Considering the recent developments regarding the ongoing situation in Australia and the latest information that has been made public by the Government of that nation, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Furstia, utilizing this important diplomatic channel, desires to clarify its stance on the matter.

The Socialist Republic of Furstia rejects the accusation made by the Government of -greater australia- and denies having any sort of involvement in the attack that occurred in the city of Sydney earlier this month, which was perpetrated by the islamic wahhabist organization commonly known as "Al-Kaeda" using a radiological dispersion device.

Our Government does not endorse or support in any sort of way, any radical or destabilizing organizations that threaten the internal security of other countries.
Being a member state of this illustrious organization, the Socialist Republic of Furstia is fully committed towards resolving any differences with other nations diplomatically and the preservation of peace.

Addressing the information released as "evidence" of the involvement of the Socialist Republic of Furstia in the Central Railway Station, the lead casing - in which purportedly the fissile material that was used in the aforementioned scenario was contained - did not originated from Furstia.

To provide historical context, it is a well known fact that Furstia and the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics enjoyed great levels of cooperation during the years previous to 1991 for a prolonged period of time and the latter country - being a nuclear power - assisted our nation with the construction of our first nuclear power plant in 1983. The Zangana Nuclear Power Plant operates 2 reactors of the "RBMK-1500" type.

While Furstia is the only country currently operating with the type of reactors known as "RBMK-1500", there is reliable information that proves that the Soviet Union did manufacture the parts of the same reactor type for tests and their posterior construction or assembly in their own country. Regrettably, the Chernobyl incident of 1986 prevented that.

More so, the engraving quoted in the statement released by the Australian Government is an erroneous translation of the letters "RBMK", which are probably written in the Russian Cyrillic alphabet. Реактор Большой Мощности Канальный - РБМК / Reaktor Bolshoy Moshchnosti Kanalnyy - RBMK.

Taking into account these facts, the lead casing quite possibly may have its origins in any country of the former Soviet Union, as Furstia does not utilize the Cyrillic alphabet.

When it comes to the supossed "confession" obtained by the Australian Government from a captured terrorist, there is no solid evidence provided which can corroborate that Furstian Special Forces were present in Afghanistan.

Besides the known fact that the Socialist Republic of Furstia did not participated in the recent Australian-led intervention in Afghanistan, the words of the former terrorist lack any value for this Government as it most likely was just an awful attempt to avoid a just punishment for his past actions.

Having properly addressed this incident, the Socialist Republic of Furstia hereby states the following:

- The Socialist Republic of Furstia completely denies any accusation of the direct or indirect involvement of this country in the Sydney Central Railway Station radiological attack.

- The Socialist Republic of Furstia utterly rejects the preposterous accusation of collaboration of this country with a radical and extremist terrorist organization.

- The Socialist Republic of Furstia respectfully demands an immediate correction of this incident through proper diplomatic means from the Australian Government, and expects the appropiate issuing of official apologies in a timely manner.

Finally, the Furstian People and Government continue to stand in solidarity with the relatives of the persons that lost their lives in the two deadly and tragic incidents that happened in the city of Sydney. Once again, we extend our most sincere condolences to all the victims of the Sydney Twin Towers and the Sydney Central Railway Station attacks.

Signed,
Ignacio Sousa, Permanent Representative of the Socialist Republic of Furstia to the World Congress
