Demonstrations staged in Brunswick; 15 shot dead

Anti-government demonstrators on Sunday staged protests demanding government transparency and the swift end of political repression. The Elite Republican Guard (ERG) intervened, shooting dead 15 demonstrators after a heated encounter. The President denied allegations that he directly ordered the shooting, but confirmed that he ordered the ERG to "deal with those blabbering fools". A further 52 were severely injured.
