Imperial Eagle wrote:"we have no military ties with either nation and very little economic relations. We have a mere observer staff with both nations and no trade deals as our biggest trade partner is Canton. We have refrained from involving ourselves in Asia due to deals with Canton but let me warn you Your Highness: Do not presume to dictate foreign policy to another nation. We will not stand for that, just as you would not. We will not act against you but the moment you move against us in our part of the Pacific or elsewhere, we will return the favor. I'm sure you can agree to that correct? we get what we want and you get what you want."

Roosevelt reptiles, ignoring her response of using his name in shorthand

"Then its perfect, if you have no ties with either, just say what I said on national television, to be broadcast to the world. And we have a deal. Anyways." she gets up and is handed a cigarette by her aid, she lights and and begins walking out of the room. The Erayii Kaiser and the Empress of Korea both came together to sign a special agreement between the two nations, one which would be revised and finalized within a week. Negotiators on both sides, including the Monarchs planned to announce the topic of the deal after it was signed and sent to Korea for confirmation.

The pair called this historic agreement one which would help usher the Reich and the Korean Empire into a new and stronger era, as well as show historical ties between the nations.

As Roosevelt watches the Empress leaves, he sneers as he turns and leaves. Andrews walks besides him and is the first to speak

"Mr. President, you're not going on live TV just to sate her ego are you?"

Roosevelt scoffs at the thought of kowtowing to a foreign power and replies

"Not in the slightest John. It will be a cold day in Hell before I do such a thing. the best she will have to settle for is a letter. Keep it vague but not too vague that they won't get the message. there will come a day, a day of reckoning when we make our return to that side of the world and when we do...there will be Hell to pay. If the boys at the Skunks Works and other Black Sites get their projects up and running...this nation will be untouchable to all but the strongest of nations. Nations like korea will be but a mere blip on the radar and they will get what is coming to them. They may think this a victory but in the end...they will prepare for the Arrival."

Andrews notices the grim look on Roosevelt's face and feels a shiver down his spine at the words of the President. Both men leave the building and make their way to the Union Embassy to speak with the OSS/CIA Station Chiefs and ambassador before returning to Washington.

Now that our network of in-land fortifications are completed we should expect the arrival of the of the US SIGNIT (Signals Intelligence) team very soon. They have been given a appropriate facilities within our hidden fortification networks. They are expected to send a team of 5 operators, however we would tolerate a group of up to 20 US military staff to man the station. The staff will enter Papua using diplomatic documentation rather than military, and the necessary equipment and technology required to effectively intercept foreign communications will be provided by the US themselves, delivered in classified cargo vessels at their own discretion. The facility will not appear on any standard map of Papua, civillian or military, and officials will only be made aware on a need to know basis. The facility will have a fenced perimeter guarded by the Papuan army, the guards too will not be informed of what lies inside. No US flags or insignia are to be visible outside the building.

John Little, aide to Ambassador Francis Drake walked to the embassy motor pool and got into one of the many government issue BMWs and headed for Charlottenburg Palace with a letter from the President. He had seen the contents of the letter and though he wasn't aware of what the letter meant, he was tasked to hand it to the Korean Empress in person as the President and Secretary Andrews had departed for Washington. He looked at the copy he was given in the event the first was lost as the car made it's way down the road

To the Empress of Korea,

It is my duty to inform you that the Union Government wishes to apologize for any past wrongs committed against the Korean people by past administrations of this nation. It is my hope that both our nations can return to normal relations in the future and perhaps one day see a return of embassies. Until then I hope that this letter will suffice as giving a live speech is out of the question due to political reasons

Signed,

Matthew Roosevelt, 48th President of the Union

Little tucked the copy and the first letter into his inner pocket as the car approached the palace where the Korean Empress was currently staying. Exiting the car, he steeled himself and walked in

Kang: Firstly, I would like to thank each and every one of you for showing up to this emergency meeting today, I deeply appreciate the will of you and your respective nations to make a change for the better in the world today, hopefully shoring the tide of neo-imperialism which seems to stream from the Axis of Canton. As they have showed up first, I would like to address Her Imperial Majesty Emperor Akane about announcing an end to centuries of Sino-Japanese tension and hatred, replacing it with bilateral friendship and support between nations, serving as a bulwark to stabilize Asia and bring peace and order back to this chaotic continent. We have had a Sino-Japanese friendship treaty drafted, which will serve as an official symbol of the end of this aggression, and I have already provided my signature, and I would be honored if you would as well, your majesty. Secondly, I would like to address the representatives of each nation congregated here today. We have come together to negotiate a pact which would bind our nations together in cooperation and mutual defense, to serve as the vanguard of order, democracy, and national determination worldwide. Today I would like to announce the official proposition of the Nanjing International Treaty Organization (NITO). This organization would have tenants for increased economic support and integration between member states, helping to foster growth for all of us, as well as a shared space program, weapons development medium, and even a future shared nuclear program both for energy and an alliance-wide nuclear umbrella, not to mention mutual defense. With your blessings and support, I am sure this alliance will last for many years to come, raise living conditions of people worldwide, and help bring order and balance to the world. We now have ample time to discuss the details of the treaty, with the opportunity to ask pertinent questions or discuss potential changes in doctrine. Once we have a consensus, an official signing of the treaty will be organized. I now officially open the floor to the representatives gathered!

Emperor Akane walks up smile and said “I’m ready to bring peace to Asia” and signs it then turned around to address the rest the room “ladies and gentlemen nations and observers I feel that the proposed organisation will be great for Asia, as Asia is once again threatening war upon itself and many people like me is fearful this threat could lead up into a regional world war or the 3rd Great War (WW3) and so NITO will be great protection of that” then she walks back to her seat

The Republic of Papua welcomes this proposal in principle. However we may take issue with certain clauses in practice. Papua remains pro-denuclearisation and could not sign up to an organisation built on nuclear weapons defence capabilities. However some sort of counter balance to the Axis of Canton is required to bring stability to Asia. Papua strongly supports economic inter-relations built on solidarity, mutual respect and sustainable development.

Kang: Though I understand your concern about the nature of our government, I can ensure you that we are indeed a democracy. However, our model is a little more confusing, as it is not representative to the highest levels as the western model is, as Qiandans are a more collective society and thus believe in the success of the group over the success of the individual. With this as the case, we have closed elections for our top leadership positions to ensure the best for the job make it there. Additionally, our position of Premier could be compared to the old Roman position of dictator, albeit for life. These vast freedoms afforded by not having to worry about constant re-election for offices have allowed us to get as far as we have, and it has shown. I would personally recommend reading some writings from Lee Kuan Yew. Regardless of this, I agree that formal diplomatic relations between our nations are long overdue, and I thank you for seeing the potential that mutual investment, maybe even political cooperation, could benefit both our countries tremendously. I shall dispatch a diplomatic mission to Gerdalle as soon as the current crisis we face resolves itself, and I eagerly await the word of the king on the matter of my proposition. Unfortunately, as I would like to speak on the potential future of our nations cooperations more, I regretfully have to depart immediately for Nanjing for urgent business. Kang shakes the minister’s hand Good day to you sir, and a safe flight home.

OOC: I know Kang is already in Nanjing, this is just to finish the conversation.
Jean-Luc Leclerq, MoFA: "May your dealings in Nanjing be successful, God knows another world war is not something we need right now," says the Minister whilst shaking hand with Kang. "I will be looking forward to hearing from your government in regards to the planned exchange of diplomatic missions. In the meantime, HM's Council of Ministers will discuss your proposition and we shall inform you of the decision. Have a safe flight and hopefully, next time we meet, it will be under more fortunate circumstances."

After the conclusion of the Ball, the Minister and his wife head straight for the airport, where they board the government Embraer ERJ145 jet that's been awaiting them. Aboard, the Minister summons his assistant: "Tell the pilot to head for Brussels, as fast as possible...and when you're done with that, arrange me a prompt meeting with the King and the Prime Minister. I have urgent matters to discuss and to report."

Director Yuso Declares Government Decision on "Knife Control"

"Hello, And welcome back to Usari News Network, Your stop for up to date National News." Yusef belted off his standard welcome to the viewers. "Today, we have a statement from Director Yuso about the recent calls for knife bans, And I am certain a number of you will not like what he said."

The scene quickly changes to a recording from a press conference held by Director Yuso, dozens of reporters waiting to ask questions. He takes a deep breath as he considers what e is about to say carefully. "People of Usari... You had chosen me in the hopes that I would bring the change our nation deserved. And I have indeed brought change, much of it good. But even I can admit when I have done something wrong, And that is what I will do today. Some time ago I introduced a general weapon ban because I believed that it would reduce reduce violent crimes in our nation."

He reached under the podium he was speaking at and pulled out a large folder filled with documents, looking more like a paper-back book then a folder. "The documents provided by our men and women in blue have proven me wrong, Heinously wrong in fact. What I thought would take away weapons from criminals only enabled them to prey on those I took the weapons from. Today, I will let this continue no longer. As of today, I have chosen to use an executive order and repeal my ban on weapons. Of course, previous weapon laws from before the initial ban will be reinstated, as not doing so would be reckless on my part, so in one month Gun dealers and other such suppliers of self defense tools may reapply for a license to sell such things again." He paused waiting for questions from the reporters, but the scene changed back to Yusef before they could.

"If you with to see the full press conference, it will be hosted on www.UNN.unet/Archive, But now it is time for a commercial break. When we return, we'll hold another discussion with several political theorist on how this may effect Director Yuso's approval ratings."

Usari National News: BREAKING NEWS
Anti-Weapon Advocates cause Riot!

"Hello, I'm Joshua Yusef. Just a few hours ago we had received news that a group of Anti-Weapon Protesters formerly from "A.W.O", "Adults against Weaponized Ordinance", who have still continued to protest Director Yuso's lift of the weapon ban had their protest in the Capital Market District interrupted when younger but more radical members in their group started to attack those who exited a newly opened self defense store whether they bought anything or not. This caused local law enforcement to be called, to which other protesters started to protect the culprits."

The scene switches to a recording from the protest taken from a bystander's smartphone, With four officers trying to arrest the suspected assailants. "Guys, Look. We can ethier arrest the people assaulting random on-goers, or we can call for backup and arrest all of you for safeguarding criminals. I personally don't care, I'm just here to do my job." As soon as the officer finished, the camera suddenly looked up as a brick coming from the protestors flew through the air and hit one of the officers square in the head, knocking him out instantly. Another officer right next to him quickly caught him and set him down as the other two called for back-up and the video stops.

The scene then switches back to Yusef as he straightens up the papers in his hands. "Eye witness accounts claim that after the officer, a Rickus Aufflackern, was hit with the brick, the Protesters-turned-Rioters started to attack the other officers after they had called for back-up. When Riot Police and Paramedics got to the scene, they were surprised when on-lookers tried to break into the Rioters to drag the Officer's out until Riot Officers took over. After making a wedge of shields and batons to cut into the crowd, Over 80 people were pulled out from under the crowd and taken to the hospital, 70 of of whom are now in critical condition. The rest of the on-lookers and shop owners were soon evacuated by Riot Officers and any stores that sold weapons were cleared of all inventory to prevent Rioters from looting them."

Yusef flips to another page as images of those currently in the hospital showed on screen as well as a live feed of the riot still occuring. "Riot Officers are still on standby at the location and have kept the rioters contained to avoid any further damage, but estimates are already skyrocketing into the millions as the riot goes on. We will update you on this story as it happens. This has been Joshua Yusef on UNN, Your source for national news."

In regards to the recently announced SDI project (note: not the Star War SDI) DARPA has been tasked to look into developing a viable missile defense system that is more advanced than the current Lancer Anti Missile System. As the lancer Anti Missile System is of limited use against ICBMs, Congress has approved an increase to your budget of no higher than 80 Billion dollars to research the develop the following idea: Must be able to fully cover the mainland and overseas regions of the Union from all incoming ICBM attacks, the missiles must be lightweight and fit into a satellite that can be deployed to Low Earth Orbit. Said satellite must be protected against anti satellite laser systems and likewise pellet munitions, and must be able to be deployed in a sensible orbit so as to better protect the Union mainland and overseas regions. It is expected that such a system with full coverage will cost 10 Billion dollar and you are to run simulations before conducting test. With the new threats that the Union faces, it therefore in the best interests of this government to do what must be needed to defend the Homeland from all threats.

In the office of Prime Minister Lieke van de Velde, Brussels, Gerdalle

The Prime Minister was sitting in her office, thinking about recent meeting of the Council of Ministers and especially about Jean-Luc Leclerq's report. The Minister of Foreign Affairs reported what he witnessed in Vashnal during the Ball. 'Had I not known Jean-Luc for so long, I would think he might be exaggerating...but I trust his judgement. We might really be heading towards another global showdown. That we shall soon find out. Now, let's see what the Erausi kanzlerin has to say.'

In the meantime, a government Mercedes-Benz picked up the Reichkanzlerin Amelia Welfs after her arrival at the Brussels airport. The car, accompanied by two police cars, then sped throught the city towards the office of the Prime Minister. "Your Excellence, follow me this way, please," said a PM's assistant, once the car with the Reichkanzlerin halted before the office, extending his hand.

The Prime Minister was still contemplating in her office when her assistant entered. "The Reichkanzlerin is here, shall I bring her in?," asked the assistant. "Of course, don't let her wait...and bring us some refreshments, thank you," reacted Lieke van de Velde.

"Welcome to Brussels, dear Reichkanzlerin, I'm very much honoured to finally meet you in person. I hope the journey was pleasant. And please, take a seat and should you need anything - coffee, water or cognac - my assistant shall arrange for it." Said the Prime Minister, extending her hand for a handshake.

"Now, tell me, what is it that Eraus wants? What brings you here, to Gerdalle? Our nations have a long history, history that has not always been pleasant...but that lies in the past. I am now interested in the present time." Asked the Prime Minister, observing the Reichkanzlerin's reactions. "I mean, it has been a long time since representatives of Eraus and Gerdalle last met. Thus, I am naturally curious, why is it that today you are sitting before me?"

Your Excellency,

On behalf of the Cabinet of Orange-bourgogne I can tell you that we noticed your plead to our interference in this matter. We are willing to officially condemn the actions of Southwest China, and we will do so within a reasonable amount of time. We will also reconsider the relationship between the Cantonese military units on Jeju Island, however, we will start a dialogue with Canton first.

I hope to have informed you sufficiently, if, for whatever reason, you want a personal meeting with me or another Cabinet Minister on my behalf, please do not hesitate to write to me.

Southwest China wrote:Directory of Foreign Affairs

The DFA has stated it now recognizes Hai jin lao as a rogue state and a potential source of major instability in the Southwest Pacific.

By order of the Chancellor, Captain Xi Hei-Yang - Commander of Strike Group 3 - is to institute a blockade of Port Moresby, Hai jin lao, by air and sea. A one week grace period will be permitted for foreign registered ships and aircraft, and during such period all foreign citizens are advised to depart the city. Following the closure of this one week grace period, all aircraft and naval vessels attempting to enter or leave the city will be warned to turn around. Refusal will be met with action from Cantonese naval assets in the vicinity.

Captain Xi Hei-Yang has been ordered to put his forces on the highest level of alert, and take extreme precaution in handling approaching vessels or aircraft. Potential threats to Cantonese forces should be dealt with as soon as is practical, however the Captain will be permitted considerably leeway in defining what constitutes a threat to his forces.

The Department for External Affairs gives notice that the Cabinet of Orange-bourgogne condemns the new policy of Southwest China to recognise Hai jin lao as a rogue state. We furthermore wish to stress that we dislike the actions taken by the Directory of Defense so far. We urge all parties to look for peaceful solutions.

If any further actions are taken in a way that provokes violence, the Department will consider to take appropriate actions for the guarantee of the safety and independence of the Island of Jeju.

Ambassador Manuel Nguema replies:

First of all, I congratulate the representatives of Qianda and Japan for the Friendship Treaty that was drafted as it will mark the beginning of a new era in Asia.

Now, I can speak in the name of the Government and the People of the Socialist Republic of Furstia, and we are eager to cooperate with nations like Qianda, Japan and Papua.

However - and this is not intended as an affront to the interests of the Sotriuvanian or Union delegations present in this meeting - I am proponent that only the Socialist ideal that has allowed Furstia and our countries to prosper should guide the principles of this International Treaty Organization. It is the only choice that our Peoples have against the imperialist threat that has resurfaced on our World, and they count on us to defend that. An ideal of order, sovereignty, friendship and peace between our nations.

We cannot allow any sort of internal weakness in the structure and framework of this project. Otherwise, we will have to deal with the consequences. Consequences that the imperialists will take advantage of. And we will have failed before even starting with this Organization.

Having that said, I can assure you that the Socialist Republic of Furstia will be fully committed to this project and we will cooperate to the best of our abilities in the economic, military and scientific aspects.
