No worries bro, we'll be patient

Fun fact, the continent of Africa is big enough to fit all the continents of the world within its borders. And yet, the maps never reflect this. Can you imagine how big Africa must be?

How the hell is that possible

That's not accurate I'm afraid. It comes second to Asia.

My scientists tell me this is not even close to the case. However, Africa does procure an abundant amount of raw materials. Asia being the biggest landmass on this planet; stretching out 44.58 million kmē, while Africa is about only 30.37 million kmē. Still a big continent nontheless.

Several African countries, if they had teh right economy and good leadership could be rich do to their resources. The Central African Republic for instance is home to some of the largest sources of Uranium in the world, and just south in the DRC their land is rich with resources such as diamonds, among others. Only a few countries in Africa have tooken advantage of their resources, those mainly being Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Morroco. They are all some of the biggest oil producers in the world (Equatorial Guinea is as well, but their leadership is below par and their citizens live in poverty). I hope some countries can follow in their footsteps as well.

I do think Asia is bigger, but I'm not a...map...scientist.

Greetings from Christmas. And congratulations on being able to refound such a renowned region, I have would have messaged sooner but the region is very busy in the preparations for Christmas so as an apology have a free crate of sprouts. We always seem to have some spare.

Yes, that is true, Africa has a ton of natural raw minerals that technically makes Africa a rich continent.
It cannot fit all of the continents obviously, but it makes up for it by being so diverse and a cultural powerhouse.

Breaking News:
The first case of Pelmos flu on several months has been recorded in Mwanza, a Tanzaniquan port city along the coast of Lake Victoria. This case was reportedly a doctor, who had returned home from the TCDC Pelmos research center in Dodoma, where he had been working with other doctors to help improve a vaccine. He recently started portraying symptoms, and his family then alerted authorities, who then contacted the TCDC, who then moved him to one of the old Pelmos quarintine centers in Dodoma. All people he had been in contact with since he returned from the TCDC center (Close to 500) Are all currently being found and quarintined.
The last Pelmos outbreak (The first in recorded history) Led to cases being reported throughout Central Africa. The TCDC is alerting nearby countries such as Equatoriana and Zambique to be vigilant of any future cases, but as of right now, cases outside of the Dodoma-Mwanza area seems unlikely.

Disclaimer:
Yes, I'm aware that this post is being posted when possible Ebola cases have been reported in Tanzania irl, and the whole controversy that has come out of that. I jus want to say, that I hope that these cases do end up coming out as negative, and that the main outbreak in the DRC comes to an end.

OOC: I was wondering when we'd get this going again
Cure/vaccine research in Zendonia has been painfully slow - partly since the Zaire branch of the State Institute for the Advancement of Medicine is not as cutting edge as its counterpart. Final preparations of the original facility are ongoing, however, it may be some time before it is deemed safe.
No new cases have yet been reported in Zendonia, but the People have been advised to stay vigilant.

In Other News:
The Supreme Council yesterday voted in favour establishing an interim governing body in Showme - closely modelled upon the special autonomous territories of Zambique. A large scale withdrawal of military personnel from the country will happen in the next few weeks (as per the demands of Zamundana - who have agreed to assist with the administration of Showme), though a sufficient contingent of troops will remain in Showme to provide security in the Zendonia-administrated areas of Showme. Several Party officials are being interviewed for temporary posts on the new government, and after the situation is sufficiently stable, power will be returned to the locals.
It has been noted that a new terrorist group calling itself the "Movement for the Freedom of the Showmian People" has surfaced - proclaiming to fight what it calls "the Zendonian occupation of the homeland". Senior intelligence operatives have determined that this group is nothing more than a rebranded New Showme - a group which terrorised the Showmian people for its own selfish gains. Rest assured, they will be dealt with.

Zambican People's News Network: International Attention to the Zambican Special Autonomous Region Model

In light of the apparent collapse of order and stability in our neighbouring countries and the rise of criminal and warlord-like factions threatening the livelihood of innocent people both in their own realms and against out Socialist Republic, our nation has taken the steps necessary for the creation of Special Autonomous Regions, or SAR's for short. Zambique seeks to provide stability to these nations until new administrations from the locals can be formed (OCC: Basically once actual player-nations claim those territories). Thus far, Malawi, Eswatini and Zimbabwe-Kontinento are under this SAR system. Under international supervision from the UN and African Union members, Zambique is to administer these regions as mandates until local leadership is ready to take over. To be absolutely clear, these SAR's are not annexed by Zambique, as our country does not seek territorial aggrandizement or have ambitions like those of our formal imperialist masters. Our constitution declares Zambique's commitment to bettering humanity and those in need as our commitment to international solidarity (hence our large foreign aid budget), and the suffering of others, and threats to our own livelihood, being major motivators for our actions.

Seeking to avoid the mistakes of colonial regimes in the past that exploited the former mandate system of the League of Nations, Zambique will afford considerable autonomy and local self-governance to SAR's under its mandate. Democratically elected and controlled People's Civil Councils are set up in every village, town, city, county and province in the region to handle local needs and matters of administration. On the national level, a Grand People's Council, with joint local-Zambican membership, administers each region on larger-scale issues affecting an entire region. Civil Rights and Liberties that are enjoyed in Zambique itself are also guaranteed in the SAR's, with local committees and councils overseeing enforcement and systems in place to properly oversee human rights complaints.

At the request and invitation of neighbouring nations, Zambique is also willing to commit to joint administration duties with neighbouring countries to ensure an atmosphere of regional trust and mutual supervision to prevent abuses of human rights. (ie. Tanzanique help mandate Malawi, Delgasolavia and Sar-aksum can assist in mandates over Zambia, and A z a n i a assists with Eswatini & or Zimbabwe). Mistrust can easily arise from a single nation's unilateral actions, and as such we wish to avoid such misunderstandings with our neighbours and fellow Africans. It is our firm hope that the success of these SAR's can provide a model by which the African Union can provide order and stability in regions affected by societal collapse and ensure all people can live their lives in freedom, peace and equality. We also hope that our initiative is not taken up by those eager to expand its meaning to the limits of annexation and imperialist delusions of grandeur under a false humanitarian mirage as the European colonists once did to us.

In other news, our country has maintained its vigilance towards the spread of infectious diseases since the last outbreak spread to our northern territories. We will continue to work on a cure with our African comrades across the region and collaborate with our neighbours to contain any further spread.

(OCC: I hope this can be the restart of the region's RP, always enjoyable to hear from everyone here.
In light of Tanzanique's other post, I have the sincerest hope that the real-life diseases and outbreaks of ebola are ended. There is little we as individuals can do except for not forgetting real people who suffer daily from such tragedies. We'll do well to remember that.)
