If only.
The current embassy provision that prohibits forming embassies with "extremists" and communists is arbitrary and prohibits growth and necessary diplomacy to the region. Having open dialogue and diplomacy with leftist regions can help to facilitate more immigration and increased culture in the region. Not only this but to newcomers, this provision misrepresents the region as a whole. The word extremist is inherently both arbitrary and relative. To me free-market capitalists are extremists. To authoritarians, liberal democracy is extreme. This is even worse given that the language is "any ideology we deem extremists" so that could be just about anything.

I refuse to conduct diplomacy with fascist regions because they are toxic. Same with Nazi regions. If I'm going to refuse to build embassies with them due to their toxicity, why shouldn't I do the same for communist regions? They're just as cancerous, from my experiences; I wouldn't want their people coming here (just as I wouldn't want Nazis coming here), they wouldn't get along with our populous for the most part, either way. The ambiguity of the term extremist exists only to encompass other hateful ideologies if they intend to pursue relations with us; ideologies such as conventism. Trying to think of every possible ideology, especially when ideologies can so easily be fabricated or renamed, is an exercise in futility. Though, it should be noted that there's nothing legally binding about our embassy requirements; they're just an informal formal expression of our Ministry of Diplomacy's FA policy.

I don't think I implied that it doesn't matter; it simply isn't binding, it isn't law. Which perhaps isn't relevant. The point is that it's essentially a matter of policy (something that isn't always 100%; policy can be malleable at times if it isn't perfectly enshrined in law). I understand what you're saying about the subjectivity of it, however.
How about this. Instead of blanket identifying ideologies that we don't want relations with, we just say toxic regions and investigate anyone who applies for embassies to see whether or not their community is toxic? If we do that, we can provide some justification for the rejection to said region when they apply. Is that too ambiguous?
yeah thats good; i think ambiguity is good in this situation as it allows the FA ministry to deal with things on a case by case basis

"We will not accept relations with any regions who are fascist, community, or any other ideology we deem extremist."
I more disagree with the community part, we don't want any regions with communities!! community bad
I absolutely agree with you, well said!
