Spain all goes to the vote

After the Prime Ministers visit to Spain the Spanish government has decided to take the matter to the Cortes Generales, should it receive approval from both houses then the motion will go to the people of Spain to vote on membership of the Union.

However, it is said by some members of the Spanish Government that they are unhappy with the terms of Union membership and feel it would be more beneficial to stay independent. Spanish News company El Confidencial - who are known to be anti government paper - said in their paper today "This seems to have more to do with the support offered by the Imperium than not being happy with the terms of Union membership." They then continued to say "That being said the demands of the Spanish government didn't go down well with the Union Prime Minister."

Meanwhile at home Deputy Prime Minister, Boris Johnson said this morning "This is a positive step towards Spain joining the Union. The benefits of membership outweigh any possible disadvantages that the Spanish might perceive."

In other news A Parakkan Destroyer has docked at Gibraltar, which the Union Government has been quick to emphasis that this was a routine stop, and not related to the current issues in Europe.
