The eastern side of the Roxium Federation Cape of Good Hope Territory is dealing with a heatwave, and heatwaves have a tendency to put increased stress on the electrical grid due to people turning up their air conditioners. So several of the territory's arcane fission power plants have slightly increased their power outputs and plenty of auxiliary or secondary power plants have come online to meet power demands. At the same time, the Tiyang-Po Arcane Fission Power Plant has brought its number 3 reactor back online after replacing its failed coolant pump.
In Paradise Beach, a large coastal resort city on the Roxium/Monsone, a major attraction called the Paradise Beach Aqua-Zoological Park has decided to capitalize on the heatwave by offering discounted admission. The Paradise Beach Aqua-Zoological Park is a combined zoo/aquarium/theme park/water park. The zoo and aquarium parts of the park feature a wide variety of both terrestrial and aquatic plants and animals from the various territories and planets of the Roxium Federation such as the Gangnam Kraken, a species of kraken found in abundance in Roxia Prime's Gangnam Sea, and the Serpentine Swamp Dragon, a carnivorous reptile that looks like a Chinese dragon that calls the various swamps of Roxia Prime its home.
Mixed in with the zoo and aquarium parts are the theme park section, home to a wide variety of rides and roller coasters. Some of the park's most famous rides includes Mangrove Flyer, a Thriller Dynamix inverting swing coaster, Shen-Tami, a BnL hyper coaster, Scorpion, a Starmen looper coaster, Cliff Hawk, a BnL dive coaster, and Lion's Pride, a former Pinewood wooden coaster that was turned into a Krauss Mount Construction hybrid coaster. Attached to the aquarium side and part of the theme park is the water park section. Here you will find plenty of water slides, a wave pool, a roller coaster with trains that have attached water guns, several pools, and a very large lazy river system with river rapids sections.
The Paradise Beach Aqua-Zoological Park is less than 800 meters from the Roxium/Monsone border, so people in Monsone near the border should be able to see some of the park's taller roller coasters along with the many, many highrise buildings and skyscrapers of Paradise Beach.

The Monsonian government has encouraged the visit to such park, however the majority of people prefer a visit to Boskejhnortk and other northern regions where the temperatures range 20°C to 30°C. Such regions are more remote but Anchorage, the regions main gateway does have an extensive international flight portfolio.

McClellan Lunar Way Station experienced a failure in its artificial gravity at its commercial warehouse section earlier today. Diagnostics have determined the failure to have been caused by an aging graviton pump. The pump has been replaced by a temporary emergency pump but many are still concerned of a complete system failure in all the other pumps. The lunar central command has issued a statement saying that they will see if the can move the date for replacing the system to next week.

Roxium space technology firm Astro Technogistics has offered to provide a graviton mass field generator (Roxium device that uses a combination of technology and magic to generate a field of gravity. Considered an essential part of spacecraft, space stations/colonies, and facilities on asteroids and planets with low gravity.) at a discounted price.

The lunar command post of the Army Corps of Engineers has turned down the offer on the grounds that the artificial gravity system was not constructed with the use of mantel in mind as the concept is only now being taken seriously.

Residents of Monsone living near the Roxium border may have noticed a show called Cyberforce Maxim airing on TV. Cyberforce Maxim is a highly influential anime from the Roxium equivalent of the 90s, and is considered the first "cybercrime" anime and one of the first to make use of CG animation. Cyberforce Maxim's influence can still be felt today in a much more modern anime, CyberSpec Security, which also airs on Monsonian television near the border. Both shows can be found on Network Otaku, one of many anime channels in the Roxium Federation.

TV Channels? Since 2016, Monsonehas stopped using TV channels, replacing them with the Internet Television System (ITVS). Using this system, any viewer can watch whatever they please. So, the reach of CyberSpec Security in nation wide in Monsone, yet not nearly as popular as the animated Monsonian satire series Holbrow (Similar to South Park).

Current Proposal
"Reducing Food Waste"
The World Assembly,

Noting that many organisations that grow, prepare, sell or distribute food unnecessarily waste their product because a greater amount of stock is ordered than is sold, causing the excess food to go to waste,

Further acknowledging that retailers and wholesalers may refuse to purchase fruit and vegetables if they are considered aesthetically unpleasing, regardless of their actual quality or nutritional value,

Worried for the many negative effects of the aforementioned food wastage on WA member states and their populations, including:

  1. harming the environment, due to the production of the greenhouse gas methane, the wastage of the fresh water that was used to create discarded products and the attraction of pestilence and vermin to rotting food,

  2. forcing a rise in the prices of food, because of a lack of supply caused by wastage between initial production and final sale, resulting in serious negative consequences for the price of living,

  3. robbing poorer citizens of member nations of the possibility to eat the perfectly edible food, safe for sapient consumption, that is thrown away unnecessarily,

  4. squandering the energy used to store and distribute the discarded food, thus increasing power demand unnecessarily, and

  5. wasting the labour that was used to create said food products, which could otherwise have been allocated towards goods and services that would have ultimately been used for the betterment of member nations,

Concerned over the quantities of food that unintentionally expire due to improper or incorrect stock rotation, and

Regretting that action has not been taken by this august assembly to reduce unnecessary food wastage, and thus lend assistance to both the environments and citizens of member nations who are hurt by the discarding of edible food,

Hereby,

1. Strongly encourages member nations to create local initiatives that seek to prevent the overproduction and disposal of viable and edible food, including but not limited to food banks and charities;

2. Commands member nations to inform their citizens about how to properly save and store leftovers for future consumption;

3. Obliges food producers and transporters with minimising the amount of food that, having been produced or brought, is thrown away without a compelling health or safety purpose, as far as is reasonably possible;

4. Mandates member nations to repurpose a reasonable amount of food surpluses into appropriate environmentally, socially or economically viable programs, such as: diverting food scraps to animal feed, composting inedible food to create nutrient-rich soil, or using waste oils from food for fuel conversion in order to recover lost energy in industry;

5. Orders member states to divert a reasonable proportion of their wasted food, if assuredly edible and safe for sapient consumption, to feeding those who are unable to procure food for themselves or their family, either internally or in the form of foreign aid. This may be accomplished directly or via reputable charities;

6. Extends the authority of the International Food Welfare Organisation to include:

  1. researching into: the causes of food wastage, the reduction of this waste, the ways in which uneaten food can be reused, and the points at which foodstuffs become unsafe for sapient consumption,

  2. publishing this data for the benefit of member nations’ governments, food producers and businesses, food charities such as foodbanks, and the general citizens of member states’ populations,

  3. lending aid, in the form of donations from the World Assembly General Fund as well as research, to food charities that have proven virtuous conduct and use techniques of strong efficacy to minimise wastage and maximise reuse, and

  4. likewise giving monetary aid to member nations - this shall be used only accomplish the reduction of unnecessary foodwastage, either directly or indirectly;

7. Requires all businesses in member nations to take every reasonable step to reduce the amount of safely-consumable food and drink that is discarded, and implement stock rotation techniques that minimise product expiry, if not already in use; and

8. Compels member nations to implement techniques that minimise food wastage, based on the research published by the International Food Wastage Organisation, where doing so would not be harmful to sapient health, objectively inferior to current methods, extremely expensive, or excessively difficult to accomplish in a reasonable time frame;

  1. where a member state is unable to implement techniques within a reasonable time frame from the IFWO solely due to resource or technology constraints, it must implement them as soon as it is able to do so.

Coauthored by Australian rePublic and Dmitry II.

Vote Recommendation: AGAINST.

  • Despite good intentions, the proposal fails to outline any way of enforcing the rules it sets in place.

  • The current proposal fails to take into account nations that do not have the ability or means to enforce the measures laid out in the proposal.

  • While the resolution at heart is good natured it presents more problems than it fixes by refusing to clarify the method of oversight for enforcing the proposal, the punishment for noncompliance, and the standards by which subsidies will be granted.

  • The Defense Office believes that this proposal offers no real solutions and is open to exploitation.

Roxium United Armed Force Command Fortress: Ga-Zulu, Newly established Zulu Prefecture, Roxium Federation Cape of Good Hope Territory

The early morning sun rises over the capital of the Roxium Federation Cape of Good Hope Territory, the city of Ga-Zulu, a city slightly larger than Beijing with a population of just under 301 million people. Nestled among the many highrise buildings and skyscrapers of Ga-Zulu's southern wards sits Roxium United Armed Force Command Fortress: Ga-Zulu, the Roxium military's primary command center of its Augusta Division. (Internally, the Roxium Federation refers to the Cape of Good Hope as Augusta)
In a meeting room in Command Fortress: Ga-Zulu's main 1080 meter tall tower, a group of high-ranked personnel are having a morning meeting. "Thank you all for coming here today." says a rather bulky but well-toned figure with mint-green skin at the front of the room. "The main agendas of this meeting are about Operation Sozin Buster, how to deal with a potential threat being posed by some space group that WonGya calls Zeon, and a reorganization of our assets in the Dovit and Torjthistan Prefectures." Upon the mention of Operation Sozin Buster, a muscular figure with a cybernetic left eye tenses his fists and frowns.
Begin flashback
A shirtless muscular man with prominent lightning-shaped scars on his front and back smashes through a sealed bulkhead separating him from a hanger before charging through as blasts of greenish blue energy flies at him from behind. Our figure with the left cybernetic eye watches this through a security monitor on the command bridge of a ship. "Target has breached Hanger 3A on deck level 130!" yells a guy. Another figure is seen rushing through the destroyed bulkhead on the monitor moments later. At the same time, a voice that sounds exactly like the Terran announcer from Starcraft 2 is heard saying "ALERT: Entering active combat zone!"
End flashback

The figure with the mint-green skin does a motion with his hands. The lights in the meeting room dim as a 3D projector whirs to live, generating a hologram at the front of the room. "As most of you remember, about 18 months ago a terrorist group called the New Sozin Order hijacked the Auriga Division 12th Mezari Fleet as it was being resupplied in orbit above Roxia Secunda." A hologram of Roxia Secunda appears before zooming in to show where the fleet was in orbit when it was hijacked. "After they hijacked the fleet, they warped to Augusta." The hologram changes to show the Cape of Good Hope and where the hijacked fleet warped in. "We suspect they chose Augusta because it's one of the less important, and less secure, planets that's within 100 light years of both Roxia Secunda and Roxia Prime." The hologram zooms out to show the space within 150 light years of a point between Augusta and Roxia Secunda. The map has Augusta, Roxia Prime, and Roxia Secunda labeled plus a line showing representing the border between districts Volkron and Roxia. (The Roxium Federation has this galaxy divided into districts. The Cape of Good Hope is in District Volkron while both Roxia Prime and Roxia Secunda are in District Roxia) "The New Sozin's goal was to use intimidation and fear to force us to withdraw from Roxia Secunda and to give them R500 trillion. They intended to back that up by threatening to use an arcane fusion bomb on August." The hologram shows an arcane fusion bomb. "Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for us, the arcane fusion bomb they had was missing the core, rendering it inert, or as their commander called it, an oversized block of blasting jelly." (https://avatar.fandom.com/wiki/Blasting_jelly)
"Just get to the point already!" yells a commander from across the room. "To make a long story short, the New Sozin Order laid siege to Birmingham in Kollumbia before a small group of soldiers from Kollumbia's Unit 731, a former NSO firebender (https://avatar.fandom.com/wiki/Firebending) named Kuzon, and strike teams from the 303 Aegis, 303 Torro, and Azeroth Division Iron Hammer fleets brought an end to the crisis." Footage from the fight on the 12th Mezari Fleet's command ship is shown. The footage came from security cameras and helmet cams worn by the R.U.A.F troops that stormed the command ship's bridge. "In response to the New Sozin Order's actions, commanders from both the Roxia Secunda and Augusta Divisions have concocted a plan to eliminate the New Sozin Order based on information that was obtained by interrogating captured NSO members and the NSO commander responsible for the crisis in the first place before his escape."
Begin flashback
"I'm not sure if letting him live will do us any good. Besides, we don't know if he will talk or not." says a commander with concern. "He's an NSO commander with invaluable intel on its inner workings. If we kill him, we let a possibly game-changing opportunity go to waste." says a strategics officer. The commnder looks at the security monitor of the NSO commander's confinement cell. Within the cell, the NSO commander sits on a throne of sorts, his body held in place by computer-operated locks made from pure atomantine, one of the strongest known metals in existence. Around his neck is a chi-suppressing collar that prevents him from firebending. His arms are in rather bad shape due to being stripped of his illegal cybernetic enhancements along with having the one that was severed by one of Unit 731's soldiers surgical-magically reattached. "If you're concerned about him escaping, those are pure atomantine locks holding him in place, and that collar he's wearing is suppressing his firebending." says the strategics officer.
Several weeks later...
Several heavily armed Roxium soldiers are gathered around the NSO commander's prison cell. "How the hell did he break out of those restraints?" asks one of the soldiers as he looks at the mangled remains of the atomantine restraints that held the NSO commander to his "Throne". Embedded in one of the cell's walls is the collar that suppressed his firebending.
End flashback

"The plan for Operation Sozin Buster is to have several of our best agents infiltrate the New Sozin Order's ranks and sow discord among their chain of command, hopefully causing it to break. Using the resulting chaos to our advantage, the agents will then move in and eliminate the New Sozin Order commanders. After the chain of command is taken out, the agents are to take down any and all remaining NSO members through any means necessary, preferably non-lethally before handing them over to the Court."
"Why can't we just kill them all?" asks another figure. "Not all members of the New Sozin Order joined willingly. We estimate about a third of their ranks were forced to join. If the New Sozen Order's leaders are eliminated, NSO members that were forced to join will very likely defect to our side. And from what we learned through interrogation, some NSO members are more than willing to defect if given even the slightest of opportunities, as seen when two of them escaped during a failed assassination attempt on the Augusta Territory president." says the figure with the mint green skin.
The rumble of some high-powered mana-thrust engines is heard as a cargo shuttle flies a little too close to the tower. "... Must be a rookie shuttle pilot." mutters the figure with the left cybernetic eye. The figure with mint green skin continues to speak. "The Operation is already in progress as we speak. The first set of agents have already infiltrated the New Sozin Order." "I thought Operation Sozin Buster was postponed due to the Demon War." says the figure with the left cybernetic eye. "That was only for the deployment of the next set of agents. The first set was already in Roxia Secunda's Zuko Prefecture when the Demon War broke out." replies the figure with mint green skin as a holographic map of the Zuko Prefecture appears, with all known NSO assets labeled. Before the green skinned figure continues to speak, the map gets pushed to the side as two lists appear. "The list on the left are people that have been chosen to be the second set of agents to be sent in, and the list on the right are candidates that have been identified for possible inclusion in either the second or third set of agents." As the mint green skinned figure speaks, a map of Roxia Secunda's Beifong and Korra Prefectures appears below the two lists. A number of sites are labeled on the map.
"The New Sozin Order knows that there will be retaliation due to their actions, so they've been keeping tabs on most of Roxia Secunda's military facilities. To avoid suspicion, the agents will be brought in through civilian means to the Beifong and Korra Prefectures." "I think I can understand why they're not being sent directly to the Zuko Prefecture, but why are they not being sent to the Katara and Yue Prefectures?" asks another figure. "As far as I know, both the Katara and Yue Prefectures are dealing with their own set of problems regarding a possible new organisation called the Unalaq Collective." replies the mint green skinned figure. "The landing sites for the second set of agents has already been decided. They are Wan Shi Tong, Gaolong, Garsai, Wulong, Zaofu, and Yu Dao." The labels on the map corresponding to the locations were highlighted. A few seconds later the map of the Beifong and Korra Prefectures is moved aside.
"As you can tell by the list, we've already selected a few people for the second agent set, but more are needed. Operation Sozin Buster calls for a total of 100 agents split into 4 groups of 25, and as I said earlier, the first group has already infiltrated. So far we've got 5 people in group 2. The list of candidates has over 30 people in it. Our objective for this part of the meeting is to go through the list of candidates and decide who will be in group 2."
The various commanders in the meeting room deliberate among themselves, slowly whittling down the candidates list and filling out the remaining 20 openings in agent group 2. After a few hours, the number of empty slots in group 2 is whittled down to 7.
"Hey, it looks like 5 of the candidates aren't ours." says one of the commanders. The five candidates in question are Reggie, Klaus, Cecil, Finn, and Edward. "They were added to the list at the request of Brexton." says the mint green skinned figure, prompting almost everyone to look at the figure with the cybernetic left eye. "I requested them to be considered for Operation Sozin Buster because the New Sozin Order attacked their home nation. They've already proven their worth when they took down Ozai." replies the figure with the cybernetic left eye, now identified as Brexton Lejong. "I'm not sure we can trust them. Kollumbia has already demonstrated the use of borderline illegal bio weapons multiple times. For all we could know, they might be sleeper agents." says another commander. "Kars is right. Letting the hybrids into the group could jeopardize the operation. Due to their hybrid nature, they might not be able to blend in properly with the Zuko Prefecture's human population. There's a reason why all the agents and candidates are pure-blood humans." replies a second commander. "I've seen them in person during a meeting with Unit 731 in Ga-Zulu. They perfectly match the appearance of a human. Kollumbia is one of the Augusta Division's closest allies. Sure, there's been a few... incidents..., but they've proved time and time again that they're on our side. Hell, they've saved my life when Elysium performed a surprise attack on the meeting with Unit 731!" says Brexton as he vouches for the hybrid's inclusion in Operation Sozin Buster. "Brexton, you do give a pretty convincing argument for why the hybrids should be part of the mission." says the second commander, prompting the first commander, now identified as Kars, to yell "Are you f*BEEP*ing serious, Jin!?! Those hybrids are bio weapons! We need humans, not walking bio weapons!" "Kars, I see your point, but the hybrids have so far proven to be allies. Brexton, I'll vouch for the hybrids to be a part of the mission. Tengzu, are you able to add the hybrids to group 2?" says the second commander, now identified as Jin. The mint green skinned figure ponders for a moment before saying "Under normal circumstances yes, but since they're Kollumbian, the higher ups will have to negotiate with their Kollumbian counterparts before, or rather, if they can be added." This identifies the green skinned figure as Tengzu. Kars, now furious, says "If those hybrids screw up the operation, you will be held accountable, Brexton!"
After 2 more hours, it's decided that the Kollumbian hybrids will be allowed to partake in Operation Sozin Buster's second agent group, but only if both the Roxium United Armed Force and its Kollumbian counterpart can come to an agreement. With the meeting's Operation Sozin Buster part over, everyone heads out for a 1 hour lunch break before returning for the second issue at hand: The possible threat of Zeon. "I hope everyone had a good lunch. Now for this meeting's second topic: Zeon." says Tengzu as a map of the inner solar system appears along with the WonGyan and Zeon flags. "As you may know, we've recently established diplomatic relations with a highly advanced nation called WonGya. During one of our early meetings, a group called Zeon contacted us. Based on all the intel gathered so far, WonGya and Zeon have been at odds with each other for well over a year, and the ceasefire agreement between them that was established during the DDR crisis is not expected to last much longer. At the moment, the Alrest Division 77th Indol Fleet is stationed in orbit to act as a peacekeeping force." A map of the Cape of Good Hope appears, showing the Alrest Division 77th Indol Fleet's position to be close to the WonGya/Azulakas border. "It's pretty clear that if, or when, Zeon breaks the ceasefire, they'll attack one of WonGya's space colonies." says Jin. "Or one of our's." adds Kars before saying "'sides, I don't think Zeon is stupid enough to take on the Indol Fleet directly. Those newly acquired first production-run Poncle-Class battle Destroyers alone would easily wipe them out long before they've reached high Augusta orbit." Labels appear on the map of the inner solar system that identifies the locations of all of WonGya and the Roxium Federation's space colonies plus all known Zeon colonies. "Negotiations between the Roxium Federation, WonGya, and Zeon have been ongoing since the Demon War ended. The Roxium Federation is not too keen on having an interplanetary war on its doorstep. If negotiations fail and and war becomes inevitable, the general plan is to take out Zeon's leaders as fast as possible. Ironically that would be the easy part of the situation. The hard part would be justifying it to the Galactic Union when they inevitably chew us out over violating the Non-Interference Clause."
The commanders and Tengzu debate on how best to handle the situation with Zeon and the possible Galactic Union backlash. As the meeting drags on, the sun slowly travels down towards the horizon, having already reached its highest point in the sky just after everyone got out for lunch. Numerous ideas are thrown back and forth until it's decided that a false flag operation courtesy of the highly secretive black ops unit Cicada 113 could be done, but even that has not been fully agreed upon.
"And now we've reach the final point of the meeting. Since the Demon War ended, rebuilding efforts across Augusta have commenced. However, not every nation has survived." says Tengzu as a map of the Cape of Good Hope appears, with all DDR invasion points highlighted. "The nations that have been impacted the most aside from us and Kollumbia are Azulakas and Gensoky0, with significant damage inflicted on Torjthistan, Dovit, Ezidistan, Undarat, WonGya, and numerous unclaimed territories. Damage related to the crisis has also occurred in Monsone, Greenfalcon, Syrilonia, New Cashistan, and Rednexica. Of those nations, contact has been lost with the governments of Gensoky0, Ezidistan, New Cashistan, Syrilonia, and Rednexica." The nations where contact with their governments have been lost are darkened on the map. At the same time, images showing the damage caused by the crisis appear. Among the images are a nearly 4 mile-wide crater centered on where Gensoky0's Space Radar turned demon portal used to be, a very much unnatural gash in the earth extending across unclaimed territories 22 and 23, a series of flooded rifts that extend from the west coast of Hui' Island to its east coast in Azulakas that split the island in two, a giant crater that straddles the border between Torjthistan and unclaimed territory 23, several craters spread across WonGya, a mountain with a massive hole through it in Torjthistan, large swathes of Fel-scarred land in both Azulakas and Gensoky0, and a giant crater straddling the Roxium/Kollumbia border where Miyazaki Lake used to be.
"As for Torjthistan and Dovit, what we know is that their governments collapsed without warning. As a result, we've kinda been forced to "annex" them in order to maintain stability. They've since been incorporated as semi-autonomous prefectures. Their incorporation as prefectures had the side effect of forcing the original Augusta territory to become the Zulu Prefecture. Anyways, with Torjthistan and Dovit having become part of the Augusta Territory, it has rendered a large portion of our military installations in that area obsolete." The map zooms in on Torjthistan and Dovit. "At the moment, many of the obsolete installations are being considered for either demolition or civilian use."
After a few hours of deciding the fate of the many now obsolete facilities in Torjthistan and Dovit, the meeting is brought to an end.

(Surprise mega-post time!!! Due to a long-ish absence and some key players in the DDR story ceasing to exist, I've decided to do a time skip to after the DDR has been defeated. What new story arc awaits? Who knows!)

Ah, nothing better than to remind me that I wasn't able to test out some brand new space lazer facilities. As for the damage, particles and chunks of primarily dirt, metal andother substances have landed across Monsone, causing darkened rain,and a renewed interest in limmiting the power of destructive technologies as to not have a demon portalexplode, and then have a three ton piece take out a bridge and another equlay large piece, nearly crash into a nuclear power plant.

The rather quite depressed Azulakas would like her upper body & lower body sewn back together, thanks.

Its been a while, but the Republic is slowly trying to drag its way back from the dead. Elections have been postponed due to the massive relocations and economical damage the nation has suffered. The tired President Aquiaare along with the legislative body has been forced to take out multiple loans to rebuild and contain the damage, now often called "Bekas Luka", The Scar.
Although quite isolationist before the invasion, it seems matters only worsen as most of the population blame the foreign peoples of the Roxium federation for bringing this catastrophe upon the sacred islands. President Aquiaare is constantly having to put down Anti-Roxium demonstrations and the legislature is split on demanding reoperations from said nation, ranging anywhere from monetary compensation to billions of tons of earthen substances to "restore every beach, hill, mountain and rock formation."
