I’m back

Felicitas Iulia Olisipo wrote:Hello, brother.

I'm not offended in any way, and I hope I didn't sound uncharitable.

That explanation is correct and is in fact what the Church teaches. The problem, I believe, was the way the original text was written, which conveys an idea of the exclusivity of one form of God's presence with respect to another.

I am also in favor of a healthy theological plurality within the Church.

That is all. A hug, and God bless.

Your flag looks like my old flag.

That's nice, it seems to be a common flag pattern. Tho, this is literally the flag of Lisbon City irl.

Ohh I see.

I think the question of "where is God" might be missing the point. A better question is "where are the fonts of God's grace and mercy?" First, the Eucharist, "the source and summit of the Christian life," is the primary source. That is through the Mass and the sacrament of communion. The reserved host in the tabernacle is a secondary source. These are not unique nor exclusive but the first is the most powerful and the others have decreasing levels of grace and mercy. It's like comparing a wide river, a stream, and a garden hose. (But if you are thirsty and all you have is a garden hose, drink away.)

God bless you all on this Sunday today. May the Graces of God flow through each and every one of us, and may we, by the intercession of the Blessed Mother and St. Joseph, strive to do the Will of God. Peace.

Take a moment to pause and remember that you are in the holy presence of God.

Nova galilea

I was literally banned from my region for calling out a “Western Rite” Heterodox for stealing the liturgy of the Catholic faith. What malarkey.

Today is Ash Wednesday and while not a day of obligation, it's an important liturgical holiday, specially since it's the start of lent. Let us pray so we can follow the example of Jesus Christ, Our Lord, and have these forty days marked by prayer, penitence, conversion and charity. From the dust we came, and to the dust we shall return.

Gracious God,
Today begins a period of inner reflection and examination.
The days stretch before me and invite me inward to that silent, holy space that holds your Spirit.
This special time beckons me to see my life through Christ's eyes and the truth and reality of your love incarnate.
Give me the grace to enter the space of these days with anticipation of our meeting. And, when I open my soul to your presence, let your loving kindness flow over me and seep into the pockets of my heart.
I ask this for the sake of your love.
Amen.

Hi friends!
If you're so inclined, I'd like to invite you to join the United Pacifists faction.
If your region would like to boost the faction, that would be so appreciated!
Everyone is welcome: page=faction/fid=147

Good afternoon everyone, I just discovered this region and I already wanted to get into it. Long live the Holy Catholic Church! 🇻🇦🇻🇦

Plans for Easter/Resurrection Day anyone? This RMB seems quiet.

Nothing really as I'm still living in Shanghai and don't have the day off.

Where I am, there is a "Presidental Primary" on Easter Tuesday and since I work at the board of elections, apart from my church choir (the vigil) and my lector duties (assigned 8 AM on Easter Sunday) my easter plans are in total flux.

I made a martini with half vodka and half gin. Am I still Catholic?

Only if you give to those in need ;)

Today is Holy Thursday,  the end of Lent, the start of the Pascal Triduum and a day for us to commemorate the divine, royal and real presence of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

Through the wash of feet in liturgy of this holy day, we also celebrate the theological virtue of charity and the new and most important commandment of Christ: "I give you a new commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you" (Jo 13, 34).
