Jesus. Turkey and Greece are itching for a fight with one another and now Azerbaijan and Armenia are going at it. The whole world is going bloody mad this year.
Dunno if Greece and Turkey will go at it (It'd need Turkey to get Russia's sign-off on a proxy war with the EU, which though hilarious to see their response probably wouldn't happen) but Armenia versus Azerbaijan is interesting tbh. Looks like the Armenians kept their MIC healthy and their military well-supplied, because they already forced Azerbaijan's offensive to stall IIRC.
And of course bigger regional actors like Russia, Turkey and Iran will get involved because no country can ever just mind its own business these days.
Depends on which way the autocratic winds blow. Since Russia doesn't have to worry about the same kinds of things the US does (Public approval, for instance) it might be a lot more inclined to butt in. That said, it's supporting Armenia as well so it might see it as being more in it's interest to get the others to back off, they supposedly weren't happy about the Turks donating their UCAVs for the Azerbaijani fire mission. Worst comes to worst, China or the US sells them some AT missiles and MANPADs and calls it a day.
As for minding their own business, you already know my views on how idealistic it is to ask a nation to do that.
E: Looks like the Armenians are taking a beating since Turkey started giving drone support. They might start leveling Azarbaj with IRBMs if the Ruskies don't come out to stop it lmao.
What is the political climate like in your nation? In Yiddland there is some tension between the traditionalist Jews and Progressive Jews and in more rural places tension between the Jewish majority and the gentile (usually folk-christian.) Minority. But overall, Yiddland is a very, Progressive, liberal place. Also the many political parties can never really agree on anything.
If y'all want to look at a nice and in-depth article, Warzone will have your back on basically any modern conflict. They're like if Journalists had any idea of what they were talking about, basically.
Kalaron, per the last revision in RP, is somewhat isolationist with a driving antipathy towards three things:
1) Countries that try to stop war
2) Countries that "politik" the truth
3) Alliences that attempt to control their members
Kalaronians generally agree on both the necessity of government healthcare (owing to their frigid surroundings, help isn't looked down upon necessarily, and health is still considered very important) and a large Military Industrial Complex for their diplomatic and -following the collapse of the ITF- Military needs.
Also owing to their location, Kalaron is a biggly fan of nuclear power. Not a NIMBY to be seen for miles and that's what makes it paradise :D
Nurem is very liberal and progressive, very left-wing in social and economic issues. Politics is predominantly dominated by people from the western part of the nation, however which is a lot more secular and European in outlook and appearance. The further and more distant you get from the capital and western regions, the more detached people feel from government. They also get a bit annoyed because with how politics and culture is dominated by westerners, they feel unrepresented, or that everybody believes all Norsk are like that. They also sometimes feel looked down upon by the westerners.
Where is Kalaron anyway? Im picturing like,,, Antarctica for some reason.
Geographically, on the map we were Australia. In our lore it's like Australia but cold and Boreal.
