Hong Kong as a free and democratic society is lost.

It is a good thing that the true China the PRC will have almost full control of Hong Kong

However, the welfare benefits enjoyed by the people of Hongkong are still higher than those of the Chinese mainland.

Should have been implemented in 1997. An entire generation lost. The British planted a poison pill, and now some of these disaffected have already infiltrated the education, civil and political institutions. Leading to the need of a much harsher and widespread crackdown 23 years later than initially in 1997. If China waited another 27 years, the degree of sedition and infiltration would be too wide-spread. Let's of course not forget that all forms of protests were illegal in British Colonial Hong Kong.

The West, has no doubt planned this and fits into their pattern of information warfare and political destabilization. Links to funding from foreign forces have already been identified to those so called 'activists'. China must resist. The NSL is needed now more than ever given the scale of social unrest - something that Western democracies would never tolerate. I have never heard stories about police officers being surrounded, beaten by iron bars, curb-stomped, or stabbed in the West. I have however, heard suspects being shot for so much as hesitating to obey police instructions, much less for approaching or pointing weapons towards the police. The NSL is a hammer, but it will be necessary to root out the agitators from all sectors of society. One more policy that China should implement is a free ticket to the 5-eye countries for any agitator who wishes to leave. Good riddance to bad company.

Well with all the foriegn interest and intervention, i think Hong Kong has been a western pawn long enough. It will be more free and democratic soon enough, if things remain the course their heading.

I believe we should focus more on our China than what is going on right now in the real world. We can talk about that anytime, but i just feel like we have a good idea with setting up a government and hopefully turning this region into an actual functioning representation. ^_^

Me being 1/3 Chinese means i should be the Chairman of China

Association in what? :P

Freedom of association. Freedom to associate with any union, party, ideology, thoughts without repercussions. Hong Kong has fallen. It's people will be forced to become mindless drones for a single party state. The brave handful will fight, the lucky ones will escape. May Hong Kong and the rest of China be bastions of freedom. May no western nation try to push their nefarious agenda like they used to.

Not sure if Hong Kong has indeed fallen, but I see it as a restart for Hong Kong to function as a proper society as much needed. The destruction caused by the youth is clearly evident in the need to manage, and the function itself. This legislation was indeed a much needed one, given that they've had 23 years to work on it, but to their own incompetence, they've at last, finally obtained proper legislation in closing these legal loopholes. Many countries have their own National Security Laws, so, therefore, I don't see a need to condemn them for being out of touch, but I do wish to see further defining and tweaking of the National Security Law for the Hong Kong Special Administration Region of the People's Republic of China, you can see a particular area of gathering intelligence, and I do ask, what kind of intelligence, and what kind of method do they use in order to do so, at what a reasonable agency conducts? There are a few questions that are needed to be submitted accordingly defining certain articles of the legislation which I hope they will revise and strength that definition as they may be done so by the court itself or the government. :)

I hope China con stop Hong Kong form being western simp's and weak little soy boys who cry when ever someone says China so hopefully China's new law will give Hong Kong some balls and might under the PRC control.
