Lynna City, Imperial Capital Region, Labyrnna

Legislation originating from Assemblyman Fernando Gutierrez (S) was passed 323-170 calling for the reorganization of regions within the Empire of Labyrnna. "While this bill will not immediately reorganize the regions, it will serve as the basis that some of the regions are inherently flawed in their design. Why must the Basques not have their region? Why must the north of the empire be so fragmented? This bill will call on a special commission among the great minds of the nation that will allow us to determine what will be the best path forward in this regard."

It is expected that the Imperial Senate will pass this with minimal if any changes, and the Emperor has already indicated his support of the reorganization. "I too believe that it is time for such a reorganization. It has been many decades since there has been any changes, and frankly, some of the provinces are archaic and downright crudely drawn. They may have served a purpose in a previous time, but we are looking forward as a nation, and change is a necessity."

A referendum is making its way to the polls on November 1st. Will the city of Byzantium become the City of Constantinople once again? While the specific wording of the referendum is being hashed out, it is for certain that citizens in Byzantium and the Municipal area will decide the name.

It has been centuries since the city has been named Constantinople, with the first Hellenistic Kingdom capturing it and renaming it to Byzantium to erase its roman past.

This referendum comes as the Byzantine Revivalist Group has pressured officials in the Anatolian territories to honor more of the actual history of the nation.

We reached out to the Archon's office for comment, but as of yet we have no response.

In the interest of space research, NASA would be more than happy to help reach this goal as the Union is a leader in space exploration and research. In the meantime, NASA would be happy to help train future astronauts and even take them on missions to orbits to one of the Union's space stations, either Griffin Station or Freedom Station. Both stations would allow for a range of experiments for your researchers to conduct as Griffin Station has partial gravity due to its rotating design while Freedom Station is a zero gravity environment.

Basilieus Nikolaus, Archon Alexander and Prime Minister Alex all sit in the office of the Basileus. With them are officials from Hermes Space Systems, members from the war ministry and the Foreign Ministry

Nikolaus: "So, we work with the Americans for the time being with space related projects. I take it our friends in the USSR will not be happy?"

Foreign Ministry Rep.: "The overall attitude of the ICC might change in respect to our standing with them. we can make it clear that we are only working with them in regards to space related projects, but even then it still seems as an ICC security risk. Archon Metraw can explain more if needed."

Alexander: "Sir, my office is prepared to send a notice to our ICC allies on the project. The lessons will be invaluable down the line, and we will still have ICC reps here at the Hermes Space Complex. We worked on the deal with Space X, and we have access to their research, designs, and data. We would be a decade or more behind with out that info."

Hermes Space Systems deputy secretary Trisha Kamponos: "Alexander is right. The Space X deal was crucial. We have design lay outs by our engineers already based on the data. Working with the Americans a bit more is needed, and will help with our national goals."

Nikolaus: "Alexander, send the notice to the ICC and send the response to the Americans. I want our flag on the moon."

Election Update

With the election just over a month away, speculation of who will win continues. The main parties that are projected to come out on top are the Democratic Party of the People and the Party of the Republic (Democratic Party and Republic Party, respectively). Polls from the various prefectures are showing that the election could be a close race between incumbent President Sanda Koin, and the leader of the DPP, Akiya Komi.

President Koin announced that if he wins the election, he would start focusing on making Japan independent of foreign help. He believes it is time for Japan to rise in the region on it's own and any help would hinder the chances of that ever happening as Japan could be seen as needy or weak. This comment was met with backlash from Senator Komi as she believes that without help from other nations, Japan couldn't grow and prosper. Komi believes that isolationism, such as what President Koin in proposing, would cause a regression in many areas of Japan such as society and the economy. This has been the main point for the debates for the past month.

While the two largest parties are predicted to come out on top, The New Energy Party (Japanese Green Party) has gained popularity in a few prefectures, mainly the prefectures of Fukushima, Miyagi, and Iwate.

ENCRYPTED RESPONSE

We have discussed this offer in length, and unfortunately we will have to decline this offer.

Based on existing treaties and signed agreements, Hermes Space Systems will only be able to work with our allies in the Soviet Union and other ICC allies.

Chancellor Boldizar Announces De-Germanization Program

Chancellor Kende Boldizar of the South Slavian Socialist Republic has announced a series of De-Germanization Programs across the Južnaslavija as part of increasing efforts from the central administration in Budapest to grant more powers and autonomy to the republics and their leadership. Under this program, German influences across the nation would slowly be phased out in exchange for more local terms including renaming a number of cities across the republic to their local names (many of which have been in use unoffically for a number of years alongside their official German and Hungarian names).

This morning, the Sabor Južneslavije, the national legislature of the South Slavian Socialist Republic, approved this plan and established the Odbor za Degermanizaciju Južne Slavije (Committee for the DeGermanization of South Slavia) to oversee the process and approve any new names that are to be adopted in the future. Recent Announcements from this committee have approved a number of cultural celebrations to be used across the republic. While many cities have simply changed their official names to the commonly used counterparts, the committee has announced that german settlements across the south will be granted new names entirely.

Ebensburg, the city built by german and hungarian settlers following the sacking of Bosnia, will be renamed to Novi Sara (New Sarajevo) while Chancellor Boldizars home city of Spalato has announced that it will be changing its own name to Svete Kendor, celebrating the chancellors efforts in liberating the city. The City of Agram/Zagreb has also been a hot topic of debate, being a large center of the Danubian Civil War with many battles surrounding the city completely destroying a large part of the former settlement and displacing thousands. Because of this, the ODJS has announced that Agram shall be renamed to MIRAGRAD (the city of peace) and shall serve as a permanent reminder of the sacrifices made to liberate Danubia from imperial oppression and the bright future that lies ahead of us.

Other confirmed city name changes are listed below:

Sankt-Veit - Rijeka
Zara - Zadar
Esseg - Osijek
Erwiße - Banja Luka
Ragusa - Dubrovnik
Neusatz - Novi Sad

Albus taradrus

Announcement from Head of Centari, William Russell

I am glad to announce that Albus Taradrus now has its own official airline, Albus Airways. Albus Airways will be run by the previous leader of the Civil Aviation Administration, Kauri Bennets. Kauri will work hand in hand with aviation experts from all over to help fill the void of air travel within and outbound from Albus Taradrus. The Centari approved of the airline proposal 49-10 and granted AA (Albus Airways) the money needed to buy the following aircraft: 20 B777-300ER’s, 15 B787-9’s, 25 Airbus A320’s, 29 ATR72-600’s, and 20 Q300’s. This large fleet will grant foreigners and Taradrusians the opportunity to fly to every corner of our territory and beyond. This will also open the opportunity to gain the country millions and grant new jobs and industries needed to sustain the large fleet. Kauri said to me just yesterday “We have a lot of work to do, but I think my colleagues and I have enough experience with aviation to make this one of the largest successes of our now independent nation.” The fleet will be spread around our land, from Campbell to Tokelau, this will also provide the air power needed to supply our hundreds of islands and remote regions, giving the rural and indegenous populations the support they need to grow economically from tourism and the numerous exports that previously took weeks to export away from their desolate areas. I look forward to the public's reactions to this new leap forward for our small nation, expect further good news on the research within our seas as well.

Celebrations Held on the Anniversary of the Reunification of Anzoania

It has been 37 years since the civil war ended, this momentous moment in Anzoanian history was marked with a two day long public holiday and with a festival in the capital of Santiago. Thousands attended a ceremony on 12th August, President Joan Kennedy Assured that his government seeks to maintain the democratic institution, and that he foresees it lasting for more than 100 years from this day. At the events the former, first president of the reformed state, 88 year old, Lewis D. Garcia was bestowed a newly erected statue in his honour and gave a speach expressing his delight at the fact that the institution still held up strong, commending the current president of his ability to listen to the people, and act on the issues promptly.

A day after the official commemorations, President Joan B. Kennedy signed an executive order that provisioned the military with funds to upgrade some of it deteriorating equipment, and establishing trust programs with the public, so that the public could “rest assure that this nation and its institution has no desire to become a militarised state.” That equipment was being replaced to keep the military up to date, and in good working order. Older equipment was to be donated or sold to nations that need equipment, but aren’t concerned about having the latest equipment. Equipment is to not be provided by institution without intent to solely defend and retain order. This means that a foreign institution which is given equipment is not to provision it to utilise in hostilities against another institution. The equipment which is being passed on was purchased from the United States and Brazil during the late 1990s and early 2000s, the equipment being second hand has become obsolete given the task of defending against forces of more advanced nature. However some equipment may be worth passing on, other must be retired in due course.

President Akiya Komi's First Presidential Speech

My fellow Japanese citizens, it is truly an honorable moment we have today. I stand before you as a sign of change, and better change at that. In this society, we are taught that women are lesser than men, but as I stand here today, as President of Japan, I prove that everyone is equal. Any man, woman, or general person can achieve anything if they put their mind forward. As President of Japan, I will move forward with that attitude. If we think forward and progressively, we, as a nation, can advance and do many great things.

For far too long, we have stuck with tradition. Tradition has stagnated us and we have slowed our progress. We once led in technological advancements but fell behind because we didn't embrace change. We fell into tradition and was left behind until the moment we decided to push for change. I can promise you that as President of Japan, we will push for change. That change would be for a better Japan, a bigger Japan, and a safer Japan. We will be seen as the shining star that we are on all horizons.

It is past time to make full amends to those we have wronged in the past. Holding your head high when it should be leveled shows that you do not care, and that attitude contributed to our stagnation. Our economy has began to stagnate, and I vow to change that for the better. Our population is plateauing, and we will work against that stagnation, as well! As your new President, I vow to take Japan into a new prosperous era. Our new golden era!
