An old man in his 70s suddenly appears at the climate conference.
silently he grabs the seat reserved for Pariff with his shaky hands, puts his stick at rest on one side of the chair , wipes his glasses with a piece of cotton cloth , coughs a bit and drinks two sips of water...
with a deep voice he approches the mic

Ladies and Gentlemen "I am here to speak behalf of Pariffian PM , He is admitted in the PCC Hospital and is under treatment"

"I am am Professor teaching environment at Pariff's Central university , I have served Pariffian Govt as a delegate in Environment Ministry , currently I am the consultant in chief for the Environment Ministry"

*coughs again* *drinks a bit of water, keeps the glass with his shaky hands*

adjusting the mic , he resumed:

"So I've noted down some points which could help our planet Valsora to be less vulnerable to CO2 and other green house gases"

Firstly it will take equal effort from all nations to reduce greenhouse gases.
I repeat Ladies and Gentlemen , our focus here is to reduce not to abolish , as a bit of these gases is needed for the survival of the planet itself,we'll come to that later,

*taking a pause*
Ge removed his glasses and wiped with a piece of cotton cloth..he forgot what he was speaking about..suddenly he remembered...looks at the mic and resumes..

"yes , so I was telling an equal effort must be required from all of us , but are we really comfortable in the "equal effort" concept ?
My friends with already developed economy will gently say yes but what about my friends with a less developed economy or a developing economy won't it be unjust to them if they showed a same effort to reduce emissions ? how would they develop right ? we kind of have our suggestion here..

*taking a pause*

he said :
How many of us "especially the coastal nations" in the house are aware about cold ironing ?
let me explain..
ships are the main instrument to transport goods from one nation to the other in Valsora.
when a ship is docked in the port it simply does not turns off it engines to facilitate the on going operations etc.
Now a study shows a ship standing idle at port emits CO2 which is equivalent to 3000 cars !
shocked right ?
Here is where Cold Ironing comes in place ,
we do a little adjustment in our ports and we can easily stop those unwanted emissions,
ports can supply electricity to the ships standing idle so the ship can turn off its engine this way the unwanted emissions can be stopped,
well I wont go in details , Many of you I see are having hi-tech devices in your hand just search the term "Cold Ironing for ships" and Valsora's search engines will explain more than this old man.

*taking a pause* *laughing a bit*

Now , some of your execlency will say but for producing electricity we will need to emit those hamfull gases , we will need coal right ?
yes we would need it but we can totally reduce it...
we should really look forward for other ways to generate electricity like hydra , wind farms ,solar panels etc

*takes a pause*
forgetting what he had on mind ... wiping his glasses ... still not remembering what he wanted to say further...

he then ends his speech , So yes electrification is the answer.

Also we need to establish another university in the east as students there are traveling here to get higher education.

*suddenly a man wearing black suit , black avaitors, having a black briefcase in his hand whispers in the old man's ears*

"Sir we are not at the university , we are at the International Climate conference , these are not your students , these are delegates of their nations as we are for pariff, please take your sit and drink some water Sir"

The old man : *Takes off his glasses with his shaking hands, wipes them*
and concludes "Thank you all , your excellency"

Mere minutes later, 5 members of Columbia's most elite fighting force clear the room of the building, their eyes invisible beneath their steel crowns as they sweep their pistols back and forth. Captain Sava rushes over to Gunter, putting her hand on his shoulder. "Sir, are you okay?"

Gunter opens his eyes just a little and says

The people only hold that expectation because you give them that expectation. Is that the role of government? To aid and provide all? Or is it to aid and provide order.

If I sell you blocks of ice when you’re surrounded by it, is it your governments responsibility to intervene and stop your stupidity? Would you expect an animal in a zoo that’s lived there its whole life that’s released into the Wild to survive?

Some things require no intervention. Some things bond. If you give people the means they will expect it every single time after. No matter how inconsequential.

Dr. AC responds. "I mean, he's right. Let him stay. He's got some good ideas, even IF he's old and somewhat forgetful."

It is the role of the government to provide order, security, and the means to live one's life. That doesn't mean that the government should step in to change a toddler's diapers. What it does mean is that when a situation grows too large for the individual to handle, the government must step in. Repairing a modern city from the ravages of nature is too large for the individual to handle. They lack the resources, the ability, and the manpower to do so.

Sava pulls a medkit out from a hidden compartment in her armor and begins to get to work on the man. In the meantime, the other soldiers secure the area and call for an actual medic.

DOS in NationStates stands for Delete-on-Sight. The NationStates Moderators declare someone DOS when they have egregiously and/or repeatedly broken rules to the point where the Mods delete any nation owned by the player upon discovery by Moderation.

But why repair it at all? Nature selected them. Those remaining will find another way to thrive. It is not the governments responsibility to clean up after a planet that’s chosen to alter its course. Flood planes are an absolutely avoidable natural disaster. We know enough about geophysics to know you should build so far back from a rivers natural flood plane. Yet citizens do it. Because they know that someone will come and bail them out. If citizens knew they risked losing EVERYTHING in a flood with no recoupment. They would not build so close to the river.

The Ragean VTOL craft arrives, and soon the Ragean Vanguard poured out. Clad in black armor with orange accents. They began to assist in securing the area. While a Ragean medic arrives and asks Captain Sava the current situation.
