Forest Photo Contest 2020

.

.

.

2020 has undoubtedly been a year like no other. The general consensus is that it’s been crazy if not outright terrible. But with the holidays and the new year just around the corner, 2020 is finally coming to an end. Before we move on to a hopefully smoother 2021, though, there’s one last thing that needs to be done: the sixth annual Forest Photo Contest!

Here's what you need to know:

🌲 We have four categories once again this year:

  • LinkTrees (this category is permanent each year)

  • LinkLight & Dark (photos that display astounding lights and/or shades)

  • LinkSeasons (photos that represent one of the seasons or a certain time of year)

  • Link2020 (any photo that resonates with or represents this crazy year)

🌲 You may submit up to 12 photos total. You may choose how to divide those among the different categories, but please do not submit more than 12.

🌲 Please post your photos in the appropriate thread on our forums, located Linkhere. You may also submit photos via a link to an image hosting site in a telegram to Mount Seymour.

🌲 The photos must be taken by you, but can be taken at any time (not just during the contest).

🌲 Anyone in Forest or in a region which has an embassy with Forest may submit photographs for the Contest.

🌲 Timing:

  • Submissions will be open from December 18 at 00:00 GMT (7:00pm Dec 18 EST) to January 23rd at 23:59 GMT.

  • Voting will begin on January 23rd at 23:59 GMT and end January 30th at 23:59 GMT.

🌲 Voting will take place on a Google Form. Needless to say, please no puppeteering!

🌲 The photographers with the top three photographs in each category will have their photos acknowledged on our RMB, on our World Factbook Entry, and potentially in our next foreign update. A banner will also be created with a collage of the top photos to applaud the winners, and participants in the competition will be encouraged to add it as their nation's custom banner. Forest's flag will also be changed to the 1st place photos in each category for a week after the Contest.

Now it's time to head out and start photographing! Good luck to everyone!

Any questions about the Contest should be directed to Mount Seymour.

Ahh, this again, haha! Yeah, it's 2021 for me here right now and the future is... the same, for now.

That's a wrap for us Burmese in Burma too! Celebrations are still on-going, of course. ♥ I missed Singapore's New Year 2021 by one hour because when I came back, I played Rainbow Six Siege until 7 PM and slept the hell out.

Does anyone know who Mike Pence is? I've seen some videos of protesters calling for his death.

I visited Singapore once; its bird zoo has Lesser Flamingos and a bald eagle!

So I won 2nd and 3rd respectively for two of the brackets! Thank you very much for hosting this lovely thing once again, and I know I had a lot of fun shooting them!

I also posted in this factbook, as a shameless plug of my accomplishments and things I have done:

Okay, okay… maybe to call it a CV might be a little cringeworthy, or an overstatement, because after all, this is not exactly job-worthy? But I thought to myself… maybe I should create a little something to show off and to keep track of what I have done on this site. After all, it became a hobby, a very big one that is hard to maintain.

So without ado, a list of things that I have done on this site! Not just achievements and victories, mind you. If it is noteworthy, it goes here.

5 Years and Counting

Here's to a sixth year! ♥

You will most very likely have to rely on my word of mouth for this one, since it’s very hard to keep track of the threads. They kept getting pruned over and over again, leaving nothing but word-of-mouth and small references along the way.

  • Started Mk. 14 of Your Leader’s Opinion Thread.

  • Creator of AN’s most unique / distinguishing feature.

  • Started the Cliché Thread - Both Mk. II and Mk. III, both of which are unfortunately lost.

  • Development of Valentine Z as a world, starting from as early as 2016.

  • Written a dispatch on F7 etiquette.

Flag Bracket - Mark II

Hosted by the wonderful The Cosmic Mainframe, along with the support from my friends across F7 and NationStates, managed to win a nice second place and an eighth place! ^^

Trading Cards

Participated rather heavily in the mechanic which went from an one-off April Fools event, to a permanent feature with 2 seasons so far. Technically 3, if counting Season Zero / the first inception.

WA’s General Secretary Elections 2020

That one April Fools joke that went on for a few days. What did you get when you win? Well… nothing, to be honest. You will get a shiny badge, sure, but there is no actual power. It was pretty fun, all things considered.

  • Round 1: 7th, 3.0% of the total votes.

  • Round 2: 7th, 4.2% of the total votes.

  • Round 3: 5th, 9.9% of the total votes.

  • General Election: 4th, 333 votes.

  • When the Running Mate was established, joined up with NS Sports / Atlantian Oceania, effectively a F7 + NS Sports alliance.

We're fine here despite 40+ inches of snow in two weeks and snow 11 days out of that time. Luckily, we have a natural gas powered emergency generator.

My old father will get his first covid-19 vaccination in a couple of days. Hope he takes it well and it will help. Would bee great to finally visit him without concerns.

I liked Amigo, the speaking / singing parrot. He was really good. But I think he is gone.

Also this Lori loft where you can feed the birds is great.

Looks like I won't be able to get vaccinated until June or July.
