Ok, so I just decided to pay for my niece's wedding with tax money, and taxation went down. I'm no economist, but this seems fishy
Well.... Because you used the money of the contribuable on personnal use, theese fellow decided to stop paying their taxes. That makes sense.
In Dithmarse, all spent money by the government is reccorded and accessible to the public. With that, our citizens can always signal us problems which could have escaped to our administration. And politicians are less likely to take public funds for their personnal use...

Yes... And no. It depends. If the people accept to be taxed, then no. If they refuse, then yes. But who are the people ? How shall they be taxed ? Why taxing them ? Is taxation legitimate ? Those questions have been asked throughout centuries, and nations have, each and everyone of them, their own answer.
Of course no one's really happy to be taxed... But if everyone enjoy good roads, decent wealfare, schools and capable military, thanks to the taxes, then taxation is a lesser evil.
