Azucur wrote:A golden spherical barrier appeared around the fortress as the enemy neared, blocking anything from entering the fortress, the archers fired their magical crossbows into the undead army, each bolt hitting would explode on impact taking out chunks of the army per blast.

The General immediately laid her hands on a crystal ball and said "Voidwatch is under attack by an undead legion, we're requesting immediate reinforcements."

Azucur city
The message was received by the King in Azucur, he ordered his men "Assemble the armies and prepare my airship, we're going to war!" He said, he looked at his Twin sister "Eriel, where did Rimiris go?" He asked her.

"The Mountains, to train. She said she'll return in a week, but that was about a week ago, she should return soon." Eriel responded

"Good, tell her that Voidwatch is under attack, we must stop the advance in the crater, her power is necesarry." Erias said and left the Spire.

Explosive ammunition would have little effect on the horde as most of the energy was being absorbed by the glowing aura that had been cast on the undead by the Nosferatu. On top of that, the ground around them was beginning to blacken, like an infestation it was spreading outwards into every direction.
The effects of this were not immediate but slowly the worlds magical essence would by drained and everything powered by it would begin to crumble.
While the horde of undead was continuing to assault the fortress, the Nosferatu looked around, trying to gain more knowledge about this world. Perhaps this attack was a mere distraction or simply a test for these peoples defenses... the Attack as a whole appeared not dedicated enough for a true invasion.

No matter how much magic they drained from the world, it was meaningless, the world of Iiqaath was a nexus, one of the most potent nexuses in the multiverse, the amount of magic was infinite, unyielding and eternal.
There wasn't much of the world that he could see from the crater, there were a few trails, some travelled more than others, but they led to various places, one lead to the east, one to the west and one to the North, a final one lead south.
Seemingly having been travelled by a massive amount of people, but this was an arid and rocky landscape, nothing could grow near the portal. The Shield held as the Undead tried to break it, this barrier was powered by mages who slowly expended their magic as they waited for reinforcements.

Azucur
Erias boarded the airship and his army of Knight-Paladins mounted up. Once on the bow of the airship, he called out "Selennin, my people. Our world is under attack by an undead force, they will tear through our lands and attack the heart of our city, here in Azucur, or rather they would. Right now, they are attacking Voidwatch; we have dealt with undead before. And this will be no different; the mana well is a nexus of divine energy. So let us use it! As all you know, Magic is the crux of this world, there is no defence against it so that we will use it to the fullest!" he said "Onwards! TO VICTORY!" Erias was no master of tactics or warfare like his father had been, but the Selennin had hope, they were stubborn and loyal, and to many of them, anything that was not a Selennin was an enemy.

"Do you feel it, Rimiris? Do you feel the fluctuations in the world's core?" Nait asked
"Yes, what is it?" Rimiris asked
"They followed you when you left the angels," Nait said, "You're going to help them, aren't you?"
"Of course I am, I must," Rimiris answered as she prepared to leave.
"Indeed, but remember, you are in Azucur now, as am I. You are mighty here, your arm has regenerated, and nothing can stop you, so feed on the power of Iiqaath and show these invaders what you are truly capable of."

Groups of undead had split from the main group and ventured away from the portal into every direction, the attack was however still in full swing and there was no indication of them stopping.
In the rear some even appeared to be constructed a summoning stone from which more forced could be transported into the world. They were heavily guarded as well as shielded, making them close to impervious.

The craters other ends were too steep, and the undead forces could not get up, the Mages did what they could to hold the barrier, but their mana was beginning to fail, nevertheless the soldiers kept firing their crossbows, even if the explosions failed, once the crossbow pierced and undead, the target would blow up, regardless of any outward shields.

It did not take long for King Erias' airship to arrive from the east, aiming it's cannons at the undead legions, beams of divine light swept across the battlefield, the Selennin knew the weakness of the undead, and it was the might of the gods, power that had been drawn from the mana well.

Just then two large draconic visages appeared in the sky, Qussontra and Eosaith. The Guardian of the Void, and the Guardian of Knowledge, both appeared transparent and made of pure light. They watched the battle, Qussontra's duty was to protect interdimensional travellers, but invaders was not his concern.
Eosaith's duty was to protect the inhabitants of Iqaath, although he could not yet act for the other Guardians had not reached a conclusion on what to do. These were two of the ten most powerful beings in the known universe, and so their power had to be kept at bay by the others.

By stacking on top of each other eventually the first undead would reach the edge if the crater and manage to crawl out of it.
The summoning stone had also been completed and immediately after its construction several of its builders were sucked into it - a small sacrifice for its construction.
Then, by the power of the Nosferatu, a red circle surrounded the stone and runes from an ancient language unknown to most began to form. The stone sunk into the ground and in its place a large arm reached for the edge of the circle. It appeared to be made of flesh but still not natural, it's long claws sunk into the ground and slowly an even larger body appeared from the ground.
A demonic world shaker had entered the realm from the depths of Vhakrad and it would not rest until the fortress was leveled.
Crawling on all four it approached the building and let out an eerie roar which would fill most with terror.
It lacked eyes but a strong sense of smell made up for it and its limbs flared up in burning heat which sustained itself with continuously regrowing flesh

Due to the Demon's appearance, Rimiris saw the need to spring into action. Enchanting her own body by boosting her speed, strength and endurance, she leapt from the mountain and with blinding speed she landed onto the portal with enough force to break the archway, destroying the portal itself. Cutting of any new reinforcements as well as blocking their only path of escape. The portal had become nothing but a pile of Rubble with Rimiris standing in the middle of it. "Seems the Selennin are really in trouble..." she said, raising an arm to the heavens she used a spell Mass Destroy Undead she directed a spell across the entire crater, a powerful spell that tears apart any lesser undead creature, even if it wouldn't kill them all it would kill many of them, but she didn't stop yet.

Holy Rain yet another spell to defeat forces of evil, this time in the form of heavy downpour, true to its name; the spell known as holy rain would cause a rain of holy energy to fall, it was a spell only known to elite members of paladin's orders, generally found in human society, but no spell on Iiqaath was unknown to Rimiris, with two out of three spells down she lowered her arm.
Her final spell was cast Bastion of Good, her final spell would conjure a might barrier around her, extending 6 meters in every direction outwards from her, as long as the spell was active, neither the demon nor the undead could reach her with any attack.

She summoned a blade into her hand, a brilliant longsword enwreathed in flames, this blade was known as the blade of evil's bane, and as with everything else since her arrival it was a sword made specifically to kill undead. Rimiris began to search for the leader of the invasion while smiting any undead creature in her path by cutting it down with her holy blade.

The archers on the fortress focused their fire on the demon, as the shield finally broke, at this point, the airship of Erias also focused fire on the demon and the army of Knight-Paladins arrived at the battlefield, lowering their spears from horseback they galloped into the battlefield to skewer anything that would stand in their way.

Most Undead Grunts were no match for dedicated fighters but in groups they could easily overwhelm almost any foe. Riders that had ventured too far from their unit would quickly be dragged from their mount and crushed into the ground, their bodies mutilated by the savage attacks of the Undead.
The Nosferatu was not bothered by the sudden Reinforcements the enemy had received, in fact it appeared he had been waiting for this very moment. He also recognized Rimiris from her Incursion into Vhakrad from earlier - it would be fitting to put this Rebel into her place by making an example of her. The Invaders also hadn't played all their cards yet. While the world shaker was besieging the fortress and slowly bringing down its walls, a new threat had arrived on the battlefield One the enemy would have trouble dealing with, especially since their spells had been cast already.

Accompanied by burning rays of light, a Celestial smashed into the ground like a meteor, devastating the immediate surroundings. A blonde female with flaming yellow eyes looked around, a large sword compared to her stature in hand and a lust to destroy. Her white wings stood in contrast to her aggressive presence, yet the holiness of a Celestial remained. A perfect symbiose between justice and evil.
Raising her blade, she unleashed bolts of light into the approaching Paladins, easily piercing their defenses and likely killing many. She cared not much for the Undead horde that was being decimated by their enemies magic - instead she went straight for the enemy caster, the one that had just now prepared herself so well against Undeads and Demons - A Celestial being neither of them.

The remaining Knights regrouped quickly as the mana cannons of the King's Airship continued to fire at the demon. At the same time, the knight-paladins decided to use the same tactics by going into groups to defeat their foes. The crossbows on the fortress continued to fire their explosive projectiles at the world shaker, even if the explosion didn't work, the bolts would likely still pierce the demon's skin.

Rimiris was unfazed; she had tons more spells to use "I was under the impression that all of your species was good. But if you are anything less than ten times as strong as Ellyn was, you should leave now." Rimiris said, her eyes lit up in brilliant orange, her skin took on a charred appearance and armour began to appear across her body.
A black mask adorned with a large crown, massive shoulder pads, clawed gauntlets and plates of metal over her abdomen.
Every piece was black as coal, and even among the Selennin, it sent shivers down their spines as Rimiris took on this new appearance, just now she had taken on the power of the most eminent being in the universe, a transcendent being of immense power, surpassing the gods themselves as she was no longer just Rimiris, she was a fusion of Rimiris and Nait. "Biut then, I'm going to slay everyone after I destroy that demon." a black sphere appeared in her hand. Rimiris prepared her most powerful spell Black hole.

"You'll find i am more rightous than any of you - or my former kin." The Celestial responded in a calm and inimpressed state. She turned to Rimiris and lifted her sword into her direction.
"I recognize you as the one who aided my sister, as such I shall grant you the mercy of a quick and painless death as well as put in a good word for you when you meet your creator." She taunted her opponent. "That or you decide to lay down your arms and watch as punishment is delivered to those deserving." She added. A ring of light golden fire was following the Celestial on every step, burning its surroundings and creating a wall of heat around her which could melt incoming projectiles of any kind before they would even reach their target. Despite the unholy company the Celestial was keeping, a bright Halo was still hovering above her head and her wings were as white as snow - Signs of true Purity, Rightousness and Holiness.

"Righteousness is in the eye of the Beholder, and as Rimiris creator, I will not need you to do so." Nait's voice resounded "I will also not pay you the same respect once you lay dead." they were both still unfazed.

"Let me make a small adjustment to this rain." he continued, the golden rain turned black, and as it hit the already dead soldiers, they stood up once again, as undead warriors entirely and utterly loyal to their god, Nait. "Now, girl, attack us in whatever way you may want to. I'll show you that we cannot die here." Nait said as his own undead soldiers rose and engaged the undead soldiers of his opponent.

With the portal destroyed, Iiqaath's connection had been severed; it was no longer connected to the rest of the rift, meaning Ellyn's orb did not function, Nosferatu and Joan were trapped in Iiqaath with Nait and Rimiris. Only Nait could restore this connection, but right now, he had no reason to.

Joan smirked "You misinterpret my purpose here." The Celestial said and clenched her fist until small sparks emitted from it. She then raised her arm above her head and unleashed a wave of electric light that swept across the land into every direction. Undead soldiers hit, both allied and opposing, stopped moving and crumbled. The Nosferatu appeared irritated at the Celestials actions but did not intervene - there only seemed to be an uneasy sense of trust between the two.
A short while later all those Undead that had been destroyed, rebuilt their bodies and rose up again, now with a golden layer on their bodies that protected them from the rain.

"A quick word of advice - don't try to use our own tricks against us, you face Death itself now." She said and entered a defensive stance, her steadfast blade pointed at her opponent.

The rain seemed to stop dead once its effects were bypassed "I bore of this." A large shield appeared around the battlefield; the airship was ejected out of the battlefield as the spherical shield formed.

Rimiris unleashed the black hole, everything around them seemed to shake, and the undead were all lifted off their feet, be them opponents or allied.

They were all obliterated as the black hole took hold of them. The demon followed suit as did the rubble of the portal, Voidwatch keep and many of the still-living soldiers.

Soon only Rimiris, Joan and Nosferatu were the only ones standing in the crater. "I control this realm in every sense; here, my word is the law, no exceptions." Nait was speaking. "Your forces have been eliminated, I have spared you and that other thing." he said "If you surrender now I will send you back to your master." Nait and Rimiris separated again

Nait turned his head to look at Nosferatu "That goes for you as well, Reaper." he said, "I will not lay a finger on you, but Rimiris might."

Rimiris was neutral to Nait's decision; she simply stared at Joan "If you attack, I will kill you. If you surrender, I will spare you. If you come back again later, then I will be more willing to fight you on even terms."

This time it was the Nosferatu that interjected. It had remained silent until now and merely focused on the siege but now that its forces had been obliterated, the being turned its attention on the two powerful enemy creatures
"You cannot kill what is already dead!" It said, the words echoing in every direction.
"That counts double for me." Joan added. "I died once before but the Heavens had other plans for me. Killing me again wont change anything in my path, I will continue to follow it and return." She said confidently.

"Fine." Rimiris stated coldly "Then all I need to do is seal you away for all eternity." she said, the black hole above dissipated nothing was left of everything that had been sucked into it. The shield that was all around them grew denser, it was impossible to see through it, a double-bladed sword appeared in her hands, she twirled it a few times "I suppose that means, you won't surrender?"

"It is impossible for me to disobey my master, wether I want to or not but I doubt you would understand." Joan said and gripped her blade firmly. The Nosferatu lingered slightly above ground right next to the Celestial but with the lack of a face it was difficult to determine what it was thinking or planning. Its amulet was dangling from its hood and giving off a slight glow, its power was immesureable but the Nosferatu didn't use it. It would very well be able to break the barrier and possibly even destroy the peculiar connection Rimiris and Nait had. If not it could simply consume their souls and since the barrier had been set up, outside help appeared unlikely.

Even though the Nosferatu had incredible power, he had yet to understand anything about the power of Iiqaath.
No matter what way one would look at it, Nait was a god, an actual deity, omnipotent and unyielding, Rimiris had created the barrier, but Nait reinforced it.
The Noseferatu would not be able to destroy it; even if it were Otar himself that stood here, he would not be able to break it, for Iiqaath is not in his realm, it is Nait's realm.
Nait being the deity he was was also immortal, his soul was as eternal as himself and immune to every power in his universe.

"Alright, void it is." Rimiris said, she spun the blade, she appeared to charge them but before she would have a chance to reach them she was suddenly behind Joan, her blades spinning towards the Celestial, there seemed to be a glowing rune on the ground where Rimiris had initially stood and another one where she teleported to.

Rimiris said, she spun the blade, she appeared to charge them but before she would have a chance to reach them she was suddenly behind Joan, her blades spinning towards the Celestial, there seemed to be a glowing rune on the ground where Rimiris had initially stood and another one where she teleported to.

As divine beings, Celestials could see things before they happend and so Joan was able to evade the attack by leaping up into the air, hovering several metres above ground using her wings.
"So you choose to fight the natural order of things?" She taunted and charged her sword with golden fire that occasionally spew out bright blue flames.
"I have come too far to stop now, to fail at such a critical moment on my path." She shouted and went in for an attack. While she swung her weapon at Rimiris, the blade and with it the flames appeared to be expanding towards their target.

Rimiris raised a hand towards it, and a barrier appeared between her and the flames as she blocked the attack. Again she teleported, she was next to Joan now, a rune yet again materializing, this time it was in the air. She tried to stab Joan through the side with the blade, Rimiris seemed to be as exceptionally skilled with the sword as she was with magic.

Nait hovered high above, just within the barrier, he appeared to be the one holding it in place, all the magic of Iiqaath seemed to converge on him as the barrier that surrounded them only grew more potent as he channelled it himself.

Joan had noticed the runes by now, quickly realizing what their function must be. As Rimiris appeared next to her, she immediately kicked her back and flung her blade at her in a spinning motion. At the same time the Celestial used her free hand to create a golden hail of bolts that continously rained down onto the rune in the air where she expected her opponent to appear next.

While the two were engaged in combat, the Nosferatu slowly made its way towards Nait. It had no problem flying, it could even traverse matter itself if it wanted to.
"Tell me God, what is your purpose in this place?" It asked calmly, the words again echoing throughout. The being made no attempt in attacking Nait nor disrupting the barrier. It did not even care about the battle that was taking place below.

Rimiris did not appear anywhere near the rune, she teleported to the opposite side of Joan, but further away dodging the blade, yet another rune appeared, none of them seemed to have disappeared either, and the bolts seemed to pass straight through them.

Nait's face could hold no expression, but for a moment, it felt like he had smirked. "If you ever find the answer to that question, let me know." he said, "Shouldn't you be helping your friend rather than speaking to me? That Angelic one will find herself in a lot of pain if the battle continues the way it's going now." Nait said, despite clearly being on Rimiris' side, right now, he seemed to have other plans than empowering her.

These two will prove to be good punching bags for her, as Iiqaath offers nothing that can offer her any power. he thought to himself, neither Nosferatu nor Joan could hear his thoughts, but they were clear to Rimiris, due to their bond. As a result, she could also get a sense of Nosferatu and Joans locations as their minds had been one.

The Nosferatus empty hood gazed into ones soul, even without eyes. "We do not consider the Celestial a friend, merely an asset." It said loud enough for Joan to hear. It did not appear concerned at all for her reaction to its words.
Cold air was surrounding the being and it reeked of death, in many minds an apparition of the underworld.
"You strike me as not too different when it comes to your avatar..." It said after a short while. "The Celestial is still holding back a considerable amount of power, power which might prove overwhelming for the girl if this continues." the Nosferatu added and turned to watch the battle unfold.

Joan was growing frustrated at her opponents, in her mind, cowardice. She preferred a direct fight without constantly running or teleporting away. The sword she threw returned on it own, like having a mind of its own. Once back in her hand, Joan thrust the blade into the ground with great force to the point where cracks began to form. A few seconds later her weapon lit up in a light blue flame which then started to extend outwards in every direction. The fire would not only burn anything it touched, but also trap them as the flames wrapped around its target, inflicting great pain and paralyzing almost anything.

Nait's power was vast, so vast in fact that he could not even feel the power of the Nosferatu. To Nait, it felt like a bacterium had approached him. "Perhaps, but Rimiris has yet to show her real strength, if she only realised what she is capable of, this fight would have already been over." Nait said

Rimiris distanced herself from Joan she stretched out both hands Prismatic Sphere a multicoloured sphere appeared around her, it seemed to be different from Nait's shield.

"Ah, Prismatic Sphere. It creates a shield around the caster, nothing can penetrate or crush it, but in turn. She cannot attack for as long as she stays within it." Nait commented, "But, her attack begun long before she locked herself in that Orb."

The runes from before seemed to glow brightly; dark energy shot out from the runes, like grasping hands they took hold of Joan, attempting to tear her apart with great force, each hand trying to draw her into their runes.

"The hands are tangible illusions, so to speak, but the danger they present is genuine, if she can free herself, then good for her, if she can't, then her time in the universe is over." Nait said "Dragged kicking and screaming into the void, the emptiness where not even I can retrieve a soul from."

The Nosferatu began to laugh. "The void you say? That is where we come from!" it said and continued to watch in personal amusement.

Joan wondered why the arms hadn't been shattered by the flames that surrounded her but it wouldn't make a difference to her. For a moment the Celestial closed her eyes and stopped resisting. Then within a fraction of a second a dozen blades smashed through the ground and into the air, purifying and destroying the energy that had grabbed her. Powers of the Void and Darkness would be no match for her divine spirit and strength.
Using her own sword she then directed the floating blades that had been summoned from below outwards and began spinning them around herself, smashing into the runes and hopefully destroying them too.
"No more tricks!" She shouted and pointed the blades at Rimiris.
"Fight me properly or get out of my way - this is a waste of time!" Joan was used to the brutal ferocity of the creatures from vhakrad, not this asymmetric fighting style. If it continued she would have to tap into sources of power that she hoped not having to rely on, powers that had been granted to her not too long ago.

Nait sighed "Cleaely, what you call the void and what I call the void are two very different things. I suppose it would make more sense If I use the name given to it by the other Eternals. The howling." he said, "It existed alongside my species before life and death was invented before time began." Nait explained

The blade passed through the runes like before, no harm came to them, and the arms regenerated almost instantly.
"What I call the void, you should refer to as the Howling to avoid the confusion. It is a place of infinite nothing, no life, death, dark or light, no time. Living or dead, god or mortal, any who enter the Howling is lost forever." Nait said "Those arms cannot be purified for they are not tainted, they can not be slain for they are not alive." he kept talking as the arms continued to grasp at Joan. "They are pieces of the Howling, and carry the same properties."

"They do not sound all too different to me..." The Nosferatu replied.
"In the end, I myself am nothing more than a piece of the void, brought to life by my master." It added

Tha battle on the surface has turned into a tight struggle that didnt resemble a fight anymore. Joan was unable to use her powers to the fullest due to the construction of the howling. She let out a deep sigh and fell to her knees with her eyes closed. The Celestial hadn't given up completely however. He skin was going pale and her eyes suddenly went blank until she collapsed completely.
The Nosferatu watched curiously but still had no intention of aiding its ally.

Then out of Joans body a blue spirit arose resembling the Celestial closely but not entirely. Her Halo was shattered and her wings were reduced to their bare bones, being a shell of their former grace.
The arms would still cling to the lifeless body on the ground while Joan's spirit moved on.

"I did not want to do this but you forced my hand..." her spirit said, sounding now very similar to the Nosferaru.
Barely anything could touch her now as she had abandoned her physical form.
