The Reunification of Infiny, 70 years ago

On July 23rd, 1949, Infiny had finally left its most destructive and violent 10 years behind it. On this day, president Lij Tafari Makonnen and secretary-general Tsion Benti signed the agreement which merged much of the once gigantic empire into the Fifth Republic. The destructive 10 years prior are in Infinian historiography known as the climax of the Era of Trials and Tribulations.

Starting in late 1936, Ethiopia was invaded by Mussolini’s Italy. No match for the technologically superior forces, the nation surrendered in mid 1937. Despite president Maximilian Cosobele’s efforts to prevent war against Infiny, the republic was next on Mussolini’s chopping block. Hazardous terrain and vigilant resistance prolonged Infiny’s survival until finally, the last bastion of resistance, Mogadishu, fell.

Despite this, president Cosobele’s successor, president Lij Taffari Makonnen, refused to acquiesce in any Italian domination of Infinian lands. He led the vicious guerrilla against the occupation. When the war expanded into the Second World War, allied units attacked from the east and the south, Soviet forces landed in Mombasa in September, as the allies inflicted a crushing defeat on the Italians with the battle of Cerene in October. Fearing increasing communist influence as the Soviets advanced, Makonnen orchestrated the November 1st Mogadishu uprising. The war in the city lasted 12 days, and as other Infinian cities also rose up to liberate themselves, Mussolini’s hold over East Africa diminished. Following the fall of Finfinne in July 1942, Italy was forced out of East Africa.

The war was not over for Infiny. The communist resistance refused to recognize Lij Taffari Makonnen’s government, and set up their own in the Soviet occupied southern lands, led by Tsion Benti. After years of tension, during and directly after the war, the two sides clashed in January 1949. President Makonnen managed to keep the war relatively minor, and on July 23rd, secured peace and reunification.

The 70th anniversary is scheduled to be a large celebration of the triumph over hate and division. It will be a free day for all Infinians, with fireworks and nationwide festivities. Invitations to foreign leaders shall soon be sent.

Afghanistan

Troops from the Cape republic have continued their efforts to drive out terrorist elements in Afghanistan. Working closely with their Australian counterparts they have successfully cleared out many areas of the nation. However to continue to do so a troop increase has been asked by General Liebenberg. Liebenberg wants large force to ensure that an Afrikaner section of the Country is established so that the Afrikaners can prove themselves as an independent source. 32nd battalion will be sent home as more troops arrive. More atlas cheetahs are expected to arrive as well, providing more much needed air support.

In a house in Alexandria...
It was the midnight, 4 hours after the polls had closed and the results were still coming in but the exit poll suggested that it would be a 68-32 victory for Eleanor Marinos. Eleanor was sitting in her house, watching the results begin to roll in on her TV. Her party and party officials were at a party at the headquarters, but she was planning to wait a while and have her last moments of solitude and peace if the result went her way. Suddenly, there was a loud knock on her door. She looked past the curtain, expecting perhaps the 100th journalist wanting to ask a question. Instead, there was a man in full military dress, surrounded by other soldiers. Thousands of thoughts raced through her mind, but she eventually decided to open the door and greet the man.
"Evening Ms Marinos, may I come in?"
It was General Walrus. His face was blank and betrayed no emotion
"Of course, there's some seats out there if your friends don't wish to stand around"
The General smiled, and his men stayed where they were as the General walked in.
Eleanor noticed that his boots seemed remarkably clean, as they walked into the living room. She gestured at the chair in front of her own and to sit.
"So General, what do I owe the pleasure of this late night meeting?"
The General did not sit, but rather ran his hand alongside the mantelpiece near the chair.
"Does the name Marcus Libertordes ring a bell?"
Eleanor shook her head
"He was the ring leader of the Port Said uprising"
The general picked up a small vase and examined it while continuing
"When we restored order to the city, I took him prisoner and brought him back to the capital alongside his associates"
The General put the vase back and turned back to Eleanor
"After I handed him to the Archon, 3 hours ago the Archon summoned me to his office"
Walrus began pacing the room
"Archon Dukas claimed that under interrogation, the man and his associates have claimed that they were acting under orders from you, and that you had paid them 1 million Drachma to instate an uprising by arresting the sailors."
Eleanor did no blink after this accusation, and let him carry on talking
"The Archon then brought out documents that claim a paper trail, showing you paying them, briefly showing me them. He then commanded me to come and arrest you."
The TV shows a breaking news notification. The final vote count had been completed 2 hours earlier than normal.
"Ms Marinos, I believe you need to come with me"
Eleanor stood up
"And where are we going?"
General Walrus smiled and then saluted her
"I believe you have someone to kick out of your Archon Palace"

RBC News:New Flag

Last Night the Grand Council passed a resolution to change the flag of Russoslava from Red white and blue to Red, blue and green. This is to pay homage to the nation of old in Belovakia which paved the way for the New Slavic Republic that Russoslava has become.

Anarchy in Alexandria! Election comes to dramatic end as Dukas forcefully ousted
After the results were finalised and Eleanor Marinos won 68-32, that was not the end. It has turned out that Alexandros Dukas, the former Archon, had sent General Walrus to arrest Eleanor Marinos on a claim that she had instigated the Port Said uprising. But as the result was finalised, General Walrus instead escorted her to the palace and promptly arrested Dukas for conspiring against democracy, high treason and instigating and uprising. There was fighting on the streets as Dukas's personal guard resisted, but Alexandros Dukas has been taken into custody. Eleanor Marinos has been declared as Archon, and all of Dukas's associates have been brought into custody. Tapes and papers have been realised showing that at the very least Dukas did try and overturn the election, and the evidence that he claimed seem to be fabricated and there is a major concern that it was gained by torture to force a false confession. Meanwhile, there has been fighting on the streets as clashes between supporters has been raging all night, but with General Walrus the military is fully behind Archon Marinos and she still intends to form a constituional convention, and then try Dukas and his associates for high treason. For now though, a new dawn has risen on Mursia

Sikasso, Dékun, West Africa

A military convoy passed on the main road, scouring the area. Hendaqué and Nkechi hid in an alleyway, knowing that they are being hunted. They have no idea why they are hunting, they just know they are.

They hitchhiked their way to Sikasso, getting closer and closer to their target, Abidjan. "We need to watch our backs. If you wish to live in Abidjan, we need to be alive when we get there." said Nkechi. Hendaqué looked at her. "Mother, I know this, you don't have to keep telling me. We will get to Abidjan, and we will make our lives better!" she exclaimed. "How are we going to live without a home or job?" asked her mother. "We will find a way." she answered. Nkechi sighed but decided to move on with Hendaqué.

They kept walking through the city before they stopped at a house that seemed abandoned. It was getting dark and they didn't wish to travel at night as that was much more dangerous than travelling during the daytime. "We can rest here, I scrounged some food earlier so we can eat that tonight and tomorrow. Tomorrow, we can move on to Korhogo." said Nkechi.

They ate and then rested in the house. They awoke early in the morning to knocking on the door. They jolted to a sitting position and looked at each other. Another knock on the door was heard, this time more aggressive. "This is the West African Army, open up!" came a voice from the door. Nkechi and Hendaqué looked at each other in panic. Quietly, Nkechi spoke. "Go upstairs and I'll see if I can distract them. We have different clothes. I only heard our clothes in our description. Go!" she whispered.

Hendaqué ran upstairs shortly before the men barged in. Five men walked in and walked up to Nkechi. The commander turned to the man directly to his right. "Check the descriptions again. Make sure this one is it." he said. He turned to Nkechi, who was now standing. "I am Commander Ohakim, commander of the one hundred and seventh Army division of West Africa. We've been looking for two individuals that departed from tribal lands. Do you know anything about that?" he asked. Nkechi shook her head. Ohakim shook his head and spoke. "Just to make sure, we're going to need to search the place. We'll let you squat. The local police can catch you if they please." he said as he motioned for three of the men to search the house. The searched the bottom floor, and then neared the stairs to the top floor. Nkechi nervously darted her eyes to the stairs and back to Ohakim. He didn't seem to notice. They started climbing the stairs and she became more worried. "Hendaqué, jakta!" she yelled. Hendaqué ran down the stairs, pushing the men out the way. As Ohakim noticed what was happening and pieced it together, he went to stop Hendaqué. Nkechi quickly grabbed his gun that was facing her, in its holster. She removed it and pointed it at him. Hendaqué quickly ran outside and away as the men turned their guns to Nkechi.

"Don't you hurt her, you son of a bitch." she said. Ohakim straightened up and walked to the gun and placed the end of the barrel against his throat. "Shoot me, savage. Do it, it's in your blood. Bafahta, spura!" he exclaimed, ending in her language. She grimaced for a brief second. Before anyone could move, she pulled the trigger.

Hendaqué was close enough to hear the gunshot, although quiet. Before he could register what she heard, more gunshots, automatic, rang out. She didn't know exactly what happened, but she knew she was most likely alone. She'd have to make it to Abidjan, one way or another. She also knew that she now had an even bigger target on her back.

Inclusive Society Bill introduced
~ OBBC News

Chelsea Clinton MP, a backbench member of the Lower House for Vox Populi, introduced the so-called 'Inclusive Society Bill' during the deliberations of the House today. Many see this as the successor to the recently defeated Social Justice Bill.

Members of the Lower House were nothing short of astonished when they heard about this news, as the coalition parties are still talking about a Government-supported Bill on the same subject. However, Mrs Clinton stated that she was "sick and tired" of waiting. When the current government was formed, Vox Populi's coalition partner, the Social Republican Front, agreed to allow a Bill similar to the Social Justice Bill to be introduced. They just needed to "agree on the final details". Discussions have been underway for months now without any clear results, and thus, Mrs Clinton argues, it is fair for her to introduce her own Bill on this subject. Deputy Prime Minister John Brand MP (VOX) said that he will support Mrs Clinton's Bill, although "this will not prevent the coalition from having further talks about a possible second Bill on additional subjects". Therefore, the Bill puts an immense pressure on SRF MPs to support it, or else the coalition might collapse for a second time.

The contents of the Inclusive Society Bill largely overlap with the Social Justice Bill. For instance, both of them require private companies to fill at least 50% of their job vacancies with people from minority groups. These groups could be women, people with another nationality or religion, and the list goes on. Not complying with this mandatory rule could lead to a fine of a maximum of 10% of the company's global annual income per job vacancy.

One specific article - the already controversial Article 11 - has been added to the Bill which makes "crimes against the people" punishable by life in prison, with the loss of "certain civilian and political rights". It will also make it a crime if men do not believe women who claim to have been abused, even if there is evidence to the contrary, until a court of justice has ruled that the man accused is in fact not guilty.

Additionally, the Bill requires schools and universities to "introduce in their curriculums additional time and attention towards the historical and cultural aspects of different societies, in particular those who have suffered from Orange-Bourgognian rule in the past".

These are but a few examples. The Bill contains hundreds of new requirements and regulations for both the state-run and privately owned companies. It also threatens private property, as it makes it illegal for any single household to occupy more than four houses at the same time "if there are pressing needs for people from minority groups to find a place to live". In such instances, local authorities and even the national government could force owners to partake in a compulsory purchase.

The Bill will be discussed at length in the Lower House of Parliament next week. The Leader of the Upper House confirmed to us that the Upper House will not get to debate it: "the Government thinks that they have too many interests to hijack the debate for their own benefit or to maintain the awful status quo. We need to get this Bill through and we need to do it quickly". On a late evening yesterday, the Leader of the Upper House tabled a Motion that said the Upper House "has taken notice of the proceedings in the other place [the Lower House], and agrees with it wholesome; wherefore the House does not believe it shall be necessary to deliberate it once more in this place". Due to the late time of the vote, most Peers were already home, and the Government thus secured a victory in favour of the Motion.

Conservative Political Commenter Rebecca Volk: We have a wave a SJW going across the world. Liberal Chelsea Clinton MP wants to make it a crime to not believe women if a man is accused of assault. Even if there is evidence disproving that. The Left are trying to limit free speech, the left around the world are trying to take power from the people. I thought it was innocent until proven guilty.

Chelsea Clinton MP also wants to threaten private property rights. Chelsea Clinton wants to tell the People of Orange on how to live and what to own. People work to earn money. Money isn’t given out for free. People should be able to buy how many houses they want. What if it was a black person who buys 10 houses would you regulate that and take away his property that he owns.

Chelsea Clinton is trying to turn Orange into a socialist country. This bill in Orange should not pass, it violates basic human rights that every person should have.

If this bill passes in Orange then I suggest that the government of Australia issue a travel warning about visiting Orange due to its treatment of people who are not charged with a crime.

It is an apolitical trade bloc with the sole purpose of making trade easier and ridding of tariffs between the member states, mutually beneficial development and easing the process of developing trade deals with nations and other blocs around the world. Non European nations are welcome to enter into discussions with the EFTO with regards to establishing a trade deal.

Ha’il Arms refinery inauguration attended by Defense minister

Sheikh Khalifa bin Khalid Al Subaai, current Defense minister and one of the King’s closest advisors, attended the opening of the new Ha’il arms refinery, constructed by the Hadid Corporation, owned by the King’s cousin Khalid bin Salman Al Subaai. The factory will primarily construct Al-Ahmed class armored vehicles, and is expected to add nearly 3000 jobs to the region.

The defense minister’s presence signifies the total support the government has thrown behind Hadid, which aspires to account for 50% of Emirati arms purchases by 2025. Hadid's rapid expansion to one of the largest corporations in the Kingdom is attributed to the rising militarization of the UED. Current defense spending is at 98 billion dollars a year, accounting for nearly 5% of the national GDP. As a result, the Kingdom now has the world's third largest military expenditure and is the second largest importer of arms in the world.

King to address Emirati government following Eid Al-fitr

King Sultan bin Ahmed Al Subaai is expected to address his government on Thursday at Jeddah Palace. The speech will be delivered to the Council of Ministers, Council of State (legislature), the Council of Justice (Supreme Court), and the General Staff of the Diadochi Armed Forces. VIP business executives are also expected to be in attendance.

The King is likely to reflect on the governments progress towards Vision 2020, as well as issue new decrees.

Thousands of worshipers in Mecca during Eid Al-fitr

An estimated 950,000 worshipers marked the occasion of Eid Al-fitr and the conclusion of the Holy Month of Ramadan in the Grand Mosque at Mecca, Islam’s holiest site. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Shaykh, Minister of Faith & Hajj, said in an interview today that he thanks God for the completion of another successful and safe Eid at the Grand Mosque.

Ambassador to the UK expresses concern over Inclusive Society bill

Sheikh Bandar bin Rahman Al Subaai, ambassador to Orange-bourgogne has expressed concern regarding Member of Parliament Chelsea Clinton’s proposed Bill. The ambassador has stated that he is worried by the probable negative effect it will have on businesses in the UK, especially after the Foreign minister’s recent trip which furthered economic ties between the two states, and due to the fact that many Emiratis have been heavily investing into Orange-Bourgognese businesses.

He has also expressed concern to the private property limitations that are apart of the bill, considering many wealthy Emiratis own multiple properties across both Westminister city and the UK countryside and stated such a restriction would be unfair and an insult to the funds Emirati citizens have put into the UK economy.

Orange-bourgogne wrote:Inclusive Society Bill introduced

The Union is concerned with the wording of this new bill put forward by the Honorable Mrs. Clinton and is worried that the United Kingdom is slipping further down a road that many nations in the past have gone down. Once, the Union was almost dragged down such a path before a brave few fought back to restore the rule of law and order. We don't condone the overthrow of a duly elected government but support those that oppose this bill but only from a distance so as to not to inflame relations that are already strained due to recent events. However, a light travel warning will be issued by the State Department with approval from both Congress and the White House.
