Anyone knows the algorithm for calculating "market value" of the trading cards? Sometimes I buy cards that have a really high value, and right after the purchase the market value is reevaluated to less than the value I bought the card for. Other times I buy a high-value card for much less than the market value, and the market value is almost not affected at all by the transaction.
It’s important to note the actual price you pay, as sometimes if you pay high enough over the previous bid it will go to a lower amount than what you bid. On your second example I think you should look at the amount of trades its gone through, as the rule of large numbers would dictate that basically any deviation from the average would basically be moot after a certain point. But yes, I too find market values frustrating, and I feel really dumb for overpaying sometimes :(
I use it a lot when I put up an ask for epics, but other than that it doesn’t really concern me, unless I think I can get a hit on a card, then I’ll sell it.
Edit: It’s unrelated but I was searching for a ‘most valuable card’ and the card I deemed the most valuable (that is to say I discounted commons that had been artificially raised and what not) was ‘soops’ but I haven’t heard a whole lot about a ‘soops’ does anyone know why his value is so high?
Anyways, congrats to Kuriko for the commendation!
