ATTN:
Greetings Barbarians,
I hope everyone has enjoyed their holidays, and were safe in their travels. Now that everyone is coming home, done playing with their new toys, this couldn't be the best time to make an announcement for the next Regional Map Update. I will not only be re-working the entirety of the map, but also expanding it as a whole. I plan on dividing the entire project into seven sections, each being its own layer of information, details, etc.
Section 1. Political Map
The political map will encompass the political boundaries of each nation-state, and will include the nation itself, colonies, overseas territories, etc. This map will function with two versions; a political map without labels, and another with labels. There will also be inset maps of each continent, region, and sub-region. These regions and sub-regions can overlap, depending on their proximity to each other.
Section 2. Geographic/Climate Map
The geographic-climate map will be a hybridization of visually representing geographic features, like lakes, rivers, mountains, etc. and climatic features like biomes, ecological zones, etc.
Section 3. Ethnic Map
An ethnic map best expresses where exactly certain groups of a culture exist, live, inhabit, etc. By definition an ethnicity is a group of people who share a culture. A culture could be ethnically homogenous, or heterogonous.
Section 4. Culture Map
A culture is a greater identity that is shared among groups of ethnicities; which would include similar customs, beliefs, or behaviours. Cultures can also exist outside the political boundary of a nation-state, and aren't tied to a political identity, or nationality. Some nations have multiple cultures existing in within their political boundaries, and can be native or foreign. There are nations that are only populated by one particular culture, who tend to have deeper roots to the soil than others.
Section 5. Religious Map
A map that visually represents the presence of religion, or irreligion, in the world.
Section 6. Diplomatic Map
A map detailing the geopolitical positions of blocs that exist in the world. These blocs are categorized as multilateral alliances of likeminded nation-states.
Section 7. Government Map
A map visually representing what form of government rules/governs a nation-state.
This is going to be an ambitious project of mine, so it's going to require a lot of time and data to complete. This is where you come in, and you play a big part on how accurate this map project comes out. I need you to copy/paste this template, fill it in, and submit it to me via telegram. Whether you are old, or new, you are required to complete this if you want to be accurately displayed on the map. Any information that is left out, will be filled in by yours truly.
1. NS Name: (The name of your nation on NationStates)
2. Display Name: (The name of your nation that you want displayed on the regional map)
3. Government: (Explain in your own words the type of government you have)
4. Climate(s): (Explain the climate(s) that encompass your political boundaries)
5. Ethnicity: (Explain the ethnic makeup of your nation; by name, percentage of the total population, etc.)
*Optional: You can send me a map of your own that visually shows me where exactly/vaguely these ethnicities live in your country.
6. Culture: (Explain the culture, or cultures, that inhabit your country; by name, percentage of total population, etc.)
*Optional: You can send me a map of your own that visually shows me where exactly/vaguely your cultures exist in your country.
7. Religion: (Explain the religion(s) that exist, or lack thereof, in your country; by name, percentage of total population, etc.)
*Optional: You can send me a map of your own that visually shows me where exactly/vaguely these religion(s) exist in your country.
8. Geography/Climate: (Explain, in detail, your nation's geography and climate. Specific geographic features like lakes, rivers, canals, mountains, glaciers, ice sheets, etc. must be visually represented via dispatch/factbook for more accuracy)
9. Diplomacy: (If you are part of a bloc, or multilateral alliance with geopolitical presence, please identify which one you belong to)
10. Other: (If you have any additional information that would best help me to fully visually represent you on the next regional map, you can reserve this question with miscellaneous data/information)
I will be accepting all submissions from January 15th, 2025 to March 15th, 2025. This should be enough time even for newer nations to submit the information they could gather, and made amendments (if needed) until then. The date of the next map update will be announced in the near future, but don't worry, I will be having the political map come shortly before the additional sections are added, which will give people even more time to provide all the needed data, until the official publication of the map project. In the event that a resident (that qualifies to be on the next map update) doesn't provide any information, they will be simply greyed out, and bestowed upon the label NO DATA, on the map.
Sincerely yours,
Aravam,
Regional Cartographer,

SIC: The brothel buzzed with anticipation, its opulent interior alive with murmured conversations and the soft clink of glasses. Tonight was a special night. Word had spread that Seraphina would grace the stage again, her performances a rare treat that had become almost legendary.
Vasco sat in his usual secluded spot, partially hidden in the shadows. A glass of red wine rested in his hand as his lilac eyes scanned the room with practiced indifference. But his attention sharpened the moment the murmurs subsided, signaling the beginning of the night's performance.
The lights dimmed, and the band struck the first sultry notes of "Como Acostumbro." A spotlight illuminated the stage, and the room held its collective breath.
https://youtu.be/YRx6P1Zl8wE?si=0mlkq7j810IZyi-O
The curtains parted, and Seraphina stepped into view. She wore a black, strapless gown, its bodice so daringly low-cut that it revealed the swell of her breasts, barely held in place by thin, shimmering fabric that caught the light like liquid silver. The dress clung to her curves, the slit along one side baring a long stretch of her leg with each deliberate step she took toward the microphone. Her dark hair was swept to one side, cascading over her shoulder, and her lips were painted a deep, enticing red.
She paused at the microphone, her posture both commanding and impossibly sensual. The first words fell from her lips in a low, velvety tone, dripping with intimacy.
"Desperté
Y te busqué
Te acaricié
Cómo Acostumbro..."
Her voice was a caress, each note imbued with longing. As she sang, her hand traced a slow line down the microphone stand, the subtle movement drawing attention to the curves of her body. The spotlight caught the faint sheen of her skin, the soft rise and fall of her chest as she poured emotion into every word.
In the audience, men leaned forward in their seats, enraptured by the sight of her. Women exchanged knowing glances, admiring the raw power of her presence. But Seraphina's attention was elsewhere. Her eyes, dark and smoldering, skimmed over the crowd until they settled on Vasco. At the end of each verse, her gaze lingered on him, an unspoken challenge in her expression.
"Y tú
Sin volver a mirar
Y se quiera hablar
Cómo Acostumbro..."
Vasco's lips curved into a faint smirk, his disfigured fingers tightening around his glass. He leaned back in his seat, the picture of nonchalance, but his eyes betrayed him. They followed every movement she made, every sway of her hips as she turned to the crowd, her dress shifting to reveal just enough to drive the room wild.
As the music swelled, Seraphina moved with it. Her hips swayed to the rhythm, the slit of her dress parting to reveal the smooth curve of her thigh. She leaned into the microphone, her lips brushing against it as she sang.
"Yo casi sin querer
Tú pelo roucer
Cómo Acostumbró?
Pero tú
Volviste a dormir
Cómo Acostumbras?"
She stepped back, letting the dancers take the stage. Their vibrant costumes swirled around her, but Seraphina remained the focus, her every movement commanding the audience's attention. She lifted her arms above her head, her gown shimmering as she spun, the fabric clinging to her like a second skin.
In his corner, Vasco watched her with an intensity that he couldn't hide. The way she commanded the stage, the way she moved, the way her eyes returned to him with each glance-it was impossible to look away.
"Cómo acostumbró
Todos los días
Voy a sufrir
Voy a llorar..."
The lights dimmed slightly as the song shifted into a softer, more intimate verse. Seraphina moved to the edge of the stage, her steps slow and deliberate. She lowered herself onto the edge, her legs crossed, the slit of her dress parting further to reveal more of her smooth, flawless skin. Her voice dropped to a husky whisper, wrapping around the audience like smoke.
"Cómo acostumbró a sonreír
Cómo acostumbró puede que a reír
Cómo acostumbró el fin voy a vivir
Cómo acostumbró?"
She tilted her head slightly as her eyes found Vasco again, her lips curving into a slow, deliberate smile. This wasn't just a performance-it was a conversation, one only the two of them understood. Vasco raised his glass in a subtle toast, the corner of his mouth lifting in acknowledgment.
The music swelled again, and Seraphina rose gracefully, her dress shimmering as she moved. Her hand slid down her side, drawing attention to the curve of her waist, the daring cut of her gown leaving little to the imagination.
"Después que el sol se irá
Yo regresaré
Cómo Acostumbró...
Tú, tú ya no estarás
Al no regresarás
Cómo Acostumbras..."
She turned, her back to the crowd, the fabric of her dress dipping low enough to reveal the curve of her spine. The audience erupted into cheers and whistles, but Seraphina didn't react. Her focus remained on Vasco, her steps slow and deliberate as she moved across the stage.
By the time she reached the final verse, the room was electric.
"Cómo acostumbrás regresarás
Cómo acostumbrás me sonreías
Cómo acostumbrás me engañarás
Cómo acostumbrás?"
She held the last note, her voice soaring before fading into the silence. For a moment, the room was still, the audience holding its breath before erupting into thunderous applause.
Seraphina stood for a moment, her chest rising and falling as she caught her breath. Her gaze swept over the crowd one final time, but it was Vasco she turned to before disappearing behind the curtain.
In the shadows, Vasco leaned back, his smirk deepening. He lifted his glass to his lips, the taste of wine sharp against his tongue. Seraphina had done more than captivate the room-she had reminded him exactly why she was unforgettable.
The final notes of “Como Acostumbro” lingered in the air as Seraphina stepped gracefully down from the stage, her heels clicking softly against the polished floor. The men near the front erupted into cheers and whistles, their applause ringing through the brothel. Some even called out playful compliments, hoping to catch her attention.
Seraphina paused at the bottom of the steps, her lips curving into a teasing smile. She lifted a hand as if to blow a kiss, but instead, she waved them off with a laugh, her dark eyes glittering with amusement.
“Gentlemen,” she said smoothly, her voice low and playful. “Save your voices for the next act.”
The crowd erupted into more whistles and laughter as she turned away, her gown shimmering with every step she took. The slit of her dress revealed the curve of her thigh, and the sway of her hips left a trail of longing glances in her wake.
As she moved toward the staircase that led to the private rooms, a few bolder patrons called after her.
“Seraphina! One dance with me, just one!”
“Or a song, perhaps? Something more personal!”
She glanced over her shoulder, her smile both coy and knowing. “You couldn’t handle it,” she replied, her voice carrying just enough edge to make the men chuckle and groan in mock defeat.
Without another word, she ascended the stairs, her hand trailing lightly along the banister. Her movements were deliberate, each step measured to emphasize the elegance and sensuality she wielded so effortlessly. She knew the eyes of the room were still on her, and she relished the power of it.
When she reached the landing, the noise from below began to fade. The air grew quieter, heavier. She walked down the dimly lit corridor, her gown whispering against the floor. Finally, she stopped before the familiar door.
Inside, Vasco waited.
He sat in his usual spot, his posture relaxed but his eyes sharp as they followed her entrance. The shadows played against his features, softening the hard edges of his jaw but not the intensity of his gaze. A glass of wine rested in his hand, the deep red liquid catching the flicker of the lights.
“You’ve made quite the impression,” he said, his voice low and smooth.
Seraphina closed the door behind her, leaning back against it for a moment. “It’s what they come for,” she replied, her tone light but laced with something more.
Vasco arched a brow, his smirk deepening. “Is that all it is? A performance for the masses?”
She crossed the room slowly, her heels clicking softly against the wood. “Do you think I’d let them see anything real?” she asked, stopping just short of his seat. She tilted her head, her dark hair spilling over one shoulder. “That’s reserved for more… exclusive audiences.”
Vasco chuckled, setting his glass down on the table beside him. “Exclusive, am I?”
She leaned in slightly, her voice dropping to a near whisper. “Wouldn’t you like to think so?”
For a moment, they simply looked at each other, the tension in the room thick and electric. Then Seraphina straightened, stepping back.
“You could’ve joined the crowd,” she teased, walking toward the balcony that overlooked the main room. “Whistled and cheered like the rest of them.”
“That’s not my style,” Vasco replied, watching her every move. “Besides, why compete when I already know where you’d end up?”
She turned to face him, her lips curving into a slow smile. “Confidence suits you, Vasco. Careful it doesn’t become arrogance.”
He laughed softly, the sound low and rich. “It’s a fine line, isn’t it?”
Seraphina moved to the chaise near him, sinking onto it gracefully. Her gown shifted as she sat, revealing more of her leg as she crossed it. She reached for the wine decanter on the table, pouring herself a glass.
“You enjoyed the song?” she asked, her tone casual but her eyes searching his face.
“You know I did,” he said, leaning forward slightly. “But you didn’t sing it for them.”
She took a sip of her wine, the glass lingering near her lips as she considered him. “No,” she admitted finally. “I didn’t.”
Vasco’s smirk returned, more knowing this time. “Good.”
The night stretched on, the brothel under them bustling with life, but in that room, time seemed to slow. For now, the world outside didn’t matter—only the space they shared, the unspoken words, and the electricity that lingered between them.
IC: Seizure of the Great West
Witnessing the collapse of Oreusa, the Neo American Union seizes the opportunity to take their territory, and fully integrate it. In the midst of the government's dissolvement, American soldiers and tanks march right into the former capital, and raise the Union flag. The Triumvirate makes a proclamation that it is within their Manifest Destiny to absorb as much of America as possible, and deter the potential encroachment of Hyperborean and Rodinian interests. Those who attempt to stand in our way will be destroyed, without any mercy!

"Wrath of the Falcon" - The Prelude to War
As all diplomatic efforts have failed between Songhai Mali and Sovern, the dispute over Ieona falls upon the determination of might, rather than words, to settle it once and for all. Kaiser Otto I. appears before the UNB floor to make his final statement, before further action is taken.
"Representatives of the United Nations of Barbaria, I want to make it clear, that despite our attempt to resolve our dispute with Songhai Mali with diplomacy failed, we will still do whatever it takes to insure that the Sovern flag remains to wave proudly over Ieona, even if it falls to war. We are not hesitant to unleash our wrath on the Malians; civilian or soldier, officer or royal. We have warned them, but they failed to understand. They will be faced with the consequences of their actions, as we bestow infamy upon all man. On behalf of the Imperial Federation of Sovern, I hereby declare war on Songhai Mali. May God have mercy on them, because we sure won't."
Kaiser Otto I. steps down from the floor, and his representative to the UNB, Aren Jaeger, takes up the stand.
"...I want to inform the assembly here, that any nation that so much as attempt to collaborate or support Songhai Mali by any means during the war, will be labeled as participation, and will be faced with retaliation. Any nation that dares stand in the way of our ambitions is an enemy, but those who are wise and stray away will be unburdened. We will still maintain a line of communication with the government of Songhai Mali, and we will be willing to sort out all grievances, by means of fully recognizing our hold on Ieona, and the complete surrender of all Malian armed forces. Sovern will not be taking in any prisoners of war, for all enemy combatants captured or surrendered will be executed, or otherwise killed in combat. This applies to officers, civilians, and even nobles. This is what all of our enemies deserve for coming between us, and our goals. That is all...thank you."
Barely an hour passes after the war declaration, before five (5) fleets of the Sovern Navy conduct their first operation against Songhai Mali. In a swift, and fast attack, Sovern warships pinch Songhai warships and civilian vessels back into their maritime territory, and begin to assault with missile strikes from Sovern's newest class of cruisers, forcing the Songhai warships to fall back closer to their coast, allowing the Sovern fleets to blockade the entire Songhai coastline, closing all attempts for goods or vessels from leaving their ports, without being sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Several Sovern warships have taken some damage from Songhai counter-attacks, but the aggressive pinching maneuver has kept Songhai Mali the chance to repeal the onslaught. The entire coastline would eventually become flanked from all sides, forcing the Songhai Mali on the defence.
Meanwhile, ten (10) divisions of the Sovern Expeditionary Forces in Ieona have improved their positions on Ieona, and have begun conducting small-scaled assaults along the Songhai-Ieona border, as a way to keep their defences on high alert, and hesitant to attack or retaliate. Reinforcements from the mainland are in route to improve their supply chains, and provide additional manpower to repel a potential Songhai advance. Crown Prince Joseph II. was appointed as Military Governor of Ieona for the duration of the war, and is put in charge of the defensive capabilities of the entire territory. His brutality is surely make the Songhai quiver and shake before his ruthlessness. In addition, The Sovern government, with the help of Alezabar, has successfully formed an alliance with the Turag Berbers in Northern Songhai Mali, and will be working together to disrupt Malian control over the region. Armed to the teeth with Sovern's advanced line of weapons, the Turags will disrupt Malian security in their northern most regions.
The assault continues...

After Mr Otto does introduce himself to everyone, King Leopold the III comes up to Mr Otto, tea in hand. "Mr Otto, Shall we head up to my office to discuss the treaty?"

Otto casually nods, and then follows Leopold to his office as he waves back to the kind folk he met from the parliament.
IC: King Leopold the III leads Mr Otto to the office, which is right next to King Leopold the IT'S former office, which is not off limits but to only family and a key few individuals. In King Leopold the III's office, they arrive at the desk.
OOC:
Greetings Barbaria,
As you all may know I am currently running for the office of the Domestic Affairs Minister, and I intend to deliver to you my future plans. In my vision, I plan on using all my powers and authority to not only safeguard the UNB Charter, but to also enforce the duty that I will be bestowed upon, with great honour. Unlike the incumbent, Bajookietopia, I do not have any experience in the regional government, but also unlike my other opponent, Dankest Kekistan, I don't shroud my intentions, or use intimidation or coy for my own personal gain. I will spend the time I have acting as a peacekeeper and a proper moderator for the RMB. I plan on using my power to prevent unnecessary wars, prevent instability, and utilize my ambition solely for the general wellbeing of the region. I will not use my diplomatic affiliations or connections for personal gain, and I will not let politics disrupt my integrity.
If I am being completely honest, I initially ran for the position to prevent Dankest Kekistan from taking the office, for I fear they will abuse their power the moment they are enshrined with this duty as Domestic Affairs Minister. There has come time and time again that Dankest Kekistan has bullied, harassed, and even scolded their fellow barbarians, and that is not an example that should be in the seat of power. I don't want to put names out there, but I've seen enough evidence to make out what kind of character he truly is. In regards to Bajookietopia, while their intentions are within the frame of preserving the region's integrity, he left out other important responsibilities that comes with being the Domestic Affairs Minister.
If you want to vote for my other candidates, please note that you will come to eventually regret it. Vote for me if you want integrity, grit, and honour. Thank you all.
