Hey, there are Kurds, Ba'athists, and Islamists (lite and extreme in Turkey and ISIS respectively)

Let's destabilize the Ba'athists who while are brutal are at least secular and aren't going to propigate terrorism.

Cool, let's then help the Kurds, the one fairly level-headed entity in the region outside of the Hashemites and Israel.

Or...lets actually f*ck them and let the Islamists take them out to help...even worse Islamists make a comeback.

F*ck Erdogan, Trump's even more of a moron than he already was, and I feel bad for Kemal Ataturk who is now spinning in his grave.

And yes, my research for my UAR concept did make me a bit more open to Ba'athists. I'm not going to be all pro-Ba'athist like Antiochea and Taak, but out of the options in the region, I honestly think they're one of the less bad ones. Better than Iran and Saudi Arabia, that's for sure.

In other news I almost got bit in the face by a dog.

And by almost bit in the face I mean the dog didn't open its mouth wide enough so it just shoved its nose in my face. No teeth but still pretty terrifying, especially since it took me off guard (I was leaning over and the other dog lunged from the side)

Soviet Premier welcomes North Korean Supreme Leader in Soviet-Korean Summit

Moscow has embraced the arrival of North Korea's Kim Jong-Chul for the upcoming summit meeting between Jong-Chul and Soviet premier Alexei Zolotov to discuss a thawing of previously icy ties between the two nations. The meeting follows the assassination of previous Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Un, whose death has concerned Soviet leadership about the possibility of anti-Communist sentiments taking hold in the world's remaining Communist states. Despite having been allies, relations between Pyongyang and Moscow had soured under Kim Jong-Il and continued with his son Kim Jong-Un. Following the the ascension of Jong-Chul as Supreme Leader, Soviets are likely to be more open to a moderate leader of North Korea willing to renew its ties while also reasserting the Soviet sphere of influence in east and northern Asia currently being contested with China.

Jong-Chul is expected to land in Moscow later today to meet Premier Zolotov at the Kremlin. Based on recent events, political spectators have predicted that topics discussed will range from North Korea's nuclear program to the Chinese Republic's alleged interference in North Korean sovereignty. The Soviet Union has assured reluctant nations that Moscow will not enable or encourage the volatile behavior that had been present under Jong-Un's regime, but also that it shall protect the sovereignty of North Korea against 'encroaching powers seeking to intrude in Korea.' There has so far been no response from the United States or China, prominent powers in the region, to the warming of relations between the Soviet Union and North Korea.

Nothing, just feel like sh*t.

(Not actually that awful, but I felt like there was a pattern to keep)

Not that she’ll ever get the nomination because the DNC decides who wins the primary as opposed to voters...but I’m starting to think maybe I could support Tulsi Gabbard if I had to...

I’ll need to do more research, but I have yet to hear anything too overboard from her.

There was a large group supporting her on my campus a little while back, even the centrists may get behind her, the only out-there thing I've heard is that she supports federal slavery reparations.

Placing people before capitalism isn't overboard though..

Also Tulsi Gabbard is a DINO who is just as compromised as Trump and his putin-loving allies. Everything she says is a Kremlin talking piint.

Atatürk was no paragon of virtue.

Not saying he was, but he was sure better than Erdogan, and at least there was some semblance of giving a sh*t about democracy

Oh so funny story, recently one of the companies we call at work changed their name to “Venerable Life Insurance Company” and within a week one of my coworkers accidentally called them “Venereal Life”...

Being a federal worker is the worst single thing any person can do to themselves.

I lost my whole weekend ten minutes before it began and was told us be working twelves until otherwise told.

Trailer dropped today for Crusader Kings 3, and as somebody who ranks CK2 among my top three favorite games, it feels weird to say that I'm more cautious and worried than excited.

I'm mostly dreading the possibility (or certainty more likely) of Paradox locking more than half the map behind $100+ of DLC paywall again, and I really don't want to have to buy all that again if I've already got it with CK2. There's also some nitpicky stuff that more of a "that's kinda strange" than anything else (intentionally taking out the phrase 'Deus Vult' from a game primarily starring the Crusades, for example), but overall I'm holding back any optimism until I get further news.

Gotta love when your Monday starts with your work computer not turning on a you can’t do anything at work...

Her entire thing is taking the United States out of foreign affairs, she just hides it behind "I'm a veteran bring the troops home".

The only countries a U.S. international retreat benefits are Russia and China.
