- - - MBC News - Mathornian Senate confirms Matthew Watson to serve on the Supreme Court - - -

Today, after several weeks of hearings and scrutiny by the Senate's Judiciary Committee, the Senate has voted by a margin of 97-2 to confirm Matthew Watson as an associate justice on the Mathorn Supreme Court. Mr. Watson replaces the late associate justice, Linda Morris, who passed away around two months ago. Matthew Watson is President's White first Supreme Court appointment, and will begin his role next week.

In a statement today, Senate Judiciary Committee Chair, Labour's Keagan Kurt, said that "Mr. Watson has an incredible track record in the Mathornian judicial system, and at lower provincial courts. Using his experience on Anerst's Provincial Supreme Court, Mr. Watson will undoubtedly provide an excellent addition to theMathornia Supreme Court."
