Considering you've been racking up ideas. I, also, wouldn't be surprised if mathorn releases a 160-page book.

Party Leaders:

Volkist Party: Damon Kovalski

Social Democrats: Verdan Seyanid

National Coalition: Eron Val

Zentur: Alber Dikarit

Democratic Balthorist Party: Tomas Ortalson

New Republican Party: Emon Tintajik

United Alsesia Party: Luther Wrank

Alsesian Freedom Party: Henri Weinyela

National Socialist Party of Alsesia: Adolf Shlatrender

A Brief Overview of Each Party Leader:

Kovalski is a socialist. He intends to use the electoral process to bring about a democratic state based on a socialist economic model. He is charismatic, has a thorough plan, and may just succeed if he can reach more people.

Seyanid is a run-of-the-mill social democrat who idolizes Ivan Kodoli like many of her party members. She is experienced but still seen as ruling a niche party that sits quietly between the Democrats and the Volkists.

Eron Val is getting too old for this sh*t. At this point, he's desperately trying to find a successor that can keep the coalition and the strength of the Democratic Party. However, he is well-liked, and his connections with the ISD, however unsavory as they are, render him hard to beat.

Alber Dikarit is the rookie party leader. He takes the helm of a party full of supporters that believe it has outlived its purpose of healthy skepticism and striking a balance between the radical changes of the Spring and the fond memories of the GoNS.

Ortalson is utterly clueless about ruling. He and the DBP survive because of elderly Parnell fanclubs in the flyover zones of the country. Most of those clubs have started moving to the Democrats or the New Republicans.

Tintajik is a yes-man of Jordan Vortik while the latter wisely spends the valuable time freed up by not being the party leader.

Wrank just likes Ormitak too much for his own good, but he's a good man at heart. Unfortunately, he has a bit of a NorVol supremacist tilt, which makes him a nuisance for immigration policy.

Weinyela exists to piss off Speaker Deschain and Director Letters. He is smart, sharp-tongued, and has successfully wrested control of the right-wing from Wrank.

Shlatrender is a neo-Fulminat who keeps his mouth shut but is constantly brimming with dissatisfaction with electoral politics and the lack of "real military action" by the leadership. This man would like the world to burn down so Alsesia can rule over the ashes.

- - - Lewis Wood calls for a WA referendum, amid mounting pressure on the Liberal Party - - -

Central Polaris, Mathorn.

"We need a new deal. We need to reset our national identity. We need to be proud of whom we are as a nation. We need to be proud Mathornians. And as Mathornians, our democracy is at the heart of who we are. As a libera, open democracy, it is right to ask the question of whether or not we want to remain members of the World Assembly. And the time has now come to ask this question."

Those were the words uttered by Conservative leader, Senator Lewis Wood, earlier today on the steps of the Capitol Building. It comes after days of whispers, which have been swirling around Congress, like winds whistling against the rocks. Rumours have been circulating, like vultures circulating their prey. Members of Liberal Party, especially backbench members of Congress, have been sounding out possible support for a WA Referendum Bill. Such a bill, which is currently not supported by the President, will have to be bi-partisan of nature, as Liberal backbenchers would have to gain the support of every Conservative, National and Republican member of Congress, in addition to around 100 Liberal members of the House of Representatives - in order to authorise such a referendum. Then there is the small task of getting the President to sign off on such a proposal.

This morning, with no major political backing for a referendum, the rumours had all but burnt themselves out. Then came the shock announcement from the leader of the Conservative Party, and suddenly all hell broke loose on capitol hill. Suddenly, the remote prospect of a WA referendum seemed a little less remote. Conservatives met with Liberals behind closed doors, as the President seemed to loose his iron grip on the Liberal Congressional Party - famously divided by the World Assembly, yet ruthless with dissenters and rebels.

The President, who spent most of the day at George House, was conducting his very own political soundings, as the political battlemap re-shaped and re-formed throughout the day. As of Thursday night, no official bill has been tabled, but it is expected that Senator Lewis Wood, the Tory Leader, will table one tomorrow. If it passes the House, the political momentum for a WA referendum could be unstoppable.

The "Agent Shovan" Case, 2016:

The "Agent Shovan" Case was a criminal case in 2016 that sparked controversy when a court in Omeritov gave what was seen as a disproportionately light sentence to Torrick Shovan, a man convicted of 4 counts of voluntary manslaughter under coercion and manipulation.

Background:

Torrick Shovan, a 31-year old father of two, was arrested in January 2016 as a suspect for the murder of four Sanjukis in the city of Omeritov. During the investigation, it was revealed that Shovan had been manipulated by a neo-Fulminat group called the "Norden Brotherhood" into believing he was being recruited by the National Agency of Intelligence's unit to deal with domestic terrorism. Over a period of 8 months, Shovan tracked down and killed four adult males he had been "assigned" to neutralize.

Trial:

Shovan was initially charged with four counts of first-degree murder, serving as a contract killer, and various other felonies. As the result of the investigation and his cooperation with the authorites, Shovan was convicted instead of voluntary manslaughter. The mitigating factors of coercion, due to the Norden Brotherhood repeatedly stating his family would be at risk without his cooperation, and manipulation due to his genuine belief he was working with a government agency, resulted in Shovan being sentenced to 8 years in regular-security with parole available after 4 years served.

Aftermath:

The sentence was subject to controversy as the prosecutors made no attempt to have Shovan issue an apology to the families of the slain. In addition, a Sanjuki convicted of a similar crime two years prior had been executed, resulting in several accusations of bias. Despite an attorney representing the families of the slain attempting to appeal the case, the provincial government rejected the appeal. The Agent Shovan Case would be a turning point in native-Sanjuki relations, as growing animosity would boil down to the murder of Desmond Hacik and the ensuing civil conflict.

Goodbye everyone, this time for sure. Thanks for all the memories and especially to The Socialist Republic of Saian for being good friends and helping form the legendary East Asia Alliance in the old chatroom. And to Khingan helping the Imperialists take East Asia and our countries seriously and being supportive of us for many years. And the wonderful RP Moments.

I feel as though my ideas and enthusiasm for NationStates has run out, I made comebacks before and never delivered because I kept struggling to do anything well. But I am still proud of my April Fools joke. God that was amazing.

I will be closing my nation, hope you all keep stay and live on, Remain 'Strong and Fearless!'

Thank you for even considering to commit that much time to interacting with us over the -by now- years. It has been an amazing time with you as a person, and your nation as part of our role play. But as with most players on NationStates, a time will come where your motivation or interest for the game ceases to exist (pun intended).

If you ever decide to return with this or another nation, whether for RP or just to hang out, you're more than welcome to do so. And you too remain strong and fearless!
