Simple trial and error huh... It's better than just wishing so I can't fault him. Maybe I should ask Sam about this stuff too. He did make Divine release so maybe he has some pointers too. With that on her mind she smiles up to Tobbi, she was pretty glad that got to do this with someone who knows more about aura than her. "Trial and error, we just keep taking whacks at it and see what happens. How very Tobbi of you~" With a cheeky wink as she stands back up from her makeshift rock bed, Sammy stretches and briefly massages her legs before smiling, he actually does great work with healing. "Alright. I guess we should start with the theory of having a goal before going into it. I should be good to try for it now right?"

"Wait." It comes out as a whisper in his ear, her arms clasped tightly around him. "I don't know what to do... I've... I've never done this before."

"You don't have to." The grip around him tightens and her fingertips dig into his shoulders as he slowly moves. He kisses her neck as a tremor passes through her body. "We'll keep trying new things, and see what happens."

Tobbi turns the second brightest shade of red Samantha has ever seen as he glares daggers at her before looking away. "You got a thing for paraphrasing or something?" In their teasing dynamic, Samantha is clearly winning. "Whatever, I'm over it," He says with an authoritative finality, clearly not over it. "Best thing right now is to use Instinct Release as much as you can under low stress, so your body can get used to it. I can refill you-" The embarrased scowl that swiftly appears on his face is evidence towards him realizing his poor choice in words thanks to his mind being tugged in dirty directions. "I can refuel you with aura when you start running low, and keep the damage under control."

"Maybe I do~" Samantha gazed up into the second reddest shade of red she's seen on his face, even as hers was covered with a light red hue of her own as she recalls the context of what she was referencing. Thank god Aura made things easy to clean up. Still she did her best to keep up her smug visage as she heard how final he sounded about being over it "Sure you are~"

Hearing his bad phrasing her face lit up like a christmas tree while keeping the smile on her face, though it did start to shrink with embarrassment as her face got redder. That didn't go down as he corrected himself but she did get a small giggle out of hearing him fumble. "You fumble so much when you're out of your element. It's cute."

She leaves that in the air to tease him some more as she starts to get herself calmed down, last thing she wanted was for her objective during Instinct release to be something obscene while she recounts events of the night prior... Oh dear. Crush those thought down, really not the time to think using releases during something like that. "Good to know I can get a refill when I'm low... On aura." She wasn't even being subtle about it at this point.

Closing her eyes, starting to clear her mind, she kept Tobbi in her mind as she started to transition into her release. I want to spar with him for real. With that thought in mind, as her hair and eyes shift into their new gunmetal grey colour, her vacant gaze lifts to Tobbi as her bod starts to give off a different vibe to the harmless atmosphere she had before. It was prepared but it was still standing still, waiting for him to make the first move.

There was no recovery from this at this point. "Just get in the Release already," Tobbi sighs loudly theatrically, though as she does so his stiff frown struggles against the silly grin that's trying to replace it. No, he won't give in that easy to teasing, especially against Samantha. Even though he professes she's got nothing that can stick against him, Tobbi is so thoroughly distracted that he doesn't notice that Samantha's aura is burning different. After muttering a little more to himself he reaches out to lightly shove Samantha again, completely unprepared for the counterattack that's coming.

Thanks to him not noticing, this made things all the better for her body. Noticing Tobbi had no sense of urgency or aware of the changes, she flowed with speed yet still seeming like she was moving normally as she flowed around his shove and gathering aura in her palm. Thrusting the palm out into his stomach she released the built up aura flowing around her into a concussive blast to throw him even further off balance. Her open palm turned up, her index finger curling back as the earth beneath his feet all rushed back to make him fall forward into an aura charged uppercut aimed to be planted right on his chin.

There wasn't much going through Tobbi's head as the combo transpired. When the earth dropped out from under him and Samantha's fist cracks into his jaw, just one thing.

Eh?

Caught flatfooted and by surprise, Tobbi wasn't ready for an impact like that to his head. His sense of balance is gone, though despite that he only stumbles back on shaky legs and fall flat on his butt instead of going flying or being knocked out outright. Even when taken by surprise, he's tougher than most. He isn't really hurt, but with his brain shaken like that he isn't getting up for a bit.

So I’ve been taking the time to go back and read y’all’s posts that I’ve been missing and this is great! I’m really enjoying it.

Haha thanks, these two accidentally fell into a relationship, though they've had some fun chemistry for some time now in the two some weeks they've known each other.

Her body was still after her uppercut, the blow itself was quite strong she wasn't training nonstop for those 2 weeks for nothing, in terms of power she was an S1 in just her resting state. Her body stayed in the pose as those gun metal grey eyes were fixated on the dumbfounded and absent look on his face after she sent his brain rattling away in his skull like a screen saver. It gathered that he wasn't in a position to continue, so it concluded that the goal it was given has succeeded. Relaxing into a neutral stance the body walks over to Tobbi and with a completely blank face it reaches out and ruffled his hair, some lingering part of her consciousness feeling sorry for catching him offguard like that.

Her Release lets go of its own volition after its objective was achieved, the aura it was burning settled as a gentle breeze as it stopped trying to seem to tap deeper into her body. Sammy's eyes focussed with a single blink before looking down at a zoned out Tobbi on her rear. She didn't feel terribly sluggish with only her right arm aching around the knuckles and forearm. "Uh... Did I win?"

It’s been an entertaining way to fill my time. XD

Tobbi barely reacts to Samantha's base nature and her hand running through his hair. In fact he is pretty well in shock as he realizes what had happened, more importantly how it happened. Though Samantha coming out of the Release derails him. He isn't standing though he can still tell they aren't going to support his weight on their own. Did Samantha purposely aim for rattling his brain? It sure seemed like it, that whole chain built up to it. She knows that out of the Golden Age mages, Sam included, he's the most durable and hardest to injure. Yet that can't protect his brain and balance from an attack like that. Is Instinct Release able to plan for such a thing? And her specific use of Earth was a practical application of the marble training they've been doing. Highly minimalistic yet specific use of aura to produce the best result. It honestly felt like Scotti did it. So when Samantha questions why he's on the ground, it was a no brainer.

"Yeah, yeah you did. Clocked me good," Tobbi admits as he runs aura through his legs to help him stand- Only to choke off a cry as pain floods his nervous system. He loses vision for a moment as he doubles forward, barely having the sense of mind to cut off the flow of aura.

Happy to hear it. These two's bit has been going on for awhile but it probably is getting close to moving onto Samantha's brother and anyone visiting him early, since he's hospitalized after a fight.

Samantha was honestly surprised that the goal she set out before going in actually worked, though as she looked at him he looked like he was pretty out of it. "Ah, that would explain why my hand feels like a punched a brick wall."She manages to get out before she braces for him as her lover doubles forward as he nearly blacks out from the pain of the aftermath of her chain attack in her released state. Looking pretty panicked as she sees him in alot of pain and letting his aura run amok. Lacking knowledge of healing or how to use Null nature she didn't want to do something dumb by trying to stop him and hurting him more. "H-Hey! Tobbi, what's wrong?!"

\\A freakish miracle//

In the days leading up to King Bach's surprise visit to Lands End to denounce the Templar's inclusion in the Treaty of Castelia, the Templar order had spilt the blood of hundreds in their crusade. Drenching the ground as they cut swaths of new territory away from the natural inhabitants... On the day before the Wabachan King and those who travel with him came to Zocom, hours before the break of dawn. A miracle came to another village of the Beastkin, this time not at the hands of an outlander from the sea... But from a most unlikely source.

--

Orssheim Village. A village on the edge of beastkin territory while it borders the Elven territories... It was a copted village where the Beastkin and Elves have a stable community. A group of Templars had escaped Wabachan and Royal forces as they were pursued through Elven lands during one of their raids. Leading the group of 100 proud Fable blooded Templars was a Inquisitor Alexander Brave. A devout follower of Lord Salem, strong in body and mind who carries a cursed blade that was handed to him personally by the fallen god, a 'holy' artifact that serves him in his conquests, as he hides from the joint military search for them they had now set their forces against this village. If they were to face the Wabachan and Royal forces, they would do it on a field of blood raught with the failure to stop them.

"All noncombatants flee into the mountains! We'll hold the enemy for as long as possible!!" Barked the Wolk-kin Co-chief of the village, a bulky middle age man with black hair and fur named Remus. Charging against the Templar invaders as lightning flickers and crackles along his body as lightning clad fists landed true and sent arcs straight through templar armour to knock enemies back. Charging behind him, keeping close was the Elven Co-chief named Calista, a woman with a slender form with bow in hand. With each draw of her bow the Wolf-kins carelessly discharged lightning was syphoned into each notched shot that was fired into the horde of Templars raiding the village...

While the joint village had the numbers, they were helpless against the sheer power the Templar soldiers had... As hundreds stayed in the village, as magics clashed and weapons discharged and crashed against one another. Alexander was seeing to necessary steps...

The geography around Orssheim village was interesting, bordering the forests and mountains they have a unique mix of monsters. One in particular can be docile if handled correctly. A unique monster that is native to the area, a nest of semi-sentient ants the size of house cats known as Vigilance Ants. They have an almost tribal culture that the Elves have been cultivating ever since they were discovered after the village was founded. Normally insect monsters don't have this kind of mentality, the only thing close were special bee monsters that lived in Faery territory. These ants did have a loose understanding of Zocom's language and would trade with the village in return for lessons from the Elves. The Elves wanted to see if a new race was on the rise, another unique tribe that they could count on as allies...

Because of the unique relationship with the village, and seeing them in such a dire state, the tribal queen of the hive tried to hide the fleeing woman, children and elderly who could not fight. Hide them in her hatchery chamber for the storm to pass over them... Little did she or her tribe know that Alexander already had their scent. With his cursed blade he slaughtered his way into the hatchery chamber... Each injury he endured was healed by the gluttonous blade in his possession as he slashed through each tribal ant warrior that stood in his way.

As he stood before the chamber of despairing civilians and the distraught Queen who had never seen such ruthless slaughter before. He shook his blade clean of guts and shattered chitin with a smile on his scarred face. Seeing such exquisite looks of fear on these savages faces was wonderful. He didn't even waste his breath on these mongrels, lifting his sword up he just smiled as a flash of light engulfed the chamber before gore splattered and covered the cavern walls, the only thing that was still mostly intact was the Ant Queen. Alexander gave it little consideration as he left to return to his conquest.

Though in the Queen's dying grip was a small larva, scarred from the Inquisitors attack but it was one of the only things to survive the attack, with no strength left in her arms she lowered it into the pool of trauma beneath her. In her dying breath she only had one wish, to reward the Templar's slaughter with terror...

Below in the pool of wasted lifeforce, innumerable futures cut short and broken dreams that would never come true, the blank slate with no expectations became a template. The larva squirmed and soaked in the lifeforce, fleshy mandibles quivering as it started to draw in the mixed blood of hundreds, soon a whirlpool started to form around the larva as it started to glow with red crackles of energy sparking off and cracking the walls of the chamber around it. A vengeful wish of peoples who had grown to hate a single god was being granted.

-----

Alexander stood at the village outskirts with his sword over his shoulder, looking out at the dwindling number of mongrels that stood against them before the village Chiefs stood against him. Their faces twisted with sickened grimaces and horrified glares as the news of what the Templar did was made clear to them, he happily told them of his ease in slaughtering them. Despair was setting in amongst those close by, the will to fight starting to drain before a sudden ear splitting shriek filled the valley, and a crimson light filled the sky from behind Alexander. It briefly pierced the sky, drawing in clouds around it into a cyclone. The Templar did not move to even look to the light until he felt a deep shiver run down his back, his body telling him to turn around.

All eyes turned to the pillar of light and the silhouette of a large lankey figure stood within it as it dissipated. It was hugely insectoid in its features, broad plated shoulders with large lanky arms come down at its sides with a second pair of much smaller arms close to its chest. A set of wings kept it perfectly in the air with assistance from wind magic. Its body was made of dark grey chitin plating, it's compound eyes were of a deep scarlet red in contrast to the ants usual ocean blue. A seemingly constant red aura roared off of it like an open flame was flowing from its body.

"What in Salem's great wisdom... I thought I killed all you bugs along with that Queen of yours-" In a snap, not even considered to be a moment, the ant. Comparing the sizes, the Ant stood at a clear 6ft tall as it was hunched over so it was eye level with the Inquisitor, a wave of uncharacteristic fear washed over him as its mandibles managed to chatter out "Are you the strongest?"

The question snapped him out of this as bravado quickly took over. T-This bug is quite fast. But it is still a bug. I am one of Salem's Inquisitors, the holder of the Gluttonous Blade Zeraph. I'm not even fighting seriously... I'll crush this bug. Mana started to ripple through his frame as he started to straighten his back, looking down on the freakish Ant creature as his muscle mass and definition increased subtably. "Of course bug."

The freak bug's compound eyes focussed on the man as he grew taller, feeling the males energy start to rise higher as it started to assess it. Memories and knowledge of the order both naturally taken from the lifeforce that fueled its ascension and unnaturally planted within filled its head in the milliseconds it took for its assessment to be complete. Its body was forged in a freak evolution fueled by the spilt blood of hundreds or Beastkin, Elves and of its own kin. It's existence is the very overdue declaration that Zocom will no longer tolerate Salem's pillaging and perversion of its land and people. In moments a mass of darkness appeared beneath the Inquisitors feet before a large set of jaws appeared to snap shut around the human, devouring most of the torso leaving severed arms and most of Alexander's head falling to the ground. "Disappointing." It flatly said as he stepped forward, stamping down and crushing the Templar's head under his clawed foot. Its eyes looked to the Inquisitors blade before it lifted it up, with one of the shadowy tendrils of its magic... It was a cursed item, unfit for staying on the soil of this once pure land. To that end, the Ant picked it up, aimed it west towards the ocean, and threw it with unfathomable might. Casting it into the ocean on the other side of the nation to its current location, to be lost to mortal hands.

This foulness that fills the pit of my stomach...

Soon its gaze returned to the Templar's before it and those within the village. These corrupted creatures... Beings made by the one who granted mothers wish. A rush of raw mana chokes every available space in the valley before it all pulled back into the Ant's body, the chitin in its limbs and torso shifted as its muscle mass increased, its form more streamlines now as it focussed on agility, it suddenly moved with freakish speed as jagged claws speedily ripped flesh and tore through even the Templar orders magitech power armour. Their god forsakes them as pieces on a board...

The bodies of the dead littered the landscape as the Ant stood tall at the village gates, the last of the Templars were sent fleeing back to their stronghold city while the Ant stayed standing beside the chiefs of the village as its murderous Aura calms down. These people were good to mother, the little ones were their larva. I am glad they live.

Remus looked up at the huge hant with a rather skeptical look, but Calista looked up at it as she understood what this creature was. "You... Are a product of freak evolution... Aren't you? Do you have a name?" The elf asked as the distant sight of Wabachan and Royal forces start to leave the vast forest after they captured some Templars running from what they described as a monster.

The Ant nodded as he settled into a squat, looking to the elf. It found itself naturally calmed by the presence of the elf. "I was but a larva, too young to be given an identity. But I believe I am... A miracle. It is what mothers voice called me after she passed into the red light."

Remus stood with wide eyes that a literal child was warped in such a way to become a weapon that sent those goddess forsaken monsters running. He didn't like it... But not much could be done now. "No name huh... Wanna name him Calista?"

"Leave the burden on my shoulders huh, lazy wolf... But fine... How about Zarion?" The elf asked as soldiers started to secure the area. The Wabachan's really not trusting the giant Ant creature but the village elders start to clear stuff up.

The Ant was left feeling like its purpose was not yet complete... Like there was more to its destiny yet as it thought about the name it was given... Light started to crack over the horizon as morning dawned. "Zarion... I like that."

The Ant's name is literally just derived from the main character of the movie Antz if anyone remembers that

It may fade away the more natural the form becomes to Samantha, or it may grow more serious, they won't know anytime soon. The pain has mostly faded by now, and he's able to stand up slowly on shaky legs, with some help from Samantha. "I'm alright, it'll fade. Nothing permanent. Helping him to his feet and supporting him, Samantha was still pretty worried about him despite learning that she manages to scramble his aura flow with that punch. It was quite something to hear, that in her release state she beat him by scrambling the major threat against her and his primary means of protecting himself. Now that she knew she could do it, she started to wonder how she could keep that kind of thing going and if it worked on people without aura...

For now training looked to be on hold. She smiled softly down at him as she hobbled him back towards the tower for some rest. "Well it looks like I get to be the one playing nurse this time round. But now we know abit more about what I've managed to cook up. Though I'm sorry I kinda turned your brain to soup with that punch."

"Heh, I'm just rattled is all. It's actually for the best." Even if the Release's touch worked only on Aura, he has far more faith in the Release itself. The Caster mastery she showed during it spells clearly that the focus training from playing marbles is working. Instinctively targeting his only consistent weak point was fantastic. The more she knows about her opponent the more effective the form will become. And this was all just what they discovered now. Who knows how far Samantha will be able to push Instinct Release. A grin forms as he looks sidelong at her. "I'm pretty excited to see how far you can push this."

Samantha looked pretty happy with both how impressed and excited he was about her release and the fact that he wasn't badly hurt. She was surprised that she could do something like that, she started to wonder what else the Release can do. She wanted to train more with this form... But for now it's best to rest. They had a trip to Wabacha to go through after this, and she had to get ready. "So am I, it's going to be rewarding to get this to its full potential. Come on, lets get back."

OOC: I think that will be a nice place to leave it, them heading back with alot done in a single morning

OOC: Oh dang, has Tobbi influenced her enough to make the decision to go see Duncan? That's pretty big. Next thing would be Duncan waking up after his dream fight with his future self.

Oh so should I just write him waking up from the dream then. Or go off from the post you made on that ages ago

It would be a continuation of that one.

"You've already started."

Duncan's eyes snap open, startling a nurse as he sits up in his bed confused to find himself back in his hospital room. The clock reads 8:21, almost an hour and a half after Wuddy left for Zocom to face off against the Templar organization, and long after Heimrich revealed himself to him.

Duncan looks down, noticing that his hands are trembling. Unsure how so much time has passed, or that the dream had ended, he squeezes his fingers into his palms to shake the feeling of unease. There was no sign of Heimrich, and the sword was still there. Perhaps it was all just a dream.

A little yellow spark dances across his fingers.

Shifting in his hospital bed, settling to sit up after the small spark of yellow lightning went completely unnoticed by him, Duncan was left to stew on the events of his dream and the fact he was unsure if any of it was real or fake. A part of him wanted to believe that it was real as he looked down at the barely visible blade lodged in his chest. A lingering part of that dream, besides what his future self left with him before he woke up, stuck in the forefront of his mind. Uniting the pools of aura and mana... Me, Felix and Samantha always kept the separate while we were training... I can't test if its a real thing or I just dreamed it up. I wonder if it's something that's possible... Maybe I should ask Felix to try it when he comes to visit. He should still be around here. He thinks to himself as he looks back up at the room, seeing the nurse he spooked giving him sideways glances as she went about her work. Duncan was unawares that the Wabachan King had left for Zocom over an hour before he woke up to bring some trouble to the Order who had lost 8 years of his life to. Not that he knew it yet, but he was already out of a job.

While he was distracted with recounting the events of his dream, the nurse left as Felix poked his head into the room to see that Duncan was already up, but seeming to be preoccupied with something. "Morning Duncan, something wrong?"

Hearing Felix's voice, he looked up from the blade hilt in his chest to look at Felix. The question lingered in his mind for a moment longer as his lips began to part... Though he just smiles and shakes his head "Ah nothing, I was just wrapping my head around a dream I was having last night. Wanna hear it?" It was only the 1st day into the 15 long days of his recovery. He still held hope that what he experienced was real... But for now it was better to try and spin such as dreams so at least he wouldn't be disappointed it turned out to be just that. Dreams and nothing more.

Felix had been burdened with the decision he made last night and the Wabachan King's decision to leave for Zocom without him. He was pretty annoyed that he was blown off but ultimately he had to accept it. He was also pretty confused that he sent Tobbi to go see Samantha instead of him, but maybe he'll get to ask that soon. Maybe listening to Duncan's dream would take his mind off of things. He stood at the foot of his older brothers bed as he smiles, lifting his aura hand to rest on the railing at the foot of the bed "Go for it."

With a simple smile as he shifts so his legs were crossed in the bed, Duncan retold the events of his dream to Felix with vivid detailing. The sword that woke him from his uneasy sleep, Master Wabani asking him to come to his manner after his time healing was done and then Heimrich appearing to start the training session with his future self and the strange yet brief interactions the two of them shared between him handing himself an asswhooping. The entire exchange hit far too close to home for him as it was basically a nice example of what happened in the 8 years Vengeance was having his fun in Duncan's body. Lots of resistance with little to no effect. Though he omitted the entire conversation of Heimrich mentioning Vengeance being released once those 15 days is up but he does mention that 15 days is linked to when the blade will return to Heimrich.

Hearing Duncan's tale right to the end when he just woke up moments before he entered the room, Felix was actually enjoying the retelling of his dream. It fit well into his own childish fantasies of how he imagined the "true Duncan" was supposed to be like in terms of power. Though that part about the unite pools made him curious, focussing in on himself he did try to see if such a thing could be done before a sharp pain wrang through his torso. Which he tried to make out as though it was just heartburn as he thought to himself Aaaah it did not like that... It was a neat thought though.. "You make that future you sound super gruff and dark."

"I don't know about gruff... But he was definitely dark. Seemed like he went through something traumatic in the 5 years that separated him and me. Only a handful of things could do that off the top of my head, all of it involving the death of one of you. Either you, Samantha, Sam..." He says before Felix just smirks and adds "Scotti?"

His older brothers face reddened as he slightly scowled over at him, but he didn't lash out childishly like he had yesterday... His brief encounter with himself from the simulated future. The knowledge and the lesson imparted upon him... It made a few clicks here and there in his head. The scowl softly faded as he just nodded his head, seeming more resolute than he was yesterday as a shaken puddle of unease and pointless worrying. "Yeah, Scotti too. But I don't plan on ending up like him." He says with a small smile gracing his lips.

Felix was surprised to see a look of budding strength in his eyes instead of the forced bravado he put up yesterday after he first woke up. It kind of put his heart at ease somewhat to see his older brother seeming to recover so quickly, thought he was skeptical of wy Heimrich was doing such a thing through his dreams. Though he wasn't going to argue about it. "Alright... Two questions I have is. How did you know about the last part of what Heimrich said if you were already punched away by your future self?-"

Duncan furrowed his eyebrow as he just smirked, not thinking about it as he just speaks "Well I-" His smug look disappeared all too quickly as he realised he had no idea how he knew what Heimrich said after his future self got pissed that he wasn't taking their fight seriously enough and decked him through an entire cities block worth of buildings. "... I have no idea actually. Uh... Next question."

"Okay... What do you think your future self meant when he said you were already starting to wake up? Cause I don't think he meant it so literally." Felix was easily interested in this part, his old brothers future self seemed so badass despite the lingering possibility his death was fueling that sour seriousness he carried in his stride. If some sort of power did exist that could break Salem down and demoralise the fallen god like he was nothing, ad Duncan was going to get it, then how the heck was he going to keep unlocking it?

Getting to think about this with Felix, even if it was just a dream it was still fun to see his little brother so interested in this kind of thing. He knew his brother was something of a battle Junky despite that good boy act he likes to front, it's why he adapted so well to the gravity training in the mirror realm. Sure he complained at forest that him and Samantha were monsters but Felix's natural talent with Aura trumped the both of them in terms of how fast he learned and got used to using it, like it was almost second nature to him. Still, thinking on what the true context could be to this 'waking up' his future self was talking about and what Heimrich was trying to allude to in his dream, at this stage he only knew that it could only be a power that was monumental in its scope and monstrous in its application. "I'm not sure... But I'd like to think I've taken my first step towards it. I'll know more over the next 14 days leading up to my full recovery. Hopefully."

"Well yeah, hopefully." The two brothers just smile as Felix stands back up "I'm going to scrounge up some breakfast. Want me to bring you something?" Duncan, stomach grumbling purely out of hunger without care that it was hospital food, just nods "Yeah just get me whatever you're having. I'm not fussy... As long as there's meat in it." Felix just nodded as he left the room, off to go scrounge up breakfast for the pair of them.
