ACT ONE:

It was a cool, bright morning in the Artemissi capital of St. Ophelia. Rays of sunshine peaked through the partly closed curtains of Madison von Marigold’s room within the Royal Palace that overlooked the wretched waters of the Tsyemny Sea. Streaks of warm gold that lit up whatever it touched peaked their way into the room from the outside, staring in from the almost-invisible windows. The bedroom smelled of a mixture of an animal and enough perfume to smoke out an entire residential house, but due to the Crown Princesses rather eccentric lifestyle, countermeasures that locked the smell in her room hid it from the common nose that would walk by.

As the grandfather clock outside the room chimed, signaling that it was finally reaching 9am in the Verusan Kingdom, the alarm clock within Madison’s room went off, signaling it was finally time to wake up for the princess. But it was never turned off. As it neared 9:15 the staff on the living quarters side of the Royal Palace finally decided it was finally time to take matters into their own hands and wake her up if she refused to get up. One of the staff, June Adrien-Smith rattled the locked doorknob, letting out a groan before reaching into her pocket and grabbing a set of keys, going through them until she found a golden one that promptly opened her room. She slowly opened it, taking a second to breathe away from the room after getting hit with a wave of perfume before returning to going to wake her up.

“Ms. Madison, it is time for breakfa-” she stopped her sentence dead in her tracks, “Ms…” she looked at the body that had been sprawn out on the floor, Madison’s blonde hair being everywhere with the bottom section of it stained in a cherry read, her nightgown stained red opposed to its former white color with a large gash where the breasts were. June let out a scream at the top of her lungs as the rest of the staff rushed towards the room, all joining together to look at the body from the doorway. “Call an ambulance!” one of them screamed while another called for a doctor. They could do nothing more than stare at one of their royals that was left lying on the floor, with a thrashed open cheek and a pool of blood surrounding her body.
