City changes its name
The Peloponnesian city of Tripoli has officially changed its name today. The new name of the city is “Drobolitsa”, the same name that the city had in the Middle Ages. The reason of the name change is that it is often confused with the city on the Libyan coast with the same name. A referendum on the name change was held three months ago in the city, in which 63% of the city’s inhabitants voted in favor of the name change. As of today, the new name is officially in use.
