Scotia Flow In Detail (sort of) - The Election
After months of preparations and convincing, four candidates have been selected for the role of General Secretary to replace long-serving Magnus Kirk, the Mayor of Twatt, the capital city.
The candidates were:
1. Oliver Cottwall, former Defense Minister, conservative Gravonist
2. Jeffrey Daunton, new to politics, Gravonist, wants to join GAUNTLET
3. Thomas Ross, hardcore capitalist with a love for democracy
4. Gregory Hammerton, nephew of former Governor, radical carsonist
Candidate 1: Oliver Cottwall
Former defense minister, conservative Gravonist who wants to continue the path the Scotia Flow has went on after the coup in 1934. Popular amongst the masses.
Candidate 2: Jeffrey Daunton
A young, bit more "progressive?" Gravonist new to politics who wants to basically simp for Finland and join GAUNTLET (which would violate the neutrality the nation is currently maintaining a bit). Somewhat popular.
Candidate 3: Thomas Ross
Formerly American businessman, co-owns one of Scotia-Cola factories. Hardcore capitalist, despises Gravonists. Some like him, even though he would probably switch out the Governor if he had the chance. (Not that it would matter much, the role of the Governor is becoming more and more representative)
Candidate 4: Gregory Hammerton
Nephew of the former Governor who is still a bit pissed about the coup. Bit of a radical carsonist, likes the Russians and dreams about expanding Scotia Flow. His popularity is right about tied with Thomas Ross, his supporters being mainly veterans of the 1920 uprising.
75 of Scotia Flow's most prominent businessmen, government officials (including most of the former ministers), high-ranking military officers and Mayors (aka the Elite) gathered in late May to select the new General Secretary. The debate went so far that one of Thomas Ross' supporters had to be escorted out by police officers for pulling out his vioently American-looking large caliber revolver and almost firing. Finally, on May 29th, the votes were counted. Oliver Cottwall won with 36 votes followed by, surprisingly, Thomas Ross with 20 votes, Jeffrey Daunton with 15 and (we've kind of expected this) Gregory Hammerton with 4 votes (only 5,33% of the vote).

A Short Backstory
A small backstory to Nova Rossija, originally being the German Colony of Kenya with a small Slavic population mainly of Poles and some Russian settlers. Then later it was Anti Communists of all classes from Russia and later the rest of Eastern Europe especially areas under Communist Totalitarianism, many of whom were mainly Ukrainian. Kenya soon became a hotspot for Refugees who wanted to escape struggles in Europe but either couldnt pay or didnt want to go to North America. Over time Eastern Europeans especially Ukrainians and Russians, but also others such as Belarusians even some south slavs such as Serbs and Bulgarians.

A black Vauxhall, model 14-6, turned left onto Charing Cross Road and troddled along midst the AEC Regent II -type double-decker buses and Austin FX3 taxicabs. Even though an ordinary family car, the Vauxhall turned heads here in Central London, where normally few private vehicles were seen: the City and its adjoining areas had been reserved for pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport. The two people at the back of the car paid no attention to the people staring at them.

The audience applauded loudly, many of whom began flailing their arms about in eagerness. Some of the buggers even began foaming at the mouth-they were so excited! They didn't need to even know the name of the islands to fall into an orgasmic frenzy.
"Alright, alright, calm down people, no need to expose the rabies epidemic to the world stage. Now what was I saying? Oh yeah, Balearic Islands? We got them. In case you people have lived under a rock, the Balearic Islands are the lands of cheap wine, cheap sights, and even cheaper women! The Königliche Mausoleum and Burning April Monument
Early this morning, Volksmonarch Gazert von Anhalt-Aplotzkii I cut the ribbon for the official opening of the The Königliche Mausoleum and Burning April Monument. The Burning April Monument is a statue honoring those who died in the nuclear bombings of Leipzig and Berlin, with the monument itself existing in two twin parts, one residing in Leipzig and one residing in Berlin. The The Königliche Mausoleum as well has finished construction, being opened in Neu Aschersleben to honor those who have served in the German armed forces, as well as now becoming the final resting place for the deceased of the royal family.

A Royal Wedding
The morning breaks nicely with a soft dew on the grass in late December, the sun kissing the walls of the winter castle at Aschersleben, casting shadows over the artillery blasts from the war, now repaired but with the shapes kept in as a memory. As brunch approaches, the Crown Princess, General Lana von Anhalt Aplotzkii sits down in her military uniform, a small mahogany box in hand. Her girlfriend, Wilhelmina von Richtofen enters the room with a smile. "What's with the uniform?" She says, giving her a kiss. "There's going to be a wedding soon and I wanted to get dressed properly" said the Crown Princess. "Oh? Some relative? Who is getting married?" Wilhelmina asked, sitting across from Lana. Lana stood up and then got on one knee in front of Wilhelmina, opening the box to show a ring. "You?" She asked, blushing. Almost before she finished the short sentence, she was tackled in a hug by Wilhelmina, attacking her with kisses. "Oh course! Yes!"
The wedding has been scheduled to be in December of 1947, with invitations sent to a series of nations.
A Kingdom for a Horse
As the rise of the Latin American state of Imperial san carnio has begun, information about the state has reached the ears of the Volksmonarch, including the fact that the San Carnese government and society function along similar lines to the German one. With this information, it has been decided that San Carnio has the full support of the German government, provided certain terms are excepted, such as the condition that San Carnio will not engage in military action against the Federal Union of America.
A letter is sent to San Carnio, asking if support would be welcomed.

To The Stars!
June 15th, 1947, the KLWA base, Cologne Germany
A routine safety check is preformed on the Bisnmarck I, ensuring all systems, radios, and life support is online and working, all of which are passed. The rocket is fueled and loaded onto the launchpad. The elevators and scaffolds are secured in place and the three astronauts, Agatha Schwarzmann, Jonas Franz, and Igotsu Schönfeld. The astronauts suit up and get in the elevator, heading into the command module. The launch sequence begins as the crowd, which includes Kronprinzessin Lana von Aplotzkii-Anhalt and her fiancé, settles down for this momentous occasion. The launch goes fine as the rocket goes off into the sky, yet problems arise when the second stage fails to detach and the rocket begins to loose velocity. When the rocket begins to slow, the second stage manages to detach and the rocket speeds up again, with the rest of the launch going smoothly. While the launch was a success, more fuel was needed than expected, resulting in a slightly off position within orbit, but a stable orbit is reached. It is assumed when the American section of the station attaches, it will straighten the station so as to be in a correct position.
On the evening news the broadcast has a special segment, with the transmission not coming from Berlin, Leipzig, Neu Aschersleben, Nuremburg, or any other German city, but rather the station itself. The first voice to come on is Igotsu Schönfeld in a Guinean accent. "Good evening from the Bismarck I. This is a truly historic day for the nation of Germany and her people. We have suffered long and endured great tragedy, but we have risen from the ashes, and now we have risen so high as to fully touch the stars. Our American friends are expected to join us shortly, furthering peace in the years, decades, and hopefully centuries to come. This is a great day for not just the German people, but for the world. God save the people. God save the kingdom."

Lana von Anhalt-Aplotzkii sits at her desk in her room. A servant walks into her room. "Telegram for you from your father." She takes the letter and reads it. The long and short of it said that Gazert wished her to go on a diplomatic mission to Brazil. After all, he was going into old age soon, and it would be better for a much longer lasting relationship to be built. She began to write a letter, writing the following.

I do wish you a warmest greeting from the Deutsche Volksmonarchie von Corsicinot, and from me personally. It is a great desire of the crown that a relationship between the Brazilian and German crown. It is a great wish for monarchs across the world, as well as the German crown, to establish relations of solidarity. To begin, an audience is requested with you, and will be at first conducted between me and you. I hope you accept the offer, as much will come of a partnership.

A Political Change 3 Years in the Making!
After the a transition period of 3 months between the Presidential government the new Consular one. Consul Victor Harewood, son of the famed former Princess Mary, gave his opening address to the Upper house starting off with "My brothers... and sisters *gestures toward some sitting female Senators* it has been sometime in getting our bureaucracy in order but my people we have come together once again come together for our hobby of statecraft." Clearly beaming he continued with the days assembly, rightfully so perhaps given that his Imperial Union party gained a majority with the failing liberal party in the 45' election. Though this is the governments first meeting it should be noted that they are still in process of moving to the new capital in the former Kimberly mining region and movement will not be completed until 1950.

After 3 years of waiting since the referendum in 44' the city of Kimberly has been renamed to Malorine. The name comes after the first woman to come to Kimberly after the first mining boom of 1890 Malorie Fisk, her husband Gregor established the Andorum corporation which would go on to run all of our nations nuclear power centres today. After her death in 1905 at the age of 65 her family would be part of the few people that remained in the city until this day, her grandson Gregor Fisk III had this to say when prodded for answers, "I'm proud of my heritage and I'm proud of this community, not 15 years ago this place was a dustbowl with neer [not] a caravan in site, now thanks to government funding and the work of everyone, even them zulus, we are prospering and even the central legislature has relocated here." A proud man indeed, and we here at the Bulletin give the city our best wishes as we will be relocating our HQ their this coming fall.
A Bright Light at the End of an Economic Tunnel
After 2 years of negotiation and dramatic arguing the East African Trading Company merged with the All African Air Company, giving their stock a 200 Rand boost to 750.49 Rand. In doing this the EATC has gained significant trading powers in East Africa and with the negotiating skills of economist Dalmos Staldham, they have attained sole right to flights in the cities of Mombasa and Mogadishu. When asked for comment Dalmos said "It's been a long time coming but our progress is significant and stable, soon we shall be bringing in money for our stockholders as promised probably around October." In striking this deal the EATC has gained the right to, as previously stated, solely fly planes in and out of these cities and the surrounding 200 miles, and decide who can create terminals in the aeroports. Of the two it is said that the one in Mogadishu is 10% larger due to the abundant flat land in the city. Further on this it is also being reported that a deal has been reached with Tanga for similar results in the city of Dodoma where an even better deal of exclusive flying routes has been struck for 10 years and all viable land for aeroport construction has been acquired at 40 Rand an acre.
Government Bonds of Extraordinary Quantity!
A few short weeks ago emissaries from Pretoria was sent out to several nations on the continental shelf offering loans and builders for nations whom require and request it, after a few weeks of negotiations Sudenland, Nambia, and Somalia all declined the deal stating that they had arrangements that they needed to deal with before committing to such an economic relationship. On the flip of that Madagascar and the struggling Carsonist economy of the nation of Uganda agreed to the deal, according to a government finance minister "4,000,000,000 R will be loaned toward developing in Mahajanga on the coast of Madagascar and similarly in Kampala an airport and a national highway system will be constructed with a similar government backed loan." This follows the speech of the new Consul Victor who said he would begin his tenure with what he is calling a "Good neighborhood" policy in which outreach programs are established and we seek to help aid our African community into developing toward better, stronger, and more sustainable nation states, furthermore stating that the south African Government will guarantee the independence and self governance of it's neighbors under said policy.

In cooperation with the Omnitool company of East London the university of Pretoria has unveiled 2 of their projects to the public; the first project which until now was being dubbed "project pollen" is what is being described as the worlds first jet aeroplane. The plane which has been officially named the "Golden Eagle Mk I" features a standard pressurized cabin and 2 Jets set either side on the wings in place of where propellers on a normal plane would go, in terms of buyers the EATC has been the first bidder on the plane buying up 200 of the aircraft which are to be ready by the end of next year, and with their domination of the aviation industry in the nation only one other company has stepped forward, the Turing corporation (named after English mathematician Alex Turing). The second project they revealed was perhaps the least exciting of the Pretoria exhibition, the project is named "Amaterasu I" was a set of concept designs for a rocket ship they are in the middle of producing, with the current government restructure Amaterasu will fall under the aegis of the Central Aeronautics and Space Administration, CASA for short. Excitement is brewing with this news as when production of the EATC's first aeroports is complete the travel time for an average ticket will be 4 hours with only 2 stops for refueling.

Peace and Victory - December 7th, 1946
- There there were mass celebrations across the Empire today, as it was revealed that Foreign Minister Yun Chi-young met with his Soviet counterpart in Tukkholma (Stockholm) and negotiated and signed a peace ending the Sino-Soviet War. The treaty restores the long lost regions of Outer Mongolia and Xinjiang to the Empire of the Great Qing as the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and the Outer Mongolian Autonomous Region, the Mongolian people are united at long last.
Now that the 18-month conflict has ended, His Imperial Majesty has allowed the current Supreme Military Council to retire awarding each member the Order of the Resplendent Banner for their years of service to the nation and for being in overall command during the war. They were succeeded by 7 commanders who served in the war. The 3rd Supreme Military Council was Chaired by Chen Yi a general who served as the Chief Military Strategist during the war and oversaw the day-to-day strategic operations of the whole army. For this immeasurable contribution to the war effort Chen Yi has been promoted from General to Grand Marshal of the Empire, the 2nd person to ever hold the rank after Zhang Xueliang.
He has also been awarded several military medals and honors, chief among them the Highest Imperial Award: The Imperial Order of the Double Dragon, the Highest Military Award: The Order of National Glory, and the Highest Military Honor: The Honor Saber of the Awakened Lion. Most uniquely of all, the Grand Marshal Received a fishing pole from American President McCarthy, the two men had met and formed a friendship during a Qing-American Officer exchange, those present at the ceremony report that Marshal Chen was most attached to the fishing pole of all the awards and gifts given to him.
The six other commanders that will also be joining the Supreme Military Council were also justly rewarded for their service. Liu Bocheng who has been dubbed "The One-eyed Dragon" by his men due to the loss of his right eye during fierce fighting in Mongolia, was appointed Vice-chairman of the Council and awarded the Order of Blue Sky and White Sun the nation's Second highest honor as well the Order of Loyalty and Valour. The remaining Council members: Ye Jianying, Luo Ronghuan, Chen Geng, Tan Zheng, and Su Yu have all been awarded the Order of the Sacred Tripod among other decorations.
Chinese Commanders were not the only ones to receive medals. Korean Prince Yi U as Commander of Korean forces was awarded the Order of the Golden Lion. In addition, six countries sent assistance in the fight against Carsonist Aggression, their commanders were awarded on behalf of their units. Brazilian General-de-divisăo (Major General) El Duque de Salvador Felipe Luis Armando IV was awarded the Order of the Sacred Baoding on behalf of his division in recognition of their performance in combat. Finnish Majuri (Major) Lauro Hännland was awarded the Medal of the Rapacious Condor for the service of his Finnish pilots.
French Air Force Colonel Jean-Baptiste Séverin was similarly awarded the Order of Cosmic Diagram for the outstanding performance of his squadrons. German Generalleutnant (Lieutenant general) Nathalie Gutermann despite being a military officer was awarded a civilian award the Order of the Brilliant Star for the support role her nation played. Hungarian Vezérőrnagy (Major General) Ferenc Dezső was awarded the Order of Loyalty and Valour for the performance of his “Svent László” Division. Last but not least South Afrikan Brigadier General Erik Claymore was awarded the Medal of Army Brilliance for the meritorious achievements of his South Afrikan irregulars.
Aftermath - December 8th, 1946
- The Celebrations were concluded with a massive victory parade that included all the foreign contingents marching past the rostrum in Tiananmen square.
After the jubliation and festivities, the nation was forced to face the realities of the Sino-Soviet conflict, hundreds of thousands of soldiers had died in the Mongolian wasteland. In memory of their sacrifice for the nation a Monument to the National Heroes has been constructed in the southern part of Tiananmen Square. His Imperial Majesty joined by Imperial Chancellor Chen Gongbo have laid wreaths at the foot of the 38 meter (125 ft) obelisk and bowed in respect.
Also as result of the titanic struggle between the Dragon and the Bear; the formation of the tiny nation of Kashimir. A shrimp surrounded by whales. In response to repeated requests by Finnish diplomats, Foreign Minister Yun Chi-young formally announced that The Empire of the Great Qing would guarantee the Independence of Kashmir.
