Have you guys heard the new Paul McCartney album yet?

Ok then

Zadtsland

Nope, can't say I have.

On behalf of all nations in Atlantis, we wish you all a Happy, safe and active 2021 and hope that in the coming year our regions will build friendship through our Embassies.

A Discord would be useful if the volume of conversation on this RMB would become overwhelming and requires splitting off into groups of topics requiring their own channels.

Perhaps if Flibblers posts Flibble more often? ;)

Here is a post to help you on your way to such volume.

Hello! I'm a nation looking for a good Antarctic region that I can become a part of.

The Voltarum and The antarctic ascendancy

Hello Antarctic friends! ^_^

There are only two days left to submit your photos to this year’s Forest Photo Contest! Submissions will close on January 21st at midnight GMT. Anyone from a region that has an embassy with us can submit photos.

If you haven’t dug out your best photos yet or snapped some great new ones for the Contest, I highly suggest you do so. We have four great categories this year!

You can find all the full information here:

Forest Photo Contest 2020

.

2020 has undoubtedly been a year like no other. The general consensus is that it’s been crazy if not outright terrible. But with the holidays and the new year just around the corner, 2020 is finally coming to an end. Before we move on to a hopefully smoother 2021, though, there’s one last thing that needs to be done: the sixth annual Forest Photo Contest!

Here's what you need to know:

🌲 We have four categories once again this year:

  • LinkTrees (this category is permanent each year)

  • LinkLight & Dark (photos that display astounding lights and/or shades)

  • LinkSeasons (photos that represent one of the seasons or a certain time of year)

  • Link2020 (any photo that resonates with or represents this crazy year)

🌲 You may submit up to 12 photos total. You may choose how to divide those among the different categories, but please do not submit more than 12.

🌲 Please post your photos in the appropriate thread on our forums, located Linkhere. You may also submit photos via a link to an image hosting site in a telegram to Mount Seymour.

🌲 The photos must be taken by you, but can be taken at any time (not just during the contest).

🌲 Anyone in Forest or in a region which has an embassy with Forest may submit photographs for the Contest.

🌲 Timing:

  • Submissions will be open from December 18 at 00:00 GMT (7:00pm Dec 18 EST) to January 23rd at 23:59 GMT.

  • Voting will begin on January 23rd at 23:59 GMT and end January 30th at 23:59 GMT.

🌲 Voting will take place on a Google Form. Needless to say, please no puppeteering!

🌲 The photographers with the top three photographs in each category will have their photos acknowledged on our RMB, on our World Factbook Entry, and potentially in our next foreign update. A banner will also be created with a collage of the top photos to applaud the winners, and participants in the competition will be encouraged to add it as their nation's custom banner. Forest's flag will also be changed to the 1st place photos in each category for a week after the Contest.

Now it's time to head out and start photographing! Good luck to everyone!

Any questions about the Contest should be directed to Mount Seymour.

Was there some sort of normalistation of national trend scores some time in mid-late 2017? I'm just looking at my scores for recreational drug use (see: nation=zadtsland/detail=trend?censusid=60) and I've been trying to select issue responses to increase it for several months with little success - I used to have a pineapple fondness rating of over 500, which is much higher than the current world leader... what's going on there?

[edit] - I did allow my nation to go dormant for a while, could it be related to this? (although other national trends weren't affected in the same way, so I'm inclined to believe the dormancy isn't the issue...)

Thank you! I guess I can stop drugging the water supply now...

We should make one

I would be happy to make one, but I really don't think its necessary? We sometimes go a month without a board post =\

Atlantis is holding Winter Games on the 1st Feb to celebrate our region's 18th Anniversary. You are welcome to participate if you wish. Details in the dispatch.

Welcome to the Atlantis Winter Games
Held 1st February 2021 to commemorate the 18th Anniversary of Atlantis.

To Commemorate the 18th Anniversary of Atlantis, Winter Games have been proposed to bring nations sporting heroes together to foster friendship and peace between their nations. The Games will begin on 1st February 2021.

Host | The Games | Sign-Ups | Participants

The Host
The Games will take place at the snow-enveloped Lemming Mountains in The Teachings of Lemmingtopias. The Lemming Mountains, in the North of the country, have for millennia been considered sacred ground and are dotted with monasteries, temples, academies, hermitages and thousands of shrines to the Hellenic gods and Lemmingtopian mystic spirits. The largest complex is the Winter Palace, which will serve as a backdrop to the sporting events and which is the min residence of His Holiness the Lemming Sage outside of the Capital. The Winter Palace is also the resting place of the mummified body of the Divine and Perpetual Emperor Lomax during the winter months. Medal recipients and select dignitaries will be invited to a private audience with the Emperor in his mausoleum.

Athletes, Dignitaries and spectators will arrive at the Lomax Winter Station after a journey from any major city or airport in Lemmingtopias. From here, a funicular railway takes you high above the station to the Winter Palace Complex. Limited access to the Helipad can also be arranged on request. Here, Athletes will be welcome by the Lemming Sage prior to being transported to their team facilities and the athlete village. Rooms are available at the Winter Palace for foreign dignitaries. With the exception of a few pensions near to the winter palace, Hotels for spectators are available at any of the nearby Mountain Towns, most being around one hour's transportation to the site of the Games by rail or coach.

The ancient stone amphitheater has been extended with temporary seating to allow for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies while modern venues for the sports already exist and have been upgraded for the occasion. To ensure the safety of the ancient and sacred site, special routes have been laid out for spectators to follow with free tickets required to access the Winter Palace Complex or any of the nearby monasteries and temples. Temporary facilities have been installed to make the area comfortable for visitors as well as to ensure the safety of the site. Some mountain peaks have also been made available for visitor climbing.

The Games
Several Events across four sports will take place:

  • Bobsleigh

  • Ice Hockey

  • Figure Skating

  • Cross Country Skiing

The antarctic ascendancy

The Antarctic Ascendancy would like for its intentions to join the Grand Army to be known. How does one apply for membership?

ooc, the Grand Army is a remnant of roleplaying from a looong time ago. The info is mostly there for posterity.

ic: "All nations in Antarctica may join, there is no application. The current general will be in touch with your nation for coordination and paperwork."

Flibble.
