Would anyone like to rate my nation.

Was ancient imperial Rome an inspiration?

I didn't make that connection most of the lore was the decisions I made through out the game for example when I was younger I was kind of a edgy atheist type so I banned religion however after getting the event where people worship you as a god I kind of warmed up to it a bit more and later made it the state religion after mixing some nationalism into it to fit my nations vibe.

I enjoyed reading your factbooks, and I’d love to learn more about your business. How does Emperor Orlan choose which businesses to give subsidies to?

Basically orlannn runs a social credit system where everyone is rated by how loyal and useful to Orlan they are this weeds out disloyal people from succes while allowing more loyal people to thrive I came up with the idea when I was thinking about how people will betray a group they are in for example the nation for personal gain. My first idea was to create a soviet style new man but rather then being for communist goals it would be to increase loyalty to the nation. However I decided instead to co opt personal gain to blur the lines between it and group interests by rewarding people who contribute to the national cause and penalising those who don't.

A social credit system is just what is needed here in Britain, where the welfare system is abused by far too many people apparently incapable of supporting themselves who actually are shirking the responsibility - unemployed single women who aim at getting pregnant repeatedly and drug users whose voluntary habits make them too ill to work.

I vow to thee South Africa to answer your sacred call
To serve my community and fulfill my obligations

To fight with honour and tenacity against your enemies

And to remain steadfast before my God in the face of adversity

I vow to revere and remember those who stood by you at Blood River, Mujuba, Colenso, Deville Wood, Tobruck, and Monte Casino

I vow to keep alive the spirit of Van Riebeeck who discovered a land of promise and plenty

The Voortrekkers who carved out a space worthy of calling their own in the name of the covenant

The Brave Commandoes who resisted with great passion the machinations of an alien regime to the bitter end

The Settlers of 1820 who came to pursue the dream of a better tomorrow

The Fathers of The Nation who set aside their differences for the good of the people in the name of unity from which we derive our strength

This I vow to maintain with every fibre of my being as a loyal citizen of South Africa

How would y'all and your government feel about formalising relations?

Is the nation more important or the ethnic group that controls it.Are nations only the domains of the people they belong to like a tool or do they have value beyond that like something sacred or holy or are so they intertwined that they are the same entity.

I ask because sometimes globalists will argue that their policies that hurt the native population are good as they benefit the nation but nations were created to specifically to benefit the natives so in a hypothetical situation where only one can succeed the people are more important.

Ι believe that a nation is merely a representation of the people in it, a very pretty Idea/concept. In the "ideal" nation, of let's say, Vipathe, only aesthetically and mentally pleasing peoples are desirable. Much like the ancient Greek Kallos philosophy.

"The ancient Greek word "Kallos" means "beauty" and is associated with both women and men. However, the meaning of "Kallos" in its ultimate dimension, is not just a word that means only "beauty". It is an ideal that developed in ancient Greek thought, was expressed through the epic (8th century BC) and lyric (7th - 6th century BC) poets and was gradually crystallized in the texts of the philosophers of the 5th / 4th c. BC. who, from then on, referred to it as a combination of physical appearance and the virtues of the soul."

I think nations are more a representation of its government because often the people disagree with the government's handling of the nation but cant do anything about it.

The native people are the nation. They form the government, and the government should be protecting their interests because that is the point of government. In an ideal world.

A nation that fails to act in the interest of its local/native population is often considered a failed state, after all
