Help help I'm being suppressed? Fascinating. It appears as if EuroIslanders proposed an embassy with us as well, looking at the history, they were a RLA power and they had a few close allies amongst them at one point, might warrant taking them up on the offer.
Yeah, Euroislanders was one of the major leftist regions together with us and TPC back in the day.
I have been trying to kill my national animal (the chinchilla, it's on my flag) for YEARS but no matter what I do (eat them, clear cut the forests, remove protections, etc.) they're still around. Personally, I love chinchillas. In NationStates, I'm trying to kill them (to make the point that Glenn Beck hates cute animals, I guess). Ideas? How to wipe out your national aminal?

I did reject a couple of invites from two regions that had three members between them of which I'd never heard and had no reason to believe shared our ideologies. I suspect we were picked because our region name begins with an A. I hope that's ok-- I don't want to be cluttering the Factbook with embassies between regions we don't know...
Fa Niente, I have no idea how to kill your national animal, but I suspect eating them might actually help them. Have you killed the hybrids too?
I've got to admit I have a fondness for chinchillas too. I couldn't ever have one. Even if we could bring it back and forth to France, which I don't think we could (currently I think it's just cats, dogs, and ferrets) I suspect the Akita would eat it.

Eco was on the forums a few days ago so he'll probably check in again. Not sure about Weegies though as he hasn't checked the forums since last November.

Not me. I can be amused by having misleading news in my inbox. I am not amused by being hijacked, especially as I have no idea if any of what the engine threw up was visible to any of you. Fool me once, shame on you. Hijack my identity and use it to fool others, I am very, very angry.
Nobody got hijacked, it was a script and all these messages where fake that nobody saw. As I thought part of it was to get people to think about their passwords.
Well, that's okay, but from what I was allowed to see, it appeared that someone who wasn't me was posting insulting messages from me, to you, on this board. I have no puppets, so I couldn't check back to see what you can see, so I couldn't be sure I wasn't unintentionally spouting insults at you. I rather like you people, and I don't want to insult you!

Aw, cheers, FS! I'm just glad you didn't see some of that stuff... some of it was innocuous, but some... seriously, if it had been another day and anyone else, I'd be tempted to boot on the second offence. Nastiness makes me an unhappy bunny. Oh well, no harm done!

Hey X, just out of curiosity, how are you deciding which regions to establish embassies with? I see that you've accepted "Communist International" but rejected "Coalicion Internacional Comunista", for instance?
I accepted Communist International because I seem to recall them being nice to us in the past. When I received the invitation from Coalicion Internacional Comunista, the invitation contained information having to do with a number of factions/regions and kerfuffles happening between them. I visited their region and found the board to be crammed with some rather vituperative infighting, enough that a mod had felt it necessary to come along and ask them to chill. It really looked like a lot of inter-NS trans-regional scuffling of the sort that we wouldn't like to attract, so I TG'd them back to say that we are a peaceful region, had no interest in raidings and takeovers, that I wasn't aware of the particular affair in which they were engaged, and I didn't think it would be in our best interests at this time to exchange embassies, but perhaps in the future, if they got themselves settled, we could revisit the arrangement. They got back to me to say that was cool.
Was that okay? I hope that was okay...
Is there any gameplay significance to embassies anyway?
I don't know, but I was cautious about having the ACA publicly displayed as having an embassy with a region in open conflict, apparently with itself as well as other regions. It just didn't seem prudent.
Seems like sound judgment to me, just interesting to know what's going on!
I've got 42 of those funky little icon thingies on my country page (basically, I think, for being bat shiat insaney). Anybody got more?
