OOC: Sorry for not actually doing an election. Consider the last couple days (IC weeks) the time the campaigns were. Sorry for being lazy and not rp'ing the actual campaigning.

Valeria Yezici-Makonnen wins the election!

Valeria Yezici-Makonnen has won the election called on who to succeed Ras Taffari Makonnen, who resigned due to his impeachment. Valeria secured a strong 75% victory and was endorsed by major politicians of both the blues and pinks. 25 years old, Asian-Infinian and Catholic, she revolutionizes the Infinian throne by being its youngest, first female, first of Asian heritage and first Catholic emperor of Infiny. Valeria has been married to Makonnen for an exceptionally short two years, after she broke up with him because she did not find him assertive enough. Known for her style, assertiveness, and modesty, people have voted someone entirely different into office. Infiny is changing more rapidly than anyone could ever imagine.

Empress Valeria: This was me 5 and a half years ago. Oh boy, where do I even begin with this?

I was 20 years old, full of passion and hopes! The hopes I still have. And the passions were beautiful, just like the message. I stand by those words of unity and peace. But I would not consider my self a leftie. No, you elected me for my views on this country and how my fiancee made it slowly slide into anarchy. Crime is rampant and Infiny is only territorially restored to its former self. Our businesses have been systematically oppressed which has made the Infinian people lazy, decadent and poor. I promise that I will bring wealth to this society by installing various social norms, that will include order and morality. Infiny will be a nation famous for its industrious, well-behaved people, who are always willing to help and are not selfish. For that selfishness will soon be replaced by community values, so that we can help everyone in this country. We are all in this together!

In that sense, there is nothing wrong with nationalism. There is only a limited amount of people that the government controls, and only those people we can help. It isn't wrong to take pride in your country and love your customs! Love your country so that you can love your countrymen! So that we can make this country full of love, of peace, and of safety. That's what I stand for, and as your empress, that is what I will realize!
