Kenny groaned, "Do we have to get up this early? I really do want sleep..."
"Shut up," Karlai retaliated, "We're still roughly half a day away from the border, dammit."
"Longer than I remember it to be," Raubert comments.
"No one asked for comments, Raubert."
"No need to be so grumpy about it."

Everyone could tell Karlai was rather grumpy since she woke up so early just to drive. They all decided not to bother her and let her do her thing. The people sleeping on the floor got up and carried themselves back onto their seats before Karlai went ahead and accelerated the van as she turned on the headlights.

"The border's still a ways away, right?" Karlai asks.
"Check the GPS," Kenny replies.
"Goddammit Kenny, I'm handling the wheel! Could you do it yourself this time?"
"Fine, fine, calm down first."

Karlai sighs heavily, her eyebrows rather creased up from her frustration due to Kenny's stupidity. She tried to shrug off her feelings and continued driving down the lonely road. "Yeah, roughly 600 kilometres away. I think that's... half a day away?" She sighs at the realisation that it's still going to take a while. A long while, that is.

The minutes inch by, and the van filled with complete silence as Karlai continued driving. "What radio stations do you all like?" Karlai breaks the silence as she asks. A flurry of replies comes right at her, making her grumpy once more. "For Mai-Illison's sake, one by one! You lot are not children." The answers this time arrive one by one, before Karlai plays one of the radio stations at random since they all could not agree. The deafening noise of the radio fuzz remains for a seemingly agonizingly long time. Anger musters up in Karlai's mind before suddenly a connection is finally made. Albeit, the signal was absolutely horrid. The sound is very fuzzy and crackling at some points, but at least there's music. Finally, there's something to listen to instead of hearing the tyres grinding against the snow-covered dirt and gravel road. "Ah, much better. What station is this, anyway?" Clint asks. Karlai responds, "Uhm..." before muttering unintelligibly to herself. "I... myself don't even know," Karlai mutters under her breath, "not that it matters. Music is music, enjoy it while it lasts." No response can be heard from Clint, but he is seen nodding.

With the help of the music, it appears that time is passing faster than ever. The songs simply pass, one by one, all blending together into an absolute blur. Before even realising it, half a day had passed, and they unknowingly passed into unchartered territory. Of course, the music was still audible, but now it was even harder to hear, since they were out of proper Narmossian borders. The signal of the radio stations weren't even meant to spread out past Narmossian borders anyway. "Back to silence we go, people. Signal's too fuzzy," Karlai announces, before shutting off the radio for good. Everyone groans in disappointment like little children, since the music was the only thing keeping most of them interested. "Kenny, can you get behind the wheel again? I'm sleepy as hell, you should have thanked me for taking this on," Karlai asks. Kenny nods, before Karlai pulls over to the side quite suddenly, jerking everyone to the left. "Urgh, what was that for..." Raubert managed to sputter out before returning back to his slumber. Kenny and Karlai get out of the van to switch seats. As Kenny eagerly gets into the driver's seat, Karlai immediately begins trying to fall asleep, but it's hard to when you can feel the warmth of the seat. "How long should we drive?" Kenny asks, before being greeted with one response of "Until you reach the coast!" from Leila, another crew member. Kenny nods before driving off. Since now they're out of Narmossian territory, the road no longer exists. It's simply mounds upon mounds of snow.

"This is so stupid. Karlai, how far is the coast, anyway?" Kenny questions Karlai. "Oh, when? I don't even f*cking know..."
"You literally have GPS, moron."
"Oh, right. My bad."
Kenny nods, before turning back to the road to focus back on driving. He mutters, "Can you just tell me?" No response is seemingly heard from Karlai. "Double what we've already crossed." Kenny bangs his head on the wheel, groaning, "You've got to be kidding... This will surely drive me crazy..." Raubert, who is eavesdropping on the conversation, chuckles, "I could give it a shot."
"You b*stard, you don't even have a license!"
"We aren't in Narmossia. We're literally driving through Terra Nullius."
"Right!"
They all have a small laugh, before the silence returns. It's going to take the crew a while. A long while.
