This is the second article of a series concerning all major parties to participate in the upcoming General Election. Last episode, we briefly looked at the main opposition party, the Orange-Bourgognian Union. This time, we will take a look at one of the coalition partners: Vox Populi, abbreviated to VOX.
Vox was created by the dissolution of the Party of Nationalism, like the main opposition party. They are a blend of liberal and socialist voters, leaning towards right-winged economic policies and left-winged social policies. Last Parliament, they concluded a coalition compromise with the SRF. Their former leader, then Deputy Prime Minister John Brand MP, was refused by His Majesty King Henry to be appointed as (interim) Prime Minister. Following this humiliation, the party leadership immediately expelled him in an attempt to save their face from the actions of the last administration.
A new leadership contest is upcoming, with the two most popular candidates being former Justice Secretary Ralph Huntsman MP and former Economic Affairs Secretary Madeleine FitzGerald MP, though outsiders are also welcomed.
Since the ceasefire had been agreed to by Prime Minister Alexandra van Baalen MP and Leader of the Opposition Arthur of Avalon MP, Vox Populi has staunchly supported it, perhaps to disguise their own furious battles to keep hold of their power their numerous fanatics.
Whoever is the new party leader should not matter too much though, for the manifesto has already agreed on. High on their list of political promises is to reform the tax system. They want to open the economy up to foreign investors more than has ever attempted before. Additionally, they want to protect the environment by banning all vehicles that are not proven to be sufficiently eco-friendly. However, they will not insist on an international tax for aeroplanes or vessels at sea.
They have also said that they would like to join various international organisations, though they have not explicitly named any so far. It is, however, likely that the United Assembly of Nations is amongst them.
This is all for now so far it concerns Vox Populi. Next time, we will look at one of the opposition parties: the Patriotic Peoples Party.

Government passes the Indigenous Corporations Act 2020 by 29 to 16
Economic Affairs Minister Angelika Beike announced the passing of the Indigenous Corporations Act 2020 (ICA-2020) by the government today. The act, which split the ruling SDP but won the support of opposition parties, aims to directly stop indigenous companies (defined as companies incorporated for the first time in the Danzigreich) from engaging in tax avoidance.
The ICA-2020 attempts to achieve its goals through the establishment of the Indigenous Corporations Committee, a government body under the Economic Affairs Ministry that is tasked with bringing corporations seeking to incorporate abroad or sell assets to or receive loans from subsidiaries registered abroad to the Supreme Court under the terms of the act where the Committee believes such an action would reduce the benefit of those corporations' conduct to the Republic.
Critics have said that the act will introduce too direct a political element to the government's interaction with businesses and reduce competitiveness. Angelika Beike MV and Economics Affair Minister is the primary benefactor of the act and dismisses these criticisms. She claims that the requirement to bring all cases to the Supreme Court invalidates the political interference argument whilst the act will have a negligible effect on the competitiveness of Danziger businesses.
CEO of Royal Danzig Group (RDG) Joachim von Olivsburg, famous for his continued attempts to establish a Grand Duchy, has expresses his support for the act. In an interview with the Danziger Morgenpost, Von Olivsburg stated that companies registering abroad might immediately benefit that company but it would fail to offer any benefits to the Danzigreich or its citizens.

Lanfang Nationalist Party Leadership Election Results
With the Lanfang Nationalist Party membership having 4 weeks to vote among the top two candidates, the results are finally in, and Abdul Noor Maaiz has come out victorious.
Final results are as follows:
Abdul Noor Maaiz: 56.34%
Lewis Khoo Shou Wen: 43.66%
Turnout: 57.6% of eligible party members
Abdul Noor Maaiz will now become the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, becoming the first Malay and Muslim Leader of the Opposition and Leader of a major political party represented in Parliament. Speaking with reporters after his victory, Mr. Abdul said he hoped to regain the trust of all voters, in particular the Muslim community in Lanfang, and that he would work to serve as a bridge between all branches of the the party.
Mr. Abdul is expected to announce his Shadow Cabinet in the coming days, though he has already announced his appointment of former Defense Minister Lee Char Bor as Deputy Leader of the Lanfang Nationalist Party and Shadow Minister of Defense and State Security. When asked if he would again extend the offer to the New Peoples Party to join a united front Shadow Cabinet, he replied, Ms. Regina Lam has already made her views on that clear, so my goal is to build a strong Shadow Cabinet from within LNP ranks, representing the diverse views held by LNP members.
Lewis Khoo, who had previously served as Deputy Leader and had the endorsement former Prime Minister Chang Siu Chiu, declined and interview with RTL News, but congratulated Abdul Noor Maaiz on his victory and stated that he hopes to continue being a part of rebuilding the LNP and getting back in government.

Bureau of Infrastructure Development (BID)
Following years of research and development, BID and other agencies have approved the Byzantium Canal Project.
This project is large in scale, and is anticipated to take 4 years (208 RL days) to complete, with costs being projected at up to $23 billion dollars.
We are working with our partners in the USSR (Novaya rossiyskaya imperiya) and they have agreed to invest $10 billion into the project (they will be working with private companies to secure these investments, as well as various amounts of government money that will be disclosed by them if needed to USSR media outlets)
The other $13 billion is being invested by public and private corporations and by federal and state governments.
The project details include the following:
The waterway will have a length of 45 km (28 mi), with a depth of 20.75 m (68.1 ft). Its width will be 360 m (1,180 ft) on the surface and 275 m (902 ft) wide at the bottom.
the project will pass through Lake Küçükçekmece near the Marmara Sea. It will pass through the districts of Avcılar and Başakşehir before reaching the Black Sea in the Arnavutköy district north of the city. Seven kilometers of the route passes through Küçükçekmece, 3.1 kilometers goes through Avcılar, 6.5 kilometers goes through Başakşehir, and the major 28.6-kilometer part of the route goes through Arnavutköy.
The largest ship sizes that can pass through the canal were determined as 275-350 meters long, 49 meters wide, draft of 17 meters and an air draft of 58 meters.
We have begun the process of employing those who will work on the project, already having secured 6k people. An additional phase of hiring will include an additional 7-9k workers. The Army Corps of Engineers and local reserve units will play a role in the construction of the canal, with 2,000 units being deployed to assist.
When the Byzantium Strait is completed, it will employ 900 to 1k workers, and is estimated to bring in an additional $8 to $10 billion per year in revenue.
This project will help relieve ship traffic in the Bosphorus and reduce time in the canal, enabling the Black Sea community and Hellas and others who utilize the canal to save time and money, and increase overall trade.
The Byzantium Canal has also been determined to not be subject to the Montreux Convention Regarding the Regime of the Straits. During its development agreements will be reached with members of the international community regarding the new Byzantium Canal.
Basileus Nikolaus Atreidai is excited for the completion of the canal, and the many benefits it will bring to the area. Economic and job development of Hellas and expanding trade is the gateway to a future in which Hellas is to be a dominant player in trade in the European and overall global community.
Phase 1 is set to begin within the next month. As we approach the completion, BID will make further announcements as needed.

A temporary committee has been formed to look over and approve assistance for Donau-bundesreich. This committee will oversee infrastructural investments, and rebuilding of infrastructure, as well as deployment of labor.
This infrastructure is part of the committees phase 1 plans and will be working with the larger state governments and local governments to identify areas of need.
It will also work with the Hellenes Armed Forces to provide humanitarian aid and medicine. Rural communities are an area of particular concern
Phase 1 will include a team of 5,000 workers secured on contract from various construction and infrastructural entities across Hellas, along with 1,000 members of The Reserve Hellenes Soldiers to assist in construction and provide security at job sites. Funding includes $500,000,000 from the Hellas Government, and an additional $400,000,000 from private and public companies in Hellas that will be working in Danubia.
The Hellenistic Temples across Greater Hellas are also donated $5,000,000 in funds to provide healthcare in rural communities.
We will be working with UAN and ICC members to identify additional areas of opportunity.
Rural infrastructural development will help mitigate future costs of moving supplies and medicine across the country and be a greater benefit to the people of Danubia.

The Prime Minister has yet again used a foreign event to justify her actions and goals for the nation. Regional elections are just around the corner and she is catering for as many last minute votes as she can get for her party. Once again lamenting how diverse of a country we are and that we should be even more diverse, foreign and unknown. She wants the Maharkati we know to disappear into the dust and to reform it into her image. This may seem like a simple gesture to most but it has underlying meanings for the nation as a whole. We need to keep our identity as Indians and Nepalis, as Hindus and to push back against these radical foreign elements infecting our nation from within. We are Maharkati not America. This very reason, among others, is why many of the opposition parties have pledged to form a pact in the national congress following the elections in hopes to defeat the governing coalition and make a new government. The Prime Minister can only do so much, then it comes down to the people to vote and make the change to save this nation.

Tremors Felt Throughout Nepal, Sikkim, Northern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar - Himalaya TV4 News
Several tremors have been felt throughout much of the north from Nepal to the northernmost reaches of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The tremors started early in the morning around 7:00 local time in Kathmandu and lasted for two minutes then continue later in the morning again around 10:00 local time and lasted for a minute. There has not been any damage reported at this time. The government has been notified by the national science committee in the congress and is receiving reports on any findings and if any major earthquakes are expected to happen in the near future. In the early afternoon the government made an announcement that based on the data and information from the NSC it does not expect a major earthquake to happen anytime soon and life should continue on as normal.

As a commonwealth of Orange-bourgogne, Rijkenland had (like it's forefather state) recruited select men from Gurkha villages to serve as irregulars in the Army, having over 100 years of elite service, including all combat theatres of World War I, World War II, the Bolivian War and the Amazonian Bush War. Gurkhas serve as Special Forces Auxillaries under the Army Special Forces (ASF) for eight years before having the option to be granted generous retirement benefits and citizenship for him and his family members. They also have an option to extend their eight-year commitment to ten to nine to undertake training as Special Forces Instructors, returning to Maharkati to bring with them extensive special forces experience.

Second Dragonfly Urban farm to be built in Chicago
With the success of New York City's Dragonfly Urban Farm Tower, a second one has been announced to be built in Chicago, Illinois. Though it will be smaller in height to the limits set by the Federal Aviation Agency, the Chicago Urban Farm Tower will feature all the same advances and features as the New York City Urban Farm and will also aid in supplying the city with a steady flow of fresh vegetables year round and livestock as well. Though it will not replace the many farms throughout the province and merely supplement them, many farmers are concerned that it will take away business but they have been that the urban farm will allow them to sell their goods faster and will even help supply them should they have issues getting supplies for their farms. The tower is expected to be at least 1,100 feet in height and be completed in four years at the latest. It is further planned that more such urban farms will be built in other major cities in the near future and that they will hopefully ease the supply and demand issues that some cities will face in the future. This also includes the Tizca Project now ongoing in New Mexico, though the Tizca Project will have it's own urban farms as well.

In coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, universities in Athens and Byzantium, the ADC announces the following: $35 million in research into the effectiveness of Urban Farming Structures and their possible use in the Aegean Islands.
The Aegean Islands have a population that is growing, and is also faced with several million tourists every single year. The use of such farming structures have seen success in various parts of the world, and we plan on conducting research on them to see if they prove fruitful for use in the Aegean islands.
This will put less strain on farmers on the mainland, and could help supplement mainland food supplies as well.

Exim Bank of ChinaAfter reviewing an application made by the Hellenes League for a concessional loan to assist in financing the construction of the Byzantium Canal, the Exim Bank of China has made an arrangement with the Hellenes government and has loaned 7,110,000,000 Renminbi (1 billion USD) for the stated purpose. As with all concessional loans, there is no interest. The deadline for repayment of the loan is in ten years (520 days), with a grace period of four years (208 days) afterwards in which if the loan is repaid there will be no penalties or fees.
Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of ChinaA Guest Worker Program has been agreed upon between the Chinese and Helenes governments in which 1000 Chinese construction workers will be sent to the Hellenes League, where they will assist in construction of the Byzantium Canal and structures near it in exchange for pay and housing by the Hellenes Government, and will also be given a financial reward for their work abroad by the Chinese Government upon their return. They will arrive via plane in groups of 75-100 throughout the next two weeks (2 days) after construction begins on the canal.

Create a metropolitan center to accommodate multiple activities, with national recognition and international appeal.
Apply pioneering urban development and reconstruction and the delivery to the whole metropolitan area of the capital of green parks and space for recreational activities as well as high quality infrastructure for cultural, sports, tourist, educational, research and social activities.
Apply innovative designs, methods, and techniques for the development of the Saronic Gulf seafront and the shift of the focus of the city life to the coast.
It also creates the Greater Athens Revitalization Council (GARC)
It sets aside $300,000,000 in funding for the first phase of the planned revitalization efforts across Greater Athens.
Additional funding will be sourced from investments from public and private companies, local taxes, and donations from the public. Donation from the public have placed a single donation cap at $10,000, however donations are not able to be claimed on any tax returns filed.
Phase 1 will be announced within the next month by the the council.

A travel warning has been placed on Central America Federation due to the ongoing drug war in its territory.
This means that travel to the country is currently prohibited for both business and and pleasure. Commercial vessels are permitted in limited amounts at this time.
Citizens in country have been notified and will be encouraged to travel back to their place of residence in Hellas.
This warning will be looked at on a month to month basis as we monitor the situation.
We hope for an end to the ongoing conflict and look forward to a resolution soon.
