A region is a community of nations that roleplay with each other and socialize.

Porflox wrote:Hi there! While joining the World Assembly (WA) isn't required, it's strongly encouraged. By joining and endorsing HumanSanity, you're helping our region get more power and influence. It'll probably take less than a minute, and would help a lot. To your question, 10000 islands is a really big region, and we offer a lot of activities! The first thing to do is to create a forum account (https://10000islands.proboards.com). This allows you to access some fun regional activities and start earning tacos! You should also join our discord if you like chatting with others like you. Finally, if you're more into role-playing, we have a role-playing thing over in A Taco Archipelago. If you're interested, go introduce yourself there.

Also, our region has pretty strict rules over posting twice in a row, so I'm going to go ahead and give a friendly reminder on this :)

oh sorry

New teethburg wrote:oh sorry

No problem! We tend to be really strict, but just remember the rule in the future. ANother I'd recommend is going through our welcome dispatches above to read through rules and other stuff.

You only have ONE life. Don’t ruin that with depression and unhappiness. It’s OK to be sad. Do something you love every once in a while. Treat yourself well. Don’t restrict yourself, turn off the news if you feel overwhelmed. Speak to those you love if you worry. And Remember: Life is beautiful. That’s all I’ve got to say.

Good news, they went up by another 1% and all it took was to legalise streaking. This country is really clucking weird.

Durrnil wrote:wait does that mean nearly every irl country does child labor?

i mean in a way, is just no so much nations care depending in the job, like oh no that kid is a graphic designer or oh no that kid is helping in his family shop in the evenings, see doesnt read so bad

Durrnil wrote:wait does that mean nearly every irl country does child labor?

I mean, child labour is legal but also very restricted. It doesn't usually work with countries that have compulsory education.

Depends on the definition.

Wikipedia defines child labour as such:

> Child labour refers to the exploitation of children through any form of work that deprives children of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and is mentally, physically, socially and morally harmful.

It's perfectly sane and can be very good for children to do "work", meaning something useful or something that gives an income, as long as they enjoy it, can learn something from it, and also get enough time to go to school and play.

I have returned from hibernation from the RMB. While not being on NS that much I learned that my great-grandfather was an absolute chad. He served in WWII in the Air Force, was a Lieutenant Colonel, flew 14 missions, commanded over 600 men, took control of over 300 planes after the other two leads had to drop back, on that same mission when he returned he thought he was going to be court-marshaled, and was married to my great-grandmother for 61 years. Any more questions about him?

I think it's important not to forget why child labor is wrong, and that wikipedia article sums it up quite nicely I think.

We have some traditions that involves children doing seasonal work, there is more and more discussions about it every year. Yet, according to that wikipedia definition I think it's not "child labour" when it only involves working for a short season, when the children fully decides themselves if they want to do it or not, when the parents agree (and not because they are too poor to deny it), when it's not a full-time employment, when it comes in addition to regular school and play, and when they get to keep all the money.

One of them is children (from 9 years and up to adult age) cutting cod tongues, in some parts of the country that's considered a cultural heritage, this work is supposed to be done by children and not adults. If I've understood it right, to get around the laws against children labour the children are considered to be self-employed, I guess they are "borrowing" the fish and then selling the tongues by the kilogram. Some professor was quoted in the newspaper saying the biggest issue is that they easily earn too much money, the children are too young to learn about economy and budgeting. I tend to disagree on that, I think nine year is a good age for starting to learn about saving, budgeting and planning.

So what happened to Kotoko Utsugi in Danganronpa AE: UDG is considered child labor while being a child prodigy in music and getting employed in a band does not?
