Your Excellency,

After the fruitful deliberations held at the Kyoto Festival, which His Majesty’s Government hopes will lead to ever more co-operation between our two states, it is hardly deemed acceptable that up until this point, no Minister Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary has been selected to represent our interests in Japan, and vice versa your own interests in Westminster City.

It is therefore that we propose to exchange formal diplomatic missions in the form of an ordinary Embassy. If you are willing to accept this offer, we would like to nominate and appoint as our Ambassador His Excellency Diederik van Teylingen, Esq., who has experience in various communication departments of His Majesty’s Government, and undoubtedly possesses the qualities of a proper diplomat.

Please do also nominate and appoint some proper person you think fit as Ambassador to and at the Court of Saint James’s (His Majesty’s official senior residence) in the City of Westminster.

His Excellency The Rt. Hon. James Courtenay MP
Secretary of State for External Affairs

Your Excellency,

The Department of Foreign Affairs of Japan, along with the entirety of the Japanese government, agree with your statement wholeheartedly. It is long overdue for diplomatic missions to be formally established between our two nations in the form of on ordinary Embassy. On behalf of the government of Japan, and by the power invested in me, Japan accepts your proposal to exchange formal diplomatic missions [in the form of an ordinary Embassy].

His excellency, Diederik van Teylingen, Esq. will be accepted into Japan upon his arrival. In return, our department would like to nominate and appoint Takahashi Harutatsu (高橋春達) as ambassador to and at the Court of Saint James's in the City of Westminster. Representative Takahashi served in the House of Representatives of Japan from 2010 to 2020. He also carries a Master's degree in Western Studies.

We wish a long life to both his Majesty, and to relations between our nations.

Jinnouchi Tokaji (神之内トカイ),
Secretary of Foreign Affairs for Japan
