OOC: Yep. They have really started beefing up the game now.

OOC: Naming the national newspaper and terrain would be nice, in order to add more detail to the nation. Apparently there's one other big new feature coming in Feb, so we will have to wait and see what that is.

OOC

Hey, I joined this site about 5 years ago, I think. That's almost a quarter of my life. Weird.

OOC: And just when you thought you were out, NationStates dragged you back in.

I've been NSing nearly six years.

I found NationStates completely by chance - I was on a forum, and somebody there posted a link to NationStates. And the rest is history, as they say.

I used to see the person who posted that link on the old NS Jolt forum for quite a while after joining, I never got round to thanking them for posting the link on the forum we both frequented. They've long gone CTE as far as I know.

...I think I've been using NationStates for 8 years, if I'm counting correctly, and have been part of Asia for about 7. Dear lord, that's a long time.

I, too, could have became a normal person in eight years, but instead wound up here. At least with these updates I'll get a shiny badge for having a big population.

And, um, yeah, been rather busy with the so-called real life, with activities including ridiculously long workdays, involuntarily shortening my fingers and terrible handwriting of 15th century monarchs, and haven't thus been able to respond to the cruise RP. I will be able to do so after 4th of March, hopefully before that.

^same gotta register soon! >_<

OOC: Just realised, I have been at NS nearly 6 years already, as I've just hit six years in December with Norf Korea, judging by NSuite and reviewing my memory, and now it's 2011....

Don't rush on the cruise ship Seby. We are all a bit busy in different ways and I would probably not be able to RP until getting into Mid-March anyway.

Hi Asia,

I left the Middle East because I lost sleep from those noisy protestors and I’m tired of trying to dodge sniper bullets. I hope this place is more stable.

Greetings from President Thavornat!

The mighty heritage of the Thai people has risen from the ashes of history! A new Thai state wishes to secure it's historic and rightful place at section 88 & 89on the Asian map.

It's the deepest hope and highest desire of the Thai people in their self determined community, led by their President, to extend an offer of peace and economic diplomacy to all peoples in Asia.

It's our contribution to add to the wealth of Asia, both cultural and economic!

In supplication to all our Asian friends and neighbors,

President of the Free Community of Nattakun,
Peter Thavornat---

Welcome, selamat datang, etc, Nattakun. (Since no one else has said it. ;) )

What awful timing - (s)he left 4 days ago...

oops. Must learn to read.
*goes to boost education funding*

XD it was a nice gesture, though, and I'm sure your people will get a button for compassion!

OOC: ...the heck is with people appearing, demanding map spaces and disappearing? Come to think of that, I did consider welcoming Nattakun, but with the connection I have currently (a portable internet, or whatever you call those thingies that attach to the USB port and *supposedly* allow you to have at least a decent transfer speed), I couldn't be arsed to check if the claims interfered with Sebytania's (mind that while I'm personally OK with not having the areas that are until further notice occupied by Sebytanian troops, IC:ly it may lead to at least a diplomatic crisis - depends on the nation as well as the player in question), and thus didn't welcome Nattakun on my behalf. It seems as though he/she wasn't enough interested in the region itself to stay, anyway.

I hope people around here, especially those keen to RP, have not lost hope on reviving the Asian RP community. My apologies for not having posted during the weekend, but I was simply too busy with all kinds of IRL activities at all times to do so, with the few hours of not being either being filled with desperate attempts at doing actual studies. But the following week, apart from tomorrow (8th of March, a day that has both Christian and pagan traditions, but is mostly nowadays used as an excuse for grown-ups to ride a pulka or similar device downhill in the Nordic countries, as well as an excuse to start boozing early in the morning by students), I'm pretty much free to arrange my schedule how I see fit, and thus should find enough time to at the very least keep/get the cruise ship RP going. My next three months should be pretty much like that, as well. So all of ya, beware, we may very well get some ol' good RP going on here sooner or later, possibly and hopefully sooner.

PS. Congratulations to Norf Korea for ranking 1st in the region and 6th in the world for being the Most Extreme!

OOC: Thank you, thank you.

I noticed Nattakun's message, wanting a 'rightful' place on the map when he had only just arrived, and when alot of other nations had been around longer and waited patiently for a place on the map so as to ensure that the map updates did not have to be continously updated because of the risk of new nations placed on a map having left as soon as they arrived.

I noticed too, that Nattakkun has now left after wanting a 'rightful' place on the map, and not willing to patiently wait his turn.

I would not feel bad about not welcoming him, if he could not wait, he could not wait.

Flag updated!
The four fathers of Shingland have announced this morning that a national flag will be announced to celebrate our second anniversary of our independence! The flag will have a sword representing our brave solders who have fought in the past and who are making sure that our country stays safe. A fish will be on the right representing our stable economy and our growing nation. On the top there is a dove representing peace in Shingland.

OOC: All, is it just me or did everyone get the same issue this time around? I have several nations in different regions and we all got the same issue, the one about gay marriage...

OOC: Yes, I noticed that. It might be something to do with a server re-config or back-up in the case of NS going down, but in such cases like that, you usually get the same issues as the day before, not the same issue to many nations.

Probably the issue allocation had an off-day, perhaps wrongly caliberating that multitudes of nations equalled one nation rather than one nation equalling one nation as usually the case. It could be a one-off event or a bug. If it happens tommorow, the admin will get on it to resolve it. In fact they probably already are looking at it to make sure that does not happen. I'm fairly sure they run test nations to make sure mechanics are running smoothly, and will soon notice it.

Post self-deleted by Norf korea.

OOC:

An update, and as expected, the admin have posted on the forum that they are aware of the problem and are looking into it.

The problem will probably be resolved soon.

That's a relief, darling.

OOC:

Yeah, seems to be fine now, at least I now got a non-gay marriage one.

OOC: Yes Rumbipura my dear lovely, it is a relief isen't it?

The issues are still bold until dismissed or chosen, something which appeared with the issue bug. It seems to have been a matter of the reconfig to make the unaddressed issues bold sparked the bug. Re-configs can cause unforseen side-effects, one little change here can cause an unrelated change somewhere else.

OOC:

That one may very well also be just a new feature. Similar to how many e-mail interfaces bold or otherwise highlight unread messages.
