~Chief Executive: Markanite
~WA Delegate: HumanSanity
~Senior Senator for New Republica South (Debates and Discussions): Controlitia
~Senator for Himes West (RP): Wille-Harlia
~Senator for Blue Canaria North (Emissary Report): Wischland
~Senator for Lyonnesse East (Houses): Aschente
~Minister of Education: Grea Kriopia
~Minister of Labor: Free Las Pinas

Information about other government officials of 10000 Islands can be found Linkhere.

New Government Appointments

~Minister of Education Grea Kriopia hired Dokansia to serve as Deputy Minister of Education and assist in organizing and updating The Great Library of 10000 Islands and coordinating the mentorship of new Islanders.
~GK also hired Murphtannia as XKI’s latest Welcome Buddy to help greet new Islanders and get them adjusted to life in the region.
~Secretary of State Margaux hired Sulenia to serve as the new emissary to Europe, Megistos as emissary to Canada, Dokansia as emissary to Thaecia, and Astrobolt as emissary to the International Democratic Union.

Around the Islands

~December’s LinkFeatured Nation is Megistos, who, besides being a frequent roleplayer, has also joined the Card Co-op and been appointed as emissary to Canada. Congrats Megistos, we’re excited to see where the future takes you!
~Islanders took a trip to the Wintreath forum to play a very intense game of Lord of the Rings-themed LinkWerewolf. Members from both regions worked hard to hunt down Sauron’s forces (the wolves) and translate between the playing styles of each region. In the end, the Fellowship (the town), after plenty of arguments and a few false lynches, managed to deduce the wolves’ identities and secure victory. XKI looks forward to hosting Wintreath for another game of WW next month!
~The holiday season brought plenty of festivities to XKI, with the Cultural Office planning a Linkvariety of events throughout the month. Islanders traded presents in a LinkSecret Santa Exchange, anonymously gifting music playlists, drawings, and pictures of cute Christmas animals. The Cultural Office also hosted two Game Sundays, with round of Among Us, Skribble.io, and Uno. Thedairos invited Islanders to participate in a XKI Kahoot, offering several valuable cards to those with the most knowledge about 10000 Islands. With plenty of fun festivities, XKI spent a delightful holiday season together.
~Chief Executive Markanite also got Islanders into the gift-giving mood by setting up the LinkRudolph’s Presents function on the forum. Islanders were able to collect gift tokens by posting of the forum, then send other nation’s all sorts of delightful gifts, picking from a wide range of animal, food, and other emojis. On Christmas Day, receiving Islanders could open up their gifts and enjoy the appreciation (and humor) shown by their friends.
~As the year approached it’s end, Islanders realized they were still miles away from success in the forums LinkCount to 2021 before 2021 thread. Islanders old and new stepped up to the task and spammed like never before to reach the 2021 goal before the end of the year. On December 31st, Islanders pushed for the finish line with over 200 posts, with Echolilia bringing XKI home with the final 2021 post!

Islander Achievements

~Dokansia took his first foray into issue authorship with his draft Baptism of Liars, about the fallout of religious scams. Dok isn’t the only aspiring issue author though, as Wille-Harlia is also hard at work with his draft Congressional Non-Concession. Best of luck to the both of them in getting their issues published, and in their future issue writing endeavors!
~Several of the region’s newer members proved themselves to be promising issue players by gathering up their first few top 1% stats. Belize and honduras achieved their first 1% badge early in the month, with the second one not far behind. Meanwhile Porymonia managed to achieve their third 1% badge Although they still have a long way to go before they reach the level of NS’s top issue players, these Islander’s dedication to their stats is already proving to be impressive. Their stat rankings are sure to improve as they continue to play.
~One of XKI’s longest members and a top issue player The Soylent Green Party reached an impressive population milestone in December. Reaching a population of 20 billion, The Soylent Green Party shows their impressive long-term dedication to the game. Such a high population count is the result of years of work. We cannot thank them enough for choosing XKI as their home.

XKI Game-Side

A regional poll by Jabberwocky asked Islanders which RL national figure had the best hair. Islanders showed their appreciation for Justin Trudeeau’s swoopy brown locks by a wide majority of votes.

The RMB was in an understandably festive mood for the holiday season:

~Liminal Spaces
~Very logical stats
~The very essence of the RMB
~A little endo love
~Not on the regional poll to be sure
~A true Christmas fan
~Step 1: Imprisonment, Step 2: Shut Down, Step 3: Profit
~It’s not a region, it’s a lifestyle
~Viva la Revolución!

Meet A Nation Interview

Grea Kriopia is an important member of XKI, having served as Senator for Blue Canaria North and Cultural Officer, and now finding her place as Minister of Education and a TITO Tactical Officer. We managed to track GK down between updates to ask a few interview question.

Wischland: With the year approaching its end, let’s take a look back. What’s been your favorite aspect or memory of this past year in XKI?

Grea Kriopia: Oh goodness, I've only been around since January so this past year has been everything for me. If we're going with favorite memories, I would say hosting the XKI Summer Olympics and then growing into my past work as Cultural Officer. I really enjoyed reviving more casual events like our weekly Movie Nights and spending time with our community. My favorite aspect has undoubtedly been the variety of work I've taken on over the last year–every day is something new and different.

Wisch: You sure have taken on a variety of work! With two different Council of Nine positions, Cultural Officer, and TITO Command under your belt, your rise in the region has been meteoric. What would you say contributed to your success in achieving such important roles so quickly?

GK: Is too much time on my hands a valid answer? In all seriousness, I can't say there's one specific reason for everything I've achieved up until now. I simply try to make myself as helpful as possible, do solid work, and not settle for anything less. I genuinely enjoy 99% of everything I do as well, so I'm sure that helps somehow!

Wisch: Let's take a closer look at your current position as Minister of Education. What do you do in this role?

GK: Generally speaking, the MoE is all about education/record keeping (obviously) and regional retention. My primary responsibilities are maintaining our Great Library with its various historical records and managing our Welcome Buddies as they guide new nations in our region. Naturally, this also allows some flexibility for pet projects and new ideas.

Wisch: Could you explain the Welcome Buddies program in more detail? What's the procedure you direct the Buddies to follow?

GK: Our Welcome Buddies are essentially tour guides for new nations when they arrive in XKI after being recruited. Buddies personally telegram new arrivals with helpful tips and starting information that many might not find right away. They also serve to answer starting questions which newer nations might not know how to answer. Each buddy does things differently, but all are meant to help new nations feel noticed and connected to our community.

Wisch: And what sort of advice would you give to such a new nation looking to get involved?

GK: Take your time to look around! Joining NS is an extremely steep learning curve with an overwhelming amount of information to ingest all at once. There's an endless amount of ways to get involved, so take the time to explore areas you didn't look at initially and find the opportunities you want for yourself. And, of course, don't be afraid to put yourself out there when looking for ways to help.

Wisch: Looking forward into the next year, what path do you see for XKI in the future?

GK: Well, nothing is set in stone, but I think this coming year will hold even more outreach and regional cooperation along with new regional improvements. A few large events already come to mind looming on the horizon of 2021, and I have no doubt we'll continue to push much of the hard work begun this year even further.

Wisch: Sounds exciting! And do you have any personal plans? Should we expect you to take on any new positions this coming year?

GK: No plans in terms of positions, I really like what I'm doing right now and would like to keep it up for a longer period of time unless something changes drastically. Otherwise, I know I'll have my hands in some fun festivals and events this upcoming year, maybe I'll try to branch out into some new hobbies. Then again, I always say that before taking on more usual work :P

Wisch Well, whatever you do, I’m sure it’ll turn out great. Any final comments you’d like to make?

GK: Thanks, I appreciate the confidence! Have a great New Year everyone and stay healthy~

No Place for NationStates like the Holidays

FEATURE | WRITTEN BY Crowheim | EDITED BY Agalaesia

The holiday season is ending as we pass Christmas, the New Year, and whatever other holidays you may celebrate. It is time to put away the tinsel, the mistletoe, and the sugar plums, but not before we take one last good look at how the residents and players of NationStates’s Game Created Regions celebrated their holidays on-site.

First, in the world’s oldest region: The Pacific. The Vox Populi of the region, Waterfall State, hosted the month long Pacifican Christmas event, which featured fun seasonal polls, an issue-themed banhammer competition in which nations sent puppets to a region where every day a new stat is chosen and the player with the lowest of these is banjected, a short story competition, a card raffle, and games of Among Us.

Meanwhile, in the West Pacific, a different month-long event was held: the Midwinter Shenanigans. A calendar with events on each day of the month of December was published, featuring a snowman building activity, a “reindeer deathmatch”, and a secret santa gift exchange. Recipes for cookies and cocktails were also collected and published in a cookbook in time for the End of Year Cocktail Party, which ran from January 1st to the 3rd.

In the South Pacific, the region celebrated through a contest to decide the holiday-themed flag for the region, and through the day-by-day publishing and reading of “The Auphelian Solstice Series”, a collection of twelve consecutive short stories with a holiday theme. The region also collaborated with Lazarus to host Megafest, a month-long extravaganza with Choose your Own Adventure games, card lotteries, an “Ask Me Anything” with Treadwellia, the delegate of Lazarus, and more.

The East Pacific ran several of their own activities, including art contests, a secret Santa program, and a haiku competition for the holidays, celebrating their holiday spirit in a slightly quieter fashion than many other regions onsite.

Osiris’s Wymondham collaborated with leaders from other regions, such as Miss Bad Life Choices and Aynia Moreaux, to host a site-wide charity fundraiser, with donations going to the Trevor Project. Events were hosted to promote the fundraiser, including streams with prominent NSers such as former TEP delegate Fedele, TWP delegate Dilber, and TRR’s own Culture Officer Nakari. Individual participating regions also took part in the event planning, many of them organizing their own promotions for the fundraiser, which at the time of writing, has raised 3,400 dollars.

Neither Balder nor the North Pacific held any major events, but...

last and certainly not least, the Rejected Realms hosted Rejectmas, as they do annually, under the supervision of Culture Officer Nakari. Highlights include a Chess Competition, described by Nakari as “just like the Queen’s Gambit, but sexier and with better camera work." Rejectmas also included the traditional Lord of Misrule, where the RMB is subjected to bizarre and wacky rules, a Home Alone movie night, Nakari’s signature Popmaster events, and a contest to design a flag to fly over the region on New Year’s Day.

As you can tell from the vast variety of events that took place, there was quite a lot to do over the holiday season and the month of December. And that is only the GCRs!

    Epilepsy Awareness Month 2020

COMMENTARY | WRITTEN BY The church of satan

First and foremost, it is important you know that I AM NOT A DOCTOR. The information from this article is derived from organizations that specialize in epilepsy as well as the scientists therein. Admittedly I missed 2019’s article for reasons I can’t remember. I’m even late for 2020’s article. It may not be November or 2020 right now, but regardless I think this article is very important under the circumstances. With a pandemic in full swing, many people have one question on their mind, “How does COVID-19 affect people with epilepsy?” The short answer is that it does and it doesn’t. It can either have no effect, or it can have severe effects. I know what you’re thinking, “This sounds like an answer and a non-answer!” The long answer requires more detail, and I hope you stick around long enough to read it. Studies are being conducted around the world but so far none have discovered any increased risks from the virus itself. First, we’ll be looking at the beginning.

    Pre-Infection

Currently, studies show that people with epilepsy are not at an increased risk of infection. Non-related factors can, of course, result in an increased risk of infection but epilepsy itself is not a risk factor because it does not compromise the immune system. If you have COVID-19 and epilepsy, then epilepsy had nothing to do with it. While the CDC has included epilepsy on a list of conditions that may increase the risk of infection, that is only because it is a neurological condition. The UK has included people with neurological conditions as an “at-risk” group, but it does not specify epilepsy. Until studies prove otherwise, there is no reason to believe that epilepsy increases the risk of infection. Additionally, there is no evidence to suggest that epilepsy medication causes an increased risk of infection so you can take comfort that the medication will not cause any complications.

    During Infection

This is where it gets risky. People with uncontrolled seizures, particularly seizures triggered by fever or infection, may be more vulnerable to increased seizures at the time of infection but there is no evidence of this yet. There is also no evidence to suggest that epilepsy medication will cause complications after infection. I am no doctor, but I am not concerned about any trouble from taking my medication during the pandemic. However, studies show that there is a low risk of an increase in the frequency and severity of seizures after infection. This is where you should be concerned but attempts at prevention of infection are the best way to avoid this possibility. Fever and the stress on the body that comes with COVID-19 are where the increase in seizure frequency and severity come in. However, even without COVID-19 fever and any condition that causes significant stress on the body could have the same effect. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 the smart thing to do is to get tested as soon as possible. If you do have a seizure it is more prudent to call your doctor rather than go to the emergency room unless your seizure lasts for more than five minutes, occur in clusters, occur in water (such as while in the bath or a swimming pool), are followed by unusually prolonged postictal symptoms (confusion after a seizure) or abnormal recovery or if the seizure(s) cause potentially dangerous injury. If you’re taking any experimental drugs, then the institution responsible for monitoring you and your condition should be consulted. They will know better. If you do go to the emergency room or even just for a check-up at your regular doctor, then it is prudent to let them know you’re taking an experimental drug. The effects it can have are unknown. If you or anyone else is wearing a mask during a seizure it is recommended that the mask be carefully removed in order to facilitate optimal airway function. If a seizure does last for more than five minutes, then you can be content with the safety of administering buccal or nasal medication (intranasal midazolam) as there is no evidence to suggest that they will cause complications due to COVID-19 infection. Recent evidence has suggested that laying prone (on your stomach) causes improved breathing in people that have respiratory issues caused by COVID-19. However, sleeping in a prone position has been associated with SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death from Epilepsy), a condition that is currently very much not understood. I’d go into it but since it was intended to be the subject of last year’s article, let’s save that for next year’s article. Let’s just say that for reasons unknown, people with epilepsy are more likely to die from seizures if they sleep while laying prone. If you have epilepsy and COVID-19 it’s best to consult your doctor about how to proceed in this regard. In conclusion, prevention is the most important thing you can do. Take steps to lower your risk of infection. If you are infected then consult your neurologist and your primary care physician. They will be a better source for advice on the subject than any average joe, including me.

    Indirect Effects

By virtue of the chaos and "traffic jam" as it were, you might find that it's more difficult to get your prescriptions. Doctors are busier than ever and drug stores have longer lines. It would be prudent to ask your doctor about extra prescriptions just in case. You wouldn’t want to run out of medication at all, but even more so now.

DISCLAIMER: While surveys conducted via telephone and other telecommunications methods have gathered certain data on the subject, those surveys do not have any scientific data to support their conclusions, (including but not limited to EEG’s, physical examinations, blood tests, etc) so I would not rely on them for accuracy unless scientific studies have corroborated their findings.

Editor's Note: you can view more information about COVID-19 on the World Health Organization's Website here: Linkhttps://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019

Union workers shut down Grim Interregional Airport by force

    SATIRE | WRITTEN BY Glacikaldr

RRA Corporal Dooley standing down at the sight of Pepsi

Although the Rejected Nations Ejection Union (RNEU) protest in Gettersburg Market on Rejectmas Day 2020 went ahead peacefully, protestors later marched down to blockade the Grim Interregional Airport. Following half a day of disruption, the Rejected Realms Army tried to disburse the protest. While workers resisted, the situation quickly deescalated after our reporter on the ground presented a can of Pepsi to the RRA.

While the situation diffused, the Rejected Realms’ Officer of Foreign Affairs held a TRT-exclusive press conference: “We stand by the actions of our good boys in purple, even after what they did to the children. Though we are sympathetic to the concerns of these workers, the RRA did a fine job at taking back Grim Interregional Airport. Regardless, we are halting flights until this situation subsides.”

Nonetheless, the RNEU’s workplace disruption still remains at large. During this 2020 Rejectmas, ejection workers have united and refused to render their ejection, banjection, and rehousing services for any regions refusing to contribute to their wage increase. The Rejected Realms has long been the subject of cheap labour for processing ejections and banjections alongside rehousing exiled nations, better explained as terraforming landmasses to accommodate entirely new nations sent to TRR. Particularly damning is the frequent use of these services by Pacificans and Gamplayers who refuse to contribute to these workers’ wages, and yet continue to extort TRR as a source of cheap workers.

Union Boss Tcejer, during an interview with The Rejected Tabloid, explained how the RNEU “stands by its convictions … if regionalists need Rejects so desperately, they will quickly find that our services are only rendered at a price. Back pay included, and we’ll be collecting real soon.” While this threat was at first determined weightless, this latest action of bringing down one of TRR’s busiest airports just goes to show how real of a threat the RNEU poses to the current economic dependence on TRR’s cheap ejection services by countless other regions who likely never gave these services a second thought.

As we left the TRT-exclusive press conference, we saw TRR’s Delegate arriving at the Department of Foreign Affairs. This appearance was soon followed by thousands of civil servants rushing out and ushering in foreign diplomats at a comical pace. Ever since, their offices have been bustling with foreign diplomats who seem crammed in like sardines as the Officer of Foreign Affairs rushes about and starts negotiations in hallways, joined by staff carrying charcuterie boards and an emergency reserve of whiskey being saved for the Officer when in need.

    Regional Message Board Suppression

OPINION | WRITTEN BY Agalaesia | EDITED BY Makdon; The church of satan

In the past few weeks, there has been a large debate surrounding suppression on the Rejected Realms Message Board, with people eventually voicing their discontent on a forum thread and the delegate eventually issuing a recommendation to stop all suppressions.

This is a very interesting moderation policy, especially for a region that cannot ban its members, and it doesn’t seem to be a stance that many Game Created Regions are adopting today.

    What the Statistics Tell Us:

In the Rejected Realms, around 32750 posts were written on the regional message board in the span of one year. In Lazarus, a sinker that has around one hundred more nations than the Rejected Realms at the time of writing, only 14350 posts were made in their regional message board over the course of the year. In the South Pacific, the feeder region that is closest in population to the Rejected Realms saw around 126000 posts on their regional message board.

Osiris and Balder saw 5400 and 3600 posts respectively.

My point here is to illustrate that although the Rejected Realms’ Board isn’t as active as the South Pacific’s, it is relatively busy compared to the other sinkers, who have little to no official Regional Message Board Rules. This means that a suppressions policy is likely more needed, as there is a larger volume of messages that come through, and with activity comes disruption.

So, should TRR Have a Rules or Suppression Policy?

Most people who argue against suppressions state that suppressions decrease the quality and flow of conversation on the board, and that truly rule-breaking posts can be handled by the on-site moderators (one of which resides in the Rejected Realms). Similar reasoning is used against Board rules.

Suppressions, however, serve a few purposes:

    1) They make the RMB more aesthetically pleasing. The Regional Message Board is often covered in serious spam that may take a while for NationStates moderators to suppress, as they aren’t always online. Suppression makes unpleasant spam disappear, which ensures that the board is easier to read, especially on mobile screens, which are a pain to read the board with anyway;

    2) They serve as a warning system to ensure that behaviour that may have a negative impact on the quality of the RMB in the future.

Online messaging generally is full of spam and unwanted messages, and to control them, we need to dish out some form of punishment. As the Rejected Realms cannot ban individuals, suppression is the best warning system we have to prevent nations from posting unsavoury and unneeded content that a majority of users find irritating (such as “nonsense,” and blatant spam posts.)

What Criteria Should We Adopt for Suppression?

I think that criteria for suppression, in general, should be decided on what issues the message board presently faces at a given time, and should generally include rules to tackle that specific problem.

The rules should also be malleable and contain no superfluity - if the key individuals posting on the regional message board say that a certain criteria for suppression is harming conversation or is no longer required because the issue that the suppression was initially combatting no longer exists.

    Kral's Cooking Column: Arepas

RECIPE | WRITTEN BY Kraljevstvo Rata

Hey everyone! How are you today? Hope you're doing fine. This recipe is for arepas, commonly prepared by the people of South America, typically by Colombians, Venezuelans, Bolivians, and to a lesser extent Ecuadorians. This recipe is going to focus on the Ecuadorian way of preparing this food.
    Onto the recipe:

    Ingredients:

    A bag of white cornmeal
    A bowl of water
    Mozzarella, or Oaxaca cheese
    Butter (Salted)
    A pan
    A stove
Hopefully some sort of shelter if you have it.
    Instructions:

    1. Mix your cornmeal and water. Be careful not to overpour your water with the cornmeal. You want a dough-like consistency. Knead that stuff.
1a. If your dough is too dry, add water until it is soft and malleable.
    2. Roll your dough into a ball, and squash it into a disc. Make an indent in this disc.
    3. Put your choice cheese into this indent, and fold the edges of the cornmeal dough onto itself.
    4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you run out of dough.
    5. Get that pan, throw some butter on it (think frying eggs), and toast the arepas. They should have black spots where you toast them. This is perfectly normal.
    6. Take them out of the pan. Eat them off of the plate that I didn't specify in the ingredients list

My mother used to make these all the time. I remember sitting down at the table (as you do when you're about to eat) and just scarfing them down. I loved these, and if you make them, you will too.

Hello.

Kronisia

Force

Hi there! This is Force's new Ambassador to Canada, as well as new Chief Diplomat, coming to swing by with a regional update!

The Civil Service has been formally reestablished into a much more digestible format (Previously it was a rag tag group of secretaries and ministry members, and now it is much more organized.)

We have also established a Federal Press Office where official news will be sent out to regions, such as yours!

United Free Wing has been made the Governor of Hyperion, one of Force's Territories.

Pridnestrovskaia Moldavskaia, Tigslarlowducken, And Yamatochi have been elected Justices.

Kronisia, Sidervida, Tigslarlowducken, and Caduceo have been elected House Representatives representing the capital region, Force. Speaker elections are ongoing, but I will also notify you when the Speaker of the House is elected.

As a separate note, I look forward to working with you all, for the good of our regions! I have placed a post on your forums regarding my assignment, as well.

Sincerely, your Force friend,

Kronisia

Almonaster Nuevo, Parkplace, Soliysk, and Ngai ti empire

Thanks for the forceful update!

Kronisia

Smaller update to the last, but a promised one; Drew Durnil remains Speaker of the House, and has elected Kronisia as Deputy Speaker.

Thanks for taking the time to read our updates!

Your Force friend,

Kronisia

Ngai ti empire

Hello Canadian friends! ^_^

Forest Photo Contest 2020

.
.
.

.

2020 has undoubtedly been a year like no other. The general consensus is that it’s been crazy if not outright terrible. But with the holidays and the new year just around the corner, 2020 is finally coming to an end. Before we move on to a hopefully smoother 2021, though, there’s one last thing that needs to be done: the sixth annual Forest Photo Contest!

Here's what you need to know:

🌲 We have four categories once again this year:

  • LinkTrees (this category is permanent each year)

  • LinkLight & Dark (photos that display astounding lights and/or shades)

  • LinkSeasons (photos that represent one of the seasons or a certain time of year)

  • Link2020 (any photo that resonates with or represents this crazy year)

🌲 You may submit up to 12 photos total. You may choose how to divide those among the different categories, but please do not submit more than 12.

🌲 Please post your photos in the appropriate thread on our forums, located Linkhere. You may also submit photos via a link to an image hosting site in a telegram to Mount Seymour.

🌲 The photos must be taken by you, but can be taken at any time (not just during the contest).

🌲 Anyone in Forest or in a region which has an embassy with Forest may submit photographs for the Contest.

🌲 Timing:

  • Submissions will be open from December 18 at 00:00 GMT (7:00pm Dec 18 EST) to January 23rd at 23:59 GMT.

India: The Way Ahead

Written by Whole india

After the whole Indian diplomatic crisis whose aftermath is still witnessed now, Few regions have said, “Growing fascism has infected India.” These regions have also pressurized many other allies of India to break relations with India. Now what’s ahead for India is the question.

Internal development is the answer. When we stabilize our region from within no one can dare to put hands on us. Stabilizing India’s judiciary is essential, and the OPAJ (Organisation of Peace and Justice) acts as a landmark in this process, however, the destination is making the Judiciary Independent. India’s new forum is in its final stages before launch, and hence, the Cabinet Secretariat is required to be established. Importantly the Cabinet Secretariat should be created before the forum’s established, but after the former founder of India National Parliament, India’s parliament, before screw up and closed down the region now the problem lies ahead is what shall be the provisional substitution of the parliament? Discord may be. And for same India needs a structured bureaucracy. The previous one ‘Civil Servants Act’ is quite ineffective and does contain many loopholes. What India needs is to correct these loopholes in a certain way.

A trust in democracy

Written by Whole india

Introduction: India's Parliament elections were quite smooth with Hindu Puri getting a wave of support. In this article, we shall be comparing the votes, vote shares and such other data.

The results and Analysis: India's election's results were quite different when we compare with last time's result.

Vote Share of the January Elections
Vote share of November Elections

Points of November Election

Points of January Elections

On the Basis of the vote share, we can analyze many things. Vote share here is the total share of points. So, it's the total amount of points given to a candidate upon the overall sum of points given. In the January election, the overall points were 1610 while in the November election, the overall points were 1441. So accordingly, Hindu Mahasabha had a rise from 9.9% to 10.6% in vote share which was a rise from 142 points to 171 points. Devarj has received an increase in vote share from 7.6% to 7.9% and hence he has an increase from 109 points to 127 points. Gadhavi has a vote share increase from 8.0% to 9.9% due to which he has an increase from 115 points to 160 points. Still, Hyperpolis and Whole India have faced a decrease in vote share. Whole India's vote share decreased from 10.1% to 9.1% but this hasn't affected his points much as he has seen a rise of 1 point from 146 points to 147 points. Hyperpolis on the other hand faced the problem as his vote share reduced from 9.2% to 7.0% and hence he saw a decline from 133 points to 113 points. Hindu Puri lead the election with a strong rise to 11.4%. The people of India have shown a good amount of trust in this senior fellow.

Key Points from the election:

  • Hyperpolis saw a over all decline.

  • Whole India has seen a decline in Vote share.

  • Hindu Mahasabha witnessed a massive come back.

  • People have shown trust for Hindu Puri, more.

  • Gandhavi has a good rise overall.

  • Hindu Ram Rajya has made a record with such high points and vote share in the first go.

INTERVIEW WITH PRIME MINISTER SIR SALIBAIC by Spirit glaceons

I have secured an interview with our Prime Minister on the development of Nova Noctua, a territory he is taking on as a personal project, and the State of the Union. This interview was done to discuss the development of Nova Noctua and the potential for it be granted provincial status. For this to occur, its Constitution needs to be legally sound - the first step to becoming a full-fledged Province in the Union.

Interview Transcript:

Spirit Glaceons What do you see of Nova Noctua? What do you think it will become?
Salibaic Well I hope to become a proper fully functioning state in Force one day alongside the ranks of many others but until that day we have a long road ahead

Spirit Glaceons Will it have a general theme to it? Will it be a rp focus region state in Force or will it be a game centered region etc?

Salibaic I think that it will be a community based one but we will have rp elements to do with our government such as state openings of our parliament, etc

Spirit Glaceons Going on about RP seeing as in a sense thats a major part of the global NS community what do you think needs to be done to make RP a more popular thing in the Union? Do you think Nova Noctua should be the stepping stone for that action?

Salibaic I think that RP is already popular especially within other states such as RGBN, I think a more character rp could be beneficial such as I mentioned before government interaction with parliament and stuff. I think that the main room for improvement is down to our Union RP but I think Nova Noctua can provide a platform for roleplay.

Spirit Glaceons Moving on to the general state of the Union here. Regarding the most recent trial do you have any comments on it that you want to tell Force Citizens from their Prime Minister

Salibaic I don't think as Prime Minister it's right of me to interrupt the due process of law, however I feel that the punishment was far too harsh with removal of citizenship

Spirit Glaceons Do you have anything at all that you think needs to be done in the Union that you would like to say to the public?

Salibaic I feel that we need to reform our electoral process and judicial branch. I would like to introduce an electoral commission and MMP voting hopefully at some point. I also feel the court should be nominated not elected to prevent bad apples becoming justices.

THE TRIAL Interview with the Chief Justice and the Prosecution by Spirit glaceons

The recent trial, Union v. Xenomenadra, ended with the defendant being charged with treason for his actions in Nova Lisseum. The controversy arose over his opposition to an Executive Order issued the day before. The text of that EO is as follows:

1. All Cabinet Ministers must inform the Founder and Prime Minister upon their appointment or election to any positions in the governments of regions outside the Union. They must do this within 48 hours of the accession to the position(s). They must do the same should they lose any of these positions.
2. No Cabinet Minister may hold positions in the executive branch of more than one government outside the Union. The position of Founder in any region shall not count towards this.
3. No Cabinet Minister may hold a position in a hostile or enemy region, as determined by the government's foreign policy.

Xenomenadra, who is a member of Government in Nova Lisseum, did not want to be forced to choose which regions they would continue to serve in. They immediately condemned the EO and submitted a House Bill seeking to overturn it. When no House Rep. chose to take up their bill, they tried to strong arm the Union into dropping the law, using their platform in Nova Lisseum. Here are the statements from both the Chief Justice and the Prosecution who were victorious in removing this threat of foreign interference from the Union (see Linkhere for the actual trial.

Interview Transcript with Chief Justice Tigslarlowducken

Spirit Glaceons When the incident first came to your attention what where your thoughts and feelings on it?
Tigslarlowducken Well the incident first came to my attention when Renegalle sent the screenshot. Then he stated he was going to bring charges, and whenever someone declares that I always start getting the Court ready for the sake of efficiency.

Spirit Glaceons Hm interesting before the trial started did you have a feeling on how it would end?

Tigslarowducken Before the trial started, no. However, once Kor presented his evidence, or lack thereof, I was fairly certain I knew the prosecution would carry the day.

Spirit Glaceons What reforms do you think personally need to take place to make sure this does not happen again? Any sort of laws or programs need to be put in place in YOUR opinion?

Tigslarlowducken None. What Kor did was an abuse of both their power in this region and their authority in another region. Renegalle's recent Executive Order and House Bill X: The Political Party Act (Revised II) are sufficient to prevent this from happening again in the future. The revisions made in the latest Political Party Act revision are designed to mitigate the threat of a foreign power exerting influence in our region. As for Kor as an individual, the revocation of their citizenship should prove enough to eliminate them as a threat unless they attempt to use their influence again.

Interview Transcript with Founder/ Prosecution Renegalle

Spirit Glaceons How did you find out about the offense made by the defendant?

Renegalle We received a report from one our citizens that Nova Lisseum (a region where Kor is in government) had released a statement condemning one of our recent Executive Orders, misconstruing our government's actions and attempting to subvert the will of our citizens and their elected representatives.

Spirit Glaceons Were you confident in the case against the defendant (or do you remain unsure)?

Renegalle I am absolutely confident in my case. The defendant committed treason by using their leverage in a foreign government to attempt to pressure us to rescind a legitimate Executive Order or to force the House of Representatives to pass a law, without popular support from the citizens. Without a doubt, this was an attempt to undermine the legitimacy of government, since laws are what rule us and to harm our people, since the statement released by Nova Lisseum was defamatory towards them and sought to upend their ability to have the greatest say in our democracy. I do believe the punishment the Court gave was a bit harsh, but I respect their opinion and will seek to prevent such harsh terms from being given for lesser degrees of treason, like this one, in future.

Spirit Glaceons Do you think any reforms will come from this incident?

Renegalle I will be seeking reforms to the penal code, which I believe as of now to be insufficient and too vague for certain crimes. I intend to separate treason and high treason and potentially create a separate classification of crime, 'foreign interference'.
