The outcome, while closely contested, saw the Tātai Party emerge as the frontrunner, clinching a narrow absolute majority with 40 out of 77 seats in the newly formed parliament.
The Commonwealth Party, a political contender advocating for the return into the Gelenian Commonwealth, secured 21 seats, underscoring its enduring influence and support base within Tātaiwhetu's political landscape. Following closely behind, the Anatollies Confederate Party garnered 12 seats, reflecting a commitment to regional cooperation and intergovernmental dialogue. Notably, the radical "TE IWI" made its mark by securing 4 seats, signaling a rising voice for nationalist indigenous empowerment and anti-colonial, anti-foreign activism.

The Cycling Surge of a Growing Nation
Gelenian Nozhnorstan, still fresh from the old Gelenian Northern Asania days, will remember 1835 as a year of changes and surprises: it won its first ever medal in cycling at the World Games, thanks to a young and talented rider named Natalia Javprovska.
Natalia, 23, was born in Kralovane, a tiny village in the oblazhon of Dyelasda Gury, where she grew up in a modest farming family and witnessed the transformation of her beloved region since the discovery of oil deposits, which brought economic development and big social changes. She was always passionate about cycling, and her parents supported her dream of becoming a professional athlete. Turned 18, she moved to the capital city to study engineering and train with the best coaches and facilities, ending up playing in the Country's most important races.
Cycling has a special meaning for the people of Gelenian Nozhnorstan, as it is part of their history and culture. Before the advent of cars, bicycles were the main means of transportation for many citizens, especially during the war, when they used them to avoid unwanted attention and carry information and supplies across the Country. The FVSN, the Nozhnor cycling federation, was founded with the purpose of providing thousands of families with the necessary resources to survive those cold years.
Natalia's achievement at the World Games was a source of pride and joy for the whole nation, which celebrated her with a huge parade and a national holiday. She received the bronze medal in the road race, after a thrilling sprint against the favorites from Caliane and Batavia. She dedicated her medal to her family, her team, and her country, and thanked them for their support and encouragement. She also expressed her hope of inspiring more young people to pursue their dreams and passions, and to represent Gelenian Nozhnorstan-a nation which is finally getting out of its bubble to shine-with honor and dignity.

The Siiqiran Referendum, after so long!
20th of Embersend, 1836
Finally, in all the towns and cities of Siiqir, people have been able to vote for their future. The referendum had originally been scheduled for spring of 1835, but holdups in the negotiations and the outbreak of Wool Fever intensifying across the country made that unfeasible. So, with great grumbling and complaining from the populace, the vote had to be delayed until the next year.
With the Novogaardian Parliament already showing its support for a more independent Siiqir, the only thing that remained was to see whether or not Siiqir itself agreed with them. And so it was that throughout Embersend, official locales had voting booths established, and distant tribes got sent mail-in ballots.
In the end, the results came out as follows.
77.1% of voters voted Yes,
and 22.9% of voters voted No.
With a pretty reasonable turnout of around 70 percent, it's been agreed that the referendum accurately reflects the wishes of the Siiqiran people, and as such the establishment of the Siiqir Special Autonomous Zone is to begin soon, with elections for a Chief Executive of the region slated to be held early next year.
Many hold this as a great victory for Siiqiran interests, while some groups claim that such an arrangement isn't far enough. There are even those who already, before Siiqir has even become properly autonomous, already decry the idea as bad, and call for the return to full Novogaardian control. But if there is one thing these factions can agree on, it's that they're relieved that the referendum finally happened.
