The colovian kingdom

I see that this region is still pretty active! I've been watching it for a few weeks but have been too occupied with my other account. I was wondering if I could join? I found the map and I saw that Chorrol wasn't taken. As I've chosen the Colovians, I see that Chorrol is the closest city to the Colovian Highlands. Are there any special requirements to getting it?

I'm pretty sure I'm the only active one left, anymore. I welcome a new face to the party, though! As for gaining a spot, pretty sure you have to talk to the Founder or the Map maker, both of which I think are inactive.

No specific requirements needed. Rp is encouraged, though most of the older members have moved on in life from NS, or just chill here and let other new nations join in to pick up where they left off. I've personally been busy with life, but if things kicked up i would definitely be more interactive. The region is set up with rules and it's pretty self explanatory. We have a regional government, inactive military, an rp story, basically all we could take fron TES rolled into one NS region.

Castle Chorrol, former seat of power for the Count of Chorrol

His Majesty Cyrinis Aerilius walked through the halls of Castle Chorrol, his new seat of power after wrenching control of the City from Count Algor Valga after a tense two month siege. His Kingdom had ruled the woodlands of the Colovian Highlands for years from his wooden fortress of Nova Colovium. Battling against trained Chorrolians was difficult and it cost him men and resources, but now, as he stood within the white stone halls of his former enemy's palace, he smiled. His troops, dressed in red and yellow battle armor pushed forward the blue and white-dressed guard that once defended this palace, All of them chained with tears and bruises upon their bodies, set to be hung from the walls of Castle Chorrol. A new day dawned for Chorrol and for the Colovian Kingdom. King Aerilius looked up just in time to see his men cut down the large banner depicting the white and blue tree of Chorrol and to see the red diamond of Colovia taking it's place. The next thing he heard were screaming to his left. He turned immediately to see three Chorrol guardsmen waving their swords and running towards the King, hoping to break the spirits of the Colovians in one fell swoop of their swords. The King drew his blade, the only Colovian warrior nearby. As one guard swung his sword, Cyrinus ducked and drove his blade deep into the guard's belly. As the next came to him, he drew his dagger as he slid his sword out of the first guard. He slung the dagger out of his hand and into the second's eye, his body falling limp. The Third halted as he debated whether or not he wanted to challenge the King. Before he made up his mind, more Colovian soldiers rushed in and surrounded the last guard, forcing him to drop his weapon. The last embers of resistance for the Chorrolians was done.

Till we get a new regional map made up, we'll continue to use the old school version. I'll need everyone to send me their map claims via TG so i can update it. As I'll be removing anyone currently that's on there but not in the region.

That's what I've been doing. As long as the city doesn't belong to a player, it's fair game.

The colovian kingdom

The Royal Palace

Cyrinis Aerilius sat upon the throne formerly belonging to the Count, unamused by the number of his new citizens that wanted his attention, either to explain how his troops pillaged their farm or hoping that a new King would bring about justice for their neighbor's slights against them. It baffled him how nonchalantly many of them approached the King, as if he were a simple Count. Many of his own soldiers taught many of them a valuable lesson on how to address a King. His father would have been proud by his new position as ruler of Chorrol. Artaeus Aerilius' only accomplishment was building Nova Colovium, made entirely out of wood but rivaled that of the largest stone fortress in all of Cyrodiil. For three decades prior, his father's Kingdom ruled out of Nova Colovium, reviving many of the ancient methods and styles of Colovian Estates-era architecture and minimalist designs. When Cyrinis ascended to the Oak Throne, he placed into motion orders and plans that led to this exact moment, where he now owned a Kingdom of his own, one made of stone and mortar and brick. A day ago, he made the hour trip back to Nova Colovium, which had laid abandoned since he called all of his forces to siege Chorrol. He walked it's halls and rooms one last time and sat upon the Oak Throne before setting it ablaze. His home was now the Royal Palace in the City of Chorrol. But what seemed a modest victory for his generals, was merely a stepping stone for what was to come. For all of his suffering and struggling and working, he would not waste away the rest of his life sitting satisfied in a single city, no. He would continue to move, he'd keep fighting and keep marching. He would secure the entirety of the Great Forest before setting his sights on Skingrad, the closest city to him asides from the near impregnable Imperial City.

"That'll be all, get them out of here." He said to his Guardsmen, who responded by rushing out the needy peasants. Serving 36 of his loyal citizens was good enough for one day.

Royal Palace Planning Room

King Aerilius walked into the briefing room to see his top generals, Augustyn Maleid, Cenek Caerfon, Mikaela Ostaffius, Ales Tyrl. Augustyn and Cenek served under his father during his Reign while Mikaela and Ales were the Kingdom's top rangers at the time.

"Up to no good, I see?" Said Cyrinis as he walked down the stairs into the main room.

"Nice of you to join us, Your Majesty." Said Mikaela, smiling warmly at her King.

"We're distributing our troops outside of Chorrol. The city is not big enough to house our entire Army. We could have stationed them at Nova Colovium, but-"

"Nova Colovium was a closed chapter in our history, Augustyn. We will adapt and find our own way." Explained the King.

"of course, Your Majesty, of course." Said Augustyn, standing corrected.

"We've placed troops at Weynon Priory and Odiil Farm. Neither the Priests nor the farmers were happy about it but under the King's Law, they have no choice but to quarter our men. We also have eighty men at Fort Wooden Hand. It's a ruin, but they are repairing it as best they can." Mikaela stated. King Aerilius looked at the map, wooden diamonds standing upon small basis marked where Colovian troops were. He was surprised by how there was only one diamond on top of Chorrol and three on top of Sancre Tor.

"What's this?" He said, pointing at Sancre Tor.

"Seeing as there isn't enough room here to garrison our men, we've left a force of 5,000 here in Chorrol and stationed the remaining 19,000 at Sancre Tor. Ever since the Champion of Cyrodiil broke the curse on the ruins, we've been restoring it as best we can for a long time. It's now serviceable as a Fortress for our men. Until we're ready to mobilize, we've decided to station them there."

The King nodded. "very good. I want you to send a letter, Mikaela. To Skingrad, Kvatch, and Bruma. Tell them King Aerilius requests their presence at the Royal Palace in Chorrol to discuss joining the Colovian Kingdom. I do not want bledshed or battle, but do tell them that I am willing and prepared for it, if need be." Mikaela nodded and left the room.

"Your Majesty, another matter. I'm sure you are aware of the Nibeneans? Normally I'd spit at the pansy little fops, but as it turns out, they have a knack for taking what they believe is theirs. Their King, or Emperor, Arratius Medora has taken Bravil, Rimmen, Corinth, and many other villages under their power. Aside from us, they seem to be the only power capable enough to challenge us." said Augustyn as he pointed to Leyawiin.

"Capable? Your mad, Augustyn. Their military far exceeds our own. I had family at Bravil when they took it. They aren't the Nibenese we know. They seem to have adopted many Imperial and Colovian traits into their Military. One Colovian is worth five Nibenese, I know this. But they are still capable and strong." Said Cenek.

"My mind is not concerned about the Nibeneans. They mean little to me. But....send a letter to them anyway. Tell them that we mean goodwill for them and wish for them to be allies of Colovia. As a gesture of goodwill. I don't need Nibenean boots knocking on my door at night because I didn't respect their traditions. Bah!" Said the King as he marched out of the room.

The nibenean empire

Leyawiin

The days of the Kingdom of Leyawiin seemed a distant memory to Emperor Arratius Medora now. The Niben was his, so was half of Elsweyr. His Empire was growing into something that has since exceeded his own expectations. Conquest after conquest, victory after victory, the Nibenean Army has yet to suffer a defeat, and that alone gave Arratius a monumental sense of pride. His dreams wouldn't stop, though. He needed more, he wanted his own Empire to rival that of the ancient Septim Empire and that one day he would take the Imperial City, but for now, he would remain vigilant and he would continue to expand his Nibenean Empire.

His next conquest would be that of Gideon. The Emperor personally sent messengers to Gideon, asking for their allegiance and that they would be guarenteed wealth and a place at his own table. The messengers never returned and neither did the Argonians' response. Under the command of legendary General Saciand, the former Governor-General of Corinth and the Heroine of Alabaster, the 2nd Attack Army would mobilize and prepare to march on Gideon. For now, the invasion remained on paper, but as General Saciand recently arrived to Leyawiin from Corinth and since the 2nd Army was already mobilizing, it was only a matter of time.

Great redoran

Baan Malur, known as Blacklight, Capital of the Redoran Ash-Marches

The daily hubbub of the great Redoran capital went along as usual; however, there was an anomaly. A brisk wind hung over the air, and it seemed like a fall gust symbolizing a coming winter, though it was only late spring. The Redoran, a hardy and stoic folk, thought little of it, and the nord immigrants thought even less, enjoying the brisk temperature.

However, it would come to pass that the Gail had a more nefarious origin. Along the coast near the city, multiple watchtowers lit bright with the signal flames, intended only to warn of invasion. Several dozen wicked and cruel looking ships, made to look as if wrought from ice and stone, appeared in the distance. The council held an emergency meeting, their Retainers rushing to the council halls and standing guard, forming near 1400 men in total. They were not sure of the origin; the Redoran had no particular feud outside of the sphere of Dunmer house politics, and perhaps an ancient resentment toward the nords. Many accusations were thrown; the Roscreans, the Skaal, perhaps the Atmoran undead who had driven the nords to Tamriel. God forbid, maybe even the Sload?

Their curiosity would soon be sated, and their caution validated. Despite the coastal defense, the Ships had rushed past many trebuchet and catapult launches, and neared the coast. Hundreds of smaller rowboats, bristling with warriors numbering in the thousands, came to shore, to meet the small Redoran vanguard the Council had hastily arranged. The battle was fierce and brutal, but many honorable Redoran kin and Retainers lay slain, and the enemy host began to encircle Baan Malur. It became clear that these were the same invaders that had come in the 2nd Era; the Kamal Akaviri had returned.

Council Halls
The Council was viciously divided. The one side, a faction led by Llethyn Ramoran, insisted they call for reinforcement from the other houses, and perhaps Skyrim. The opposition, led by Fathas Venim, refused to even consider foreign aid, stating that the Redoran needed no help to fight their wars, and called Llethyn a sniveling coward and defeatist. Llethyn stated that Venim's pride would be all their downfall, and that the Akaviri were vicious beyond reproach. The Archmagister, Garys Redoran, was in Skar in the city of Ald-Ruhn, and couldn't be reached to make a clear decision. The only thing they compromised was a combined Redoran effort to lift the siege, and sent riders to call all Redoran bannermen to defend the Capital.

A fire burns glowing in a small cabin in Raven's Rock, Solstheim. Beautiful blonde Nordic Medea stirs a pot of stew inside. Warmth is suddenly banished as the door opens and a chilling nights northern wind blows in some of the snow. A figure clad in fur armor from head to toe and a Troll walk in. Maerwyn removes his hooded fur helmet and walks up to Medea and kisses her on the cheek before entering one of the three small rooms in the cabin to change out of his gear.

"Are you hungry Trollz?" Medea warmly asks the troll as it sits by the kettle looking up eagerly at the food. Medea laughs and hands Trollz the ladle. He clumsily tries to handle it like a human accidentally breaking the handle. Throwing away the handle Trollz tries to pick up the hot cauldron but burns his hands and gives out a troll shriek and runs out the door to cool his hands in the snow whimpering.

Medea casts telekinesis and lifts the ladle up with her mind and causes the broken ladle to soon out stew in wooden bowls for three. Trollz comes in and hungrily devours his food and Maerwyn emerges from his room and takes his meal seated close to his beloved.

"The snow should be melting soon, it is now Morning Star. Perhaps we can travel out of this place soon." Medea looks at Maerwyn intensely.

"Ha, maybe for the rest of Tamriel, but up here I think it might snow every day." Maerwyn avoids her gaze and goes back to eating. "This is fantastic stew my love."

"Oh but then maybe after another month the sea will be safe to cross." Medea sighs and leans on Maerwyn.

"Maybe, but I mean, we have our own house, freedom from the rest of the world, we're earning a good living me and Trollz are, it's great hunting and trapping and tracking. Maybe we should stay here." Maerwyn sighs also and looks down at Medea who sits back up in alarm.

"Stay here?! In this boring frozen wasteland? It's been months since we made the Wolfsbane Potion and the others departed. Why would we stay here? It's so boring" Medea snaps at Maerwyn.

"We have a house and I got a good job. I was thinking... well nevermind." Maerwyn shrinks down from Medea's scowl on her beautiful face.

"You were thinking I can just sit around here like a bored maid cooped up in this stuffy log cabin while you and Trollz run around and have all the fun?" Medea sneers.

"N-no it's not that. It's...well...I was thinking maybe this is a good place to settle down and have a family." Maerwyn looks Medea in the eye and her expression shifts and she blushes.

"You want to have kids with me?" Medea asks Maerwyn softly.

"Yes, I want you to be the mother of my children." Maerwyn warmly picks up Medea and embraces her and leans in for a kiss.

"Then you better marry me first!" Medea suddenly pushes Maerwyn away and storms off to her room.

"Oh Medea come on, we're practically married all ready! We have the house, we have the income, we have a nice place to live, I'm not a werewolf anymore, and we even have a pet troll who is handy as can be." Maerwyn knocks on her door and pleads but to no avail as she screams back that it's not the same as a real wedding. Maerwyn gives up and walks back out into the main room and sits by the fire with Trollz.

"P-p-pet?" Trollz stammers in the common speech looking at Maerwyn somewhat hurt. "I am p-p-pet?"

"Oh Trollz I didn't mean it like that." Maerwyn speaks in the Beast Tongue ability native to his Bosmer race. "It's just....women."

"W-w-women bad to Maerwyn?" Trollz asks his common speech has gotten much better in the months as tutored by Medea.

"Heh, no I guess not bad to me. Just I thought we'd live happily ever after, and it has become a challenge of its own I guess." Maerwyn chuckles and picks up his stew that has gone cold and eats it.

"Trollz not happy, Trollz still cursed." Trollz says clearly and contently and goes back to looking at the dying embers of the fire, his instinctual fear of fire as a troll has him anxious but he tries to suppress it having gotten somewhat used to seeing fire more.

"Well, the wolfsbane potion didn't work fully on you Trollz because Hircine's hide is grafted into you, but the potion did help you somewhat, now you don't spontaneously transform during the day, but can transform at will." Maerwyn takes another spoonful somewhat absentmindedly.

"Trollz curse still hurt." Trollz whimpers and lays down on the floor turning away from the fire and letting it warm his back which is still perpetually raw and painful from where Hircine had flayed him and grafted the cursed hide upon him.

"I'm sorry my friend.... Maybe you and Medea are right... Maybe we ought to leave Solstheim and go to Skyrim, just temporarily anyways, to see if we can cure you....And to marry Medea more properly." Maerwyn muses to himself as Trollz falls asleep by the fire. Maerwyn finishes the rest of his meal and stares at the dying embers before retiring to the guest room, still locked out by Medea.

The nibenean empire

Leyawiin

General Epolva Saciand had gathered her army, all 20,000 men of the 2nd Attack Army, normally stationed at Border Watch. With Rimmen under Nibenean control, Border Watch wasn't as crucial as it used to be. No Khajiit armies marching through the border to take Leyawiin anymore. The Army had been divided into one Command Regiment and three Attack Regiments, with Command under direct control by General Saciand herself. The Second Attack Regiment would be led by General Carvmio Cnilida, the Third by Captain Avithiano Odutina, and the Fourth by Captain Agapbio Raniranos. They received a speech from their Emperor and moved out through the Blackwood. With twenty-thousand men in marching formation, a normally three day trip took two weeks. During that time, she had seen a number of spies creeping through the shadows of the marshy Blackwood. Saciand kept her army in close formation, so her flankers wouldn't be picked off without them ever knowing.

At Gideon's Gate

A few miles past the border of Black Marsh, Saciand's Command Regiment worked hard to establish a Forward Camp in the marshy, soaked ground. Almost every soldier's garbs of green, yellow and white were now tinted darkly with mud covering their boots and shin guards. Opposed to Alabaster and Corinth, General Epolva Saciand would remain behind while the other three Regiments would attack. Her Command Regiment's five thousand men would remain in reserve in case Gideon's defenses were too much. Since marching a mile from the Black Marsh border, they'd lost 200 men, most of which were lost to poisoned arrows from Argonian forces tasked with harassing the incoming Nibeneans.

The attack on Gideon itself was led by the vanguard, Captain Agapbio Raniranos's Fourth Attack Regiment, behind was Odutina's Third, followed by Cnilida's Second. The battle plan was that the Fourth would take the brunt of the Argonian defenses while the Third would flank to the left, the Second would flank to the right, and they would surround the city and force the enemy Argonians into a pincer movement and eliminate Gideon's deployable forces.

The plan was blown from the start.

The Fourth Regiment was pummeled with poison arrows from the walls as five thousand Gideonite warriors didn't wait for the Nibeneans to get into position. Armed with double blades and light equipment, the pikes and shield walls of the Imperial heavy infantry were useless as the Argonians ripped through the Fourth's frontal columns. With blades dipped with an unknown poison, death from a single cut was guaranteed. By the time the Second and Third got into their positions and initiated the pincer movement, the Fourth had taken too many casualties, with Captain Raniranos counted as one of them. In a sweeping maneuver, the Second and Third Regiments surrounded the Argonians and slaughtered the entire five thousand, but even while the main Argonian forces were defeated by the Nibeneans, they continued to take poisoned arrow storms that took a significant toll on the men. General Cnilida was forced to call the retreat, despite General Saciand's orders to continue the attack. Three days would progress before a second attack would occur. During the first assault, the Nibeneans would suffer 3,500 casualties, more than half of the Fourth's regiment along with their commander. The remaining 1,500 troops would be mixed into General Cnilida's Regiment.

The second assault was far more successful as half of the Command Regiment, along with General Saciand, led the assault. Without Gideon's ground forces, the city relied on the arrow storms the walls could produce, which were easily swept aside by the shield walls that protected the bulk of the soldiers. When they entered the city, General Saciand ordered the no quarter. The city had been taken an hour later. After the attack and Gideon captured, General Saciand placed the city under martial law.

The nibenean empire

Gideon

Two days after the costly assault on Gideon, the Nibenean Empire had consolidated it's hold on the Argonian city and province. By far, the Argonians challenged the Nibeneans every step of the way to conquest, but once the city had been captured, the remaining fighters knew it was for naught. Whatever combat capable troops had survived the attack and capture of the city had retreated out of the province, most likely to Helstrom, the closest Argonian city. General Saciand had no doubt they would return with assistance from Helstrom, but it was because of that reason that she put her men to work on restoring and improving defenses. Out of the 20,000 men sent to capture Gideon, 4,200 were killed before the capture and 24 more afterwards to resisting warriors. But there was a bright side, after the army of Gideon had been crushed, the citizenry seemed quite amenable to Nibenean rule and had cooperated when the Imperial enforcers went through the city collecting taxes. For now, peace would follow General Saciand, as her new posting and mission, was to protect and hold Gideon against any future attackers from Black Marsh.

The colovian kingdom wrote:Am I allowed to invade other cities without approval of the Founder?

You can attack cities, but in the rules only a certain amount is protected, incase some new nations show up and we need to make room on the map for them.

Eventually when we get a more graphic map, we will have tiles and it's be much easier. We'll need someone who knows how to edit and can make map of Tamriel on their computer.

Trollz

Also government positions will be open again shortly. For those who are new, High Councilor positions are executive positions selected by the Emperor. Elder Council seats are elected and selected from one nornal citizen nation in each Province of Tamriel on the regional map, voted in seat by the other nations in that province to represent them in regional government, outside rp. This means the Elder Council may not be reestablished until more active nations join rp, but literally less bureaucracy for the High Council to have to answer to and deal with.
