday and working with guys who enjoy what they do as much as you makes you strive to do better. Hard work never goes unrewarded. Bust your balls at whatever you do, and you’ll get somewhere

Unless your work place is hostile and toxic. Been there; done that.

Today we should all remember the thousands of Allied troops who gave their lives on the beaches of Normandy 77 years ago this day, in the name of liberty and freedom, and to expel National Socialism and the ugly hate it preached from the face of the Earth. To them we owe our freedom.

Semper Fidelis - Always Faithful

Mors Tyrannis - Death To Tyrants

On this day in 1654, The Sun King was crowned King Of France. One of only two Bourbons worthy to be called king, the other being Henri IV

Ear infection and enough poison oak to kill an elephant is what I’ve got. Kill me now I’m tired on my head feeling like it’s inside the damn liberty bell

I've been so inactive as Coros I didn't notice the new arrival, welcome to whats left of the region, Zardania

Today is the 221st anniversary of Napoleons great victory over the Hapsburgs at Marengo.

Those damn inbred bastards

Vive L’Empereur

Today is the 214th anniversary of Napoleons Victory over General Bennigsens Russian Army at the Battle Friedland in 1807. It brought an end to the war of the Fourth Coalition as the 4th decisive French Victory of the Napoleonic Wars, forcing the pompous, aristocratic, Romanov Czar Alexander to suck Napoleons pecker at Tilsit, and rightly so. Divine right to rule? I think not.

Vive L’Empereur

Vive La Grande Armée

But the Russian Winter got La Grande Armée mus=ch as it did the Germans in WWII.

Hitler invaded because he wanted to exterminate its people so the It could be repopulated by Germans. Napoleon invaded Russia to try and force Alexander to honor his commitments made at Tilsit, namely end trade with Britain. Comparing Hitler and Napoleon is ridiculous, because aside from the Russian winter decimating their armies, they have nothing in common. Oh and Napoleon made it to Moscow, Hitler didn’t. But that was the 1812 campaign Russia was invaded. Freidland was in the war of the fourth coalition in 1807.

I just pointed out the effects of the Russian Winter on invading armies and nothing about the motives of the invasions.

Today is the 206th anniversary of the Battle Of Waterloo, where The Duke Of Wellington and Prince Blucher Of Prussia beat Napoleon during his One Hundred Days Campaign. Wellington being celebrated in Britain is a bit absurd, having only won the battle due to the Prussians saving his ass. But the British were finally able to establish “a balance of power” in Europe. So balanced in fact Britain would not have another power with an equivalent amount of power and influence for another one hundred years. Way to go Britain! Damn aristocratic hypocrites.

If Ney had been Napoleons chief of staff instead of Soult, With Either Soult or Suchet on the Left flank, and Davout instead of Grouchy on Right flank, things would have developed very differently, In regards to The Waterloo Campaign that is. Ney would’ve made a great Chief of Staff due to his bluntness, Suchet and Soult for their strategic brilliance, and Davout isn’t Called the Iron Marshal for nothing. And also, considering how many times Suchet and Soult whipped Wellington in Spain, I don’t understand why British people insist Wellington is some great General. He won a battle any idiot would win 60 percent of the time. Sit and wait for your allies to bail you out. Which is exactly how the Coalition Armies carried the day. They had the numbers and the time. The rain meant Napoleon was never going to be able to attack and win before the Prussians showed up, which meant the campaign was already over.

Sorry for the rant, I’ll get over it eventually

History is filled with blunders that were either brilliant or tragic. The WWII invasion of Fance was a combination of both.

The Fall of France was made possible for the Germans by the utter ineptitude of Maurice Gamelin. The French should’ve had him shot after the war for his stupidity.

If De Gaulle or Leclerc had been given the armored corps they wanted it would’ve been a competitive campaign.

Von Mainsteins plan, executed with Brilliance by Guderian, Rommel, amongst others, was absolutely brilliant. Once Sedan had been taken, the campaign was already over.

And then Hitler mucked up the works.

Normandie is without doubt the greatest liner ever built. A shame I couldn’t have sailed across the Atlantic on this ship in 1935.

Those were the days of elegant travel for those who could afford it.

The Iowa’s and The Richelieu’s are the most beautiful battleships ever built.
Likewise the Surcouf and the I-400 are the coolest Submarines ever built. Talk about thinking outside the box!

On this day in history in 1941, the greatest theater of war in history began

Sadly, the days of battleships going toe to toe are long gone,
